- This is a thickened chicken-based soup with fish maws as the special ingredient. Additional textures are provided by chicken meat, quail eggs, bamboo shoots, and shiitake mushrooms. Some people also add bean thread noodles, but I usually don't.
Ingredients and full instructions will be added here soon.

Thankyou so much Nana, been waiting so long for you to make this 👍 🙏🙏
tyreecestylz I’ve been waiting to make this video for a long time too. I keep running out of the fish maws before I get a chance to shoot the video. Lol
Very interesting dish. Thank you for sharing Nana! I love watching your videos :)
Also do you use the khao piak cornstarch or regular corn starch ?
OIC. Thank you.
So many steps in making the soup! I wish you could be my mother who makes such nice food everyday :):):)
I like your cooking. You always cook family size, restaurant style don't looks as delicious as home make
Can you use fish sauce instead of thin soy sauce?
You try to give the video more brightness it will be great if you do
Hey!
Can you omit the fish maw or is it required to have it in the soup? My mom loves this dish, but I personally do not eat fish.
Stephanie Burrell well that’s tricky. The soup is named after the fish maws. You could split the pot into two and add the maws to one pot for your mom and one without for yourself.
Cooking with Nana Thank you so much for replying! ❤
Stephanie Burrell the fish maw does not have any fishy taste or smell. Even if you don't like fish, you can't tell it comes from fish at all. It looks like pork rinds to me and taste good.
I use pork rinds in place of the fish maw.😉 It gives you the texture with out the smell.
Chinese food but laos style?
Bhanuwatra Khanyar-mar I haven't heard from you in a long time. I hope you had a good Songkran and lots of good blessings. Yes, lots of Lao and Thai food are influenced by Chinese food. Thank you for stopping by. Have a good day!
IS that tripe?
Arnilisa jimenez there’s no tripe in the recipe.
