Just for clarification a "meh" is 1/2 a smidge.smidgen. You only need to get you scope square to the mount. As long as you have a quality mount. I use a feeler gage to get the bottom flat of the scope parallel to the mount.😅
I had a 224 val that wouldn't group at all maybe 2" group at 100, took it apart ,lapped the upper and went to a 1/2" at 100. The slot for the barrel pin was the first part to need honing, just barely took the black off the rest and it shoots great. Have honed every upper since.
Quick tip for those Aero Selectors: you don't need a tool to install them, just use the edge of the lever to compress the pin then seat it all the way on.
Im thinking about getting a 14.5 inch barrel with a 15 inch handguard so my suppressor sits in a little recessed.. Have u ever done this? And will it cause me any problems?
Lap the upper receiver in a vertical position and place a level on it to make sure the receiver is 90 degrees perpendicular, then the weight of the lapping tool can free-float evenly during the lapping process.
Thats exactly how I lap upper receivers mount them vertically so the lapping tool doesnt have gravity pulling against it. I also assemble the upper held in the vise vertically on a reaction rod
In regard to race engines and thread locker, torque specs are there for a reason. If you goop things up with too much thread locker then your torque specs might not actually be to spec.

@@tonyc223 So are uppers and lowers and the specs are often off maybe only by 1/10000 of an inch. So as well as all ofther specs includes tolerences so does barrel extension shoulders. By precision machine do you mean CNC machined or?
You missed a few steps gentlemen. Gordy Gritter from the Extreme Accuracy institute and Chad from the School of the American rifle always bed the barrel if accuracy is a priority. With a little wax, it is easy to remove the barrel and it does make a difference. You should have lubed/greased the barrel threads/barrel ring and done the barrel thread seasoning. If the barrel's journal is not dimpled, it is critical that you dimple it. Rocksett works great on the gas block set screws. Why you don't use it is a mystery. Pinning will not effect accuracy if the taper pins are not hammered in to hard. The set screws will also effect accuracy if the set screws are torqued above 20 inch pounds. Clamp on gas blocks will also effect accuracy if clamped to too high of a torque. You can feel tight spots by plugging the barrel and the effect of using too much torque. Blue loctite works great for bedding the gas block to the barrel journal if you know how. Muzzle devices should not be torqued over 15-20 inch pounds if accuracy is priority. You can determine this by using a muzzle erosion gauge. By the way, Colt instructs its armorers to put a few drops of oil in the vent holes when lubing the AR platform. It is much better to over lube the AR platform than under lubing it.

Is the lower already put together becuz YT won’t allow lowers being seen put together?
Probably
Proprietary ambi lowers nowadays are shipping with mag release and bolt release parts already installed.
You can put a lower together in a video. It's just not monetized. There are a few video of lowers being assembled. In fact, Brownell's has a few.

Snug it by hand and tighten until the nut lines up with the hole in the receiver for the gas tube.

Its not about the machining on the upper, its about the layer of anodization that is possibly a varied thickness.

what was the torque of that the barrel's nut got torqued to?
They did not say but 40 lbs is a good starting point.
A Geissele barrel nut torque is 50 ft lbs.
