Swift putting on a driving clinic as usual. This man is 💯 the reason I’m getting into racing minis. Ever since I saw him in a goodwood video giving the big V8 cars a fit and going through corners on 3 wheels. Truly a legend and the king of Minis.
Congrats on a truly magnificent drive, Nick. I've been following Motorsport for over 35 years and I have never seen anyone as comfortably skilled as you are with a front-engined, front-wheel-drive car. The way you set it up so 'on the nose' and yet you can hang onto the little rascal! It's a joy to watch every time. Well done.
Geez mate, if my mini was that clean, I would be afraid to take it out the garage lest a leaf drop on it. And there you are drifting yours at speed like it was meant to be driven. Good stuff.
Congrats on a great drive. Came for for some tips on how to drive a mini fast around Goodwood, but stayed for the great battle with the Lotus Cortina, Galaxy and Alfas. I love watching the battle between the Galaxy and mini. Entertaining as always.
Mr. Bean eat your heart out lol. ( i know Mr. Atkinson has a McClaren and LOVES racing, very 16:56 knowledgeable.) Great driving sir!! Much skill and fun! That little mill loves the revs, and i love to hear it!
It really is best this way. If you give the Minis slicks, the V8s have to have them as well, but then they would be able to get a lot more power to the ground and disappear into the middle distance. Nah, leave it as it is. Far more entertaining.
Excellent race by a very skilled driver, I'll bet with a little more 'free license' that engine could murder those fords!, I'm torn because i love both those classics, best of an era.
This is when racing was at its best, nowadays it's becoming too uniformed and quite frankly a little boring, a combination of modern cars and even worse electric cars has made a deserter out of me, I love Goodwood my favourite is the hill climb, but mixed racing still excites me.
Needs more speed on the straights. Try magnesium pistons and magnesium conrods next. The lower the reciprocating weight the more power. If the "rules" allow it of course.......

Thank you for the high praise.
Great drive, Nick! I love the Mini's phenomenal cornering ability. That no. 68 Cortina was fishtailing like a mackerel on the hook.

Most excellent . Proves a mini is the most fun you can have with your trousers on .Bravo .
In about 1994 or so I brought my 1989 mini in for a Swiftune 1380cc / Kent 286 / JKD 5sp SCCR gearbox… oh happy days. Should never have sold it.

Trying to pass that red Galaxie must be like trying to pass an aircraft carrier, and he clearly wasn’t hesitating to use his size. Outstanding drive!
Go nick. From a drag racer the states. I enjoy watching you. Class act. Funny too.
09:44 great control
Videos like this help me get through the long Canadian winter. A new season just around the corner now. Thanks Swifty!
Great drive as always.
This made my day and is the closest I can get now to driving one of your cars. Cheers!
How on earth did you catch it at 9:44?
Floor it and correct, without over correcting into a tank slapper.
Easier said than done though, as the "oh shit" factor is in full effect
The king of the Mini Men,

Awesome!! What a fantastic drive. Excellent to be on board for that. Thankyou! Congratulations 👏🏻🎉
The only motorsport I watch: classics.
High rev and stable sounds proves it is very tough engine as well as strong gear box inside !
Great save!...Great drive
Thank you. Really enjoyed this one.
@@SwiftuneEngineering always a pleasure watching you carve through the field upsetting the bigger boys.
Brilliant drive
Lovely to watch this.. ✌️
Tremendous stuff, lads. Cheers.
Amazing racing Nick, 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
If only they was allowed to run the minis on a slick or semi slick 🤯🤯🤯 these minis would be next level against the big v8s
swiftys the man 💪🏽💪🏽

Cracking drive. What horsepower is the mini running at?
Ok what you need to do is just as the Cortina's are getting squirrelly at the apex a gentle push in the direction of travel ought to sort them 🙂
Quick change shifter would help ?
Wow that's proper motor racing
Fantastic thanks for sharing 😜
You're most welcome. Thanks for watching.
Are you hitting 100 mph on the clear sections….if I recall my mini speedometer thats whats happening….wow
Now there is a happy race driver, well steered.
totaly awesome!
Fantastic blast of cars from my teenage years. Thanks for sharing!
Jeeezus! Those Cortinas are tail happy under braking! 😯 I'd be scared to death being surrounded by them wagging their fintails all over the place.
Nice lift-off oversteer! (e.g. at 9:20) 👍 ... and the best laugh at 20:25
Got the self preservation society going through my head 😊
Excellent race by a very skilled driver, I'll bet with a little more 'free license' that engine could murder those fords!, I'm torn because i love both those classics, best of an era.
Great driving. Center gauge (Tach?) does not seem to move? Then again my eyesight is not great... Needless to say I am a novice.
Reminds me of Jason Plato. That ain't easy.
I Think Nick may have driven a Mini before !
Now I see how your near side was dented.
Front and rear of that car are in different postcodes. Willow 3 is being repaired back to full glory as we speak.
So what position did Nick finish in?
6th
Eccezionale bravissimo
Mini wanna eatem up Cortina...btw my first new car was a 1970 Cortina $72 month...proving "I could afford a Hanna Ford!" 😎
Impressive, if it only had 50 more hp

Giving Swiftune advice is one way to out yourself as a goose.
let's see the mini pass the fords on the outside
Mini's Iron Age engine is less able than even the shite Ford Crossflow mit Goofy Lotus cyl head grafted onto on it.
so i short , Cortina outrun them Mini outbrake them.. end
That drives like a tractor 🙈
Wow. European and American Fords... Sloppy.
