Ikakku's punk ass wants to keep his Bankai secret, because if anyone knew he could use Bankai it would make him a potential captain candidate. And he doesn't want to leave the 11th Division. @@bankai786 Only Ikkaku has a Bankai, Yumichika's is a shikai, it's just that he hides it by calling his sword the wrong name so it refuses to release correctly
Well it’s more about what 11th division represents they respect kenpachi and want to follow his lead they think that kenpachi is the kind of person who finds using your swords power as weakness. Which he did he said so after he fought ichigo but what they don’t know is that kenpachi when he fought ichigo learned that isn’t true. He even asked his sword to tell him its name he learned from his fight with ichigo but his squad doesn’t know that that old ideal is still stuck with them.
It's not about using your sword's power, Kenpachi himself has his sword constantly in its shikai state, it's that he feels that the only acceptable use for that power is to physically attack. Charlotte Chuhlhourne is voiced by Travis Willingham who you might remember as Roy Mustang from Fullmetal Alchemist. He also voices Findor, the guy Hisagi is fighting. Guy has range and he's clearly having fun.
A small thing to clarify, I’ve heard you guys use the term sparingly and thought to provide this little useless trivia. “Cero” isn’t a term used to describe any/all attacks in Bleach, it’s the name of the blast attacks created by Hollows specifically. The “magic spells” that Soul Reapers use are called “Kidō”. there are two types of Kidō; offensive spells or “Hadō” and support spells called “Bakudō”. Both groups in Bleach use Reishi as their power source, The big difference however (I Believe) is that a Hollow’s Cero is just a concussive wave of reishi whereas Kidō is taking that reishi and actively changing its properties to enact a specific result. (casting a spell)
There are 3 types of kido, hado, bakudo, and kaido (healing kido). The thing I never got is that it's all just manipulating reishi, so Hollow should be capable of kido and Shinigami should be capable of firing cero, right? When Kisuke stops Yammy from firing a bala (pretty sure it was a bala, anyway), he pretty much says he can do exactly what Yammy does to generate a bala. But for some reason no Shinigami is running around firing death lasers from on high.
Only thing to add is Bala, which is similar to a Cero and is an Arrancar projectile of spirit energy (reishi). Main difference? Its faster to fire but weaker than the Cero from the same arrancar. Its your classic spam fire technique.
Ikaku doesnt use bankai because he doesnt want to be promoted to captain because then he won't be working under Kenpachi anymore and he wants Kenpachi to be his leader regardless because he's his goal
I was losing my mind over that episode 😩 I remember when the episode first came out long ago when I was a teenager. My hormones were going crazy 🤣 Especially with Unohana
The unspoken rule that Yumichika talks about is that they aren't supposed to use kido or kido type zanpakuto or kido type abilities as squad 11 only likes up in your face gruesome melee battles... Which is why he only releases his shikai halfway as his zanpakuto retains a melee weapon form in that half state... And he does so by calling it the name it doesn't like...
Apparently in Bleach lore, Soul Reapers can only obtain their Bankai when their power reaches Captain Level. Ikkaku is definitely hiding it because like someone else in the comments mentioned, he doesn't want to leave Squad 11 and probably also to not show up Zaraki Kenpachi as well. Also maybe he doesn't want to be a candidate for Captain as he's not ready and still perfecting his Bankai release. Can't wait for your next Bleach group reaction - I'm caught up on the Anime, but love rewatching it all with you guys. The next TYBW chapter is coming up soon too! Hope you guys can do some live reactions if you're caught up by then.
U guys forgot a long time ago but not all soul reapers have a bankai That's the third release form of their zanpakto. That's usually only captain level because to become a captain u have to have a bankai. Most lieutenant rank or decently strong soul reapers only have shikai their second release form. The only lieutenants we have seen with bankai are renji and ikkaku, everyone else when they release their sword use shikai, that's why they don't say bankai when they release it. Figured it would be obvious since u always hear the character say bankai when any soul reapers uses bankai
Hisagi hating his sword for being scythe is ironic because he’s group are literally Soul Reapers. Then again you wouldn’t want people to think that’s all what your whole character is.
Grog Strongjaw wasn't Chaotic Neutral and was actually a perfect example of how to play a Neutral Evil D&D character without annoying your party. You can't change my mind because I'm just straight up objectively right, don't even waste your time.

This Hisagi fight never fails me in bringing friends into watching Bleach. It captures so much of what bleach fights bring to the table for anime. My only disappoint is that it created a desire in me for all future smaller fights in the manga to get this level of expansion and upgrade in the anime
Hisagi is a fan favorite. Based on how the Captains react to his Shikai release, I think he's probably the Lieutenant closest to becoming a Captain. Probably needs a Bankai release and he'd be considered for a Captain position.
I had a feeling you guys would enjoy these episodes! I remember them fondly myself. For another quick language lesson: 'Fuji' is the Japanese word for wisteria, a flower whose colour is often much the same as lavender. On the other hand, 'ruri' means lapis lazuli, a gem with a colour similar to sapphire. The language of flowers ('hana-kotoba') is treated with a good deal of seriousness in Japan -- it appears in a number of anime series. In Victorian thought, marigold did indeed stand for despair and grief. Kira's sword Wabisuke has a name that fits very well with that image -- 'wabi' means apology in Japanese.
Izuru earned my respect too in his fight. I still remember when Hisagi's fight was released years back, I even remember that's what all episodes of bleach should have been, the animation was that's good. Hisagi was my favourite lieutenant too.
Hisagi, one of my favorite lieutenants. I thought it was a shame we only seen his powers this late in but the buildup was great. Someone who was literally in the background that lost to Yumichika and was under everyones radar. However, even the captains knew he was a top tier fighter.
Kazeshini - Wind Reaper. Its shape definitely takes inspiration from Death's Scythe in western culture. Also had the most gruesome kill, splitting the guy's head in half vertically while still attached to the body I also love Wabisuke's weight doubling power which is actually perfect for its purpose. If it doesn't cut the head off immediately, it can increase the weight of the head and neck using micro cuts until the person is unable to hold their own head up and they behead themselves

50:44 that’s because yumichika healed himself by consuming part of Charlotte reiatsu he absorbed with his true shikai. By absorbing the opponent reiatsu he heals himself. If you remember in the ss arc he defeated hisagi but before revealing his true power he was wounded, and yet when he arrived at kenpachi place, Zaraki was surprised and said “you won without even a scratch?”
Remember there are two stages to a Zanpakuto. A Shikai which is its awakened state and a Bankai which is the evolved state. Unless they say Bankai, they are just using their Shikai
Lots of releases here... Abirama's Resurrección, Águila, is Spanish for "Eagle." Charlotte's Resurrección, Reina De Rosas, is Spanish for "Queen of Roses." Yumichika's REAL Shikai, Ruri'iro Kujaku, is Japanese for "Azure Peacock." Findorr's Resurrección, Pinza Aguda, is Spanish for "Sharp Pincer." Hisagi's Shikai, Kazeshini, is Japanese for "Death Wind." And Poww's Resurrección, Calderón, is Spanish for "Pilot Whale."
You gotta watch the Reigai/invasion filler arc that comes after this one, the animation pops off like crazy and we get soooo many dope fights its insane.
Yumichika's shikai ability drains his opponent's spirit energy, and he can use the flower petals containing that energy to heal. Hence, why he doesn't have a broken arm anymore.
Ikkaku specifically doesn't want his bankai to be know because he doesn't want to be reassigned from 3rd seat of squad 11 to lieutenant of another squad or even captain (yeah, that one ain't happening LOL). He's already able to do something his captain can't just by being able to achieve shikai, he just wants to be able to serve under Zaraki until he dies
It is funny how the budget for this fight is so high considering in the manga it was like a two page fight; they know the fandom totally LOVES Hisagi, so much that he got his own 3 sequel novels in which he is given much more fan service and revealed that he didn't even use the actual skill of his Shikai here lol.

Ikkaku’s broken Bankai wouldn’t be able to provide him enough power to beat Poww after breaking the full powered Bankai with a weaker Arrancar.
@@ReleaseZeKrakkenIkkaku’s broken Bankai wouldn’t have been enough to close the gap against Poww in Ressurecion, especially since Poww beat him in Shikai in base form and took no damage.
Ikkaku is absolute garbage
Til this day, Hisagi vs Findor is one of the best fights in bleach 👌🏾🔥
They went all out for the Hisagi fight. Izuru's was great too.
32:56 I love Navi, but she is the Calvin from Blind Wave of the Normies 😂: Someone will correctly
say a name/word questioningly, and she will well-meaningly correct them incorrectly.😆😄
Charlotte Chuhlhourne is voiced by Travis Willingham who you might remember as Roy Mustang from Fullmetal Alchemist. He also voices Findor, the guy Hisagi is fighting. Guy has range and he's clearly having fun.
I ❤️ Shuhei Hisagi! Please love me back. 🙏
that hisagi fight was AMAZING!! and bleach truly has the best soundtrack :D
Ikaku doesnt use bankai because he doesnt want to be promoted to captain because then he won't be working under Kenpachi anymore and he wants Kenpachi to be his leader regardless because he's his goal
its also broken so he cannot use it
@@jamesgreene6718not broken
@@juandriver6025 go watch the fight he bankai is literally broken and thats all im gonna say without spoiling
They skipped 228? The beach episode is actually really good🥲
I was losing my mind over that episode 😩 I remember when the episode first came out long ago when I was a teenager. My hormones were going crazy 🤣 Especially with Unohana
In one of the non-canon films, Ikkaku revealed his Bankai to Toshiro and Rangiku, asking them to keeping it a secret.
Damn Rana you didn't have to pull up with that black dress
40:07 every time Travis says “lieutenant” you can literally hear the Roy Mustang come out😂
U guys forgot a long time ago but not all soul reapers have a bankai That's the third release form of their zanpakto. Figured it would be obvious since u always hear the character say bankai when any soul reapers uses bankai
you liked Tatsuki.... you loved Nel... prepare to have a nosebleed with Harribel.
....yes, I'm looking at you, Rana.
Hisagi continues to be one of the coolest characters in the series!
Truly, the animatoes love him!
Hisagi is Kubo’s favorite character if i remember correctly so they had to flex him finally having a moment
He’s a fan favorite character and Kubo was confused why at first since he hadn’t done anything with him before this point.
@@ChromaticEagle dope design for sure but i hope we get to see some CFYOW stuff with him
Mayuri is Kubo's favourite character
Hisagi is the Protagonist in the Novels and the Animators must have known that way back.
Not every character has a bankai. And it's only a bankai if they say the word "bankai"
Everybody: Watching Yumichika show his true power
Normies: Tentacles and Hentai
This all I look 😎 every other week when you upload Bleach ✊
52:57 nah, Ikkaku doesn’t like to use his bankai, and prefers to keep it a secret. There’s no limit to him using it🤦🏾♂️
For those wondering about the flowers:
1st division is the chrysanthemuns it means truth and innoncences
2nd division is the pasque flowers it means to seek nothing
4th division is the bellflower it means those who grieve are love
5th division is the lily of the valley it means sacrifice, danger, pure, love, humility and sweetness(Jesus Christ😰)
6th division is the Camila it means noble reason(what a shook)
7th division is the Iris it means courage
8th division is the bird of Paradise it means everything is obtained?
9th division is white poppy it means oblivion
10th division is the daffodil it means mistery and egoism?
11th division is the yarrow means fight (what a suprise)
12th division is the thistle means vengeance, strictness and independence
13th division is the snowdrop it means hope
Yea Hisagi was awesome but don’t sleep on my boy Kira Izuru, he’s a menace.
This Hisagi fight never fails me in bringing friends into watching Bleach. It captures so much of what bleach fights bring to the table for anime. My only disappoint is that it created a desire in me for all future smaller fights in the manga to get this level of expansion and upgrade in the anime
28:10 kira is sooo cooold 🔥
39:29 sfx is cleaaan 👌
44:50 captains got hyped for hisagi
200 episodes in and this chick thinks everything is a bankai.
"this chick" has a name, incel
Ive never seen such a random lvl up in story and animation like with Kira and Hisagi 😂😂 🔥
23:42 😆 good one
Also u have seen komamuras bankai before. Kenpachi fought him in soul society arc
These lieutenant battles are showing their squads' Dogma.
These four soul reapers all got that Daddy energy
Lol I can see the rock doing the role of Charlotte in the live action!!!
28:01 ah yes…the moment Bleach fans collectively realized “oh SHIT…Izuru ain’t playing…and never has been…god DAYUMN.” 🙂
It's funny how a soul REAPER doesn't like how his sword was made to REAP lives😆
Izurus Shikai is one of the coolest of the whole manga so underrated
You guys think everything is filler 😂
Using the wrong names of the Zanpakuto eventually gives you an alternate yet weaker form than the true version.
Yes and we all saw it on TYBW, where renji gets to know true name of his zanpakto and unleashes full power
Kazeshini - Wind Reaper. Its shape definitely takes inspiration from Death's Scythe in western culture. Also had the most gruesome kill, splitting the guy's head in half vertically while still attached to the body
I also love Wabisuke's weight doubling power which is actually perfect for its purpose. If it doesn't cut the head off immediately, it can increase the weight of the head and neck using micro cuts until the person is unable to hold their own head up and they behead themselves
59:19 subs say "He's going to be thorough" when he says "He's gonna be through". Writing for subs pays garbage like $1/min is on the higher end so I kinda get it
The battle of Katakura Town arc is great.
Cant wait for you to see ichigo vs uquiorra
Their not ready for that . Or the deep implications of it to add to your point.
Remember there are two stages to a Zanpakuto. A Shikai which is its awakened state and a Bankai which is the evolved state. Unless they say Bankai, they are just using their Shikai
Did someone tell them yet Ichigo's Japanese VA is also the Japanese VA of Whis?
Lots of releases here...
Abirama's Resurrección, Águila, is Spanish for "Eagle."
Charlotte's Resurrección, Reina De Rosas, is Spanish for "Queen of Roses."
Yumichika's REAL Shikai, Ruri'iro Kujaku, is Japanese for "Azure Peacock."
Findorr's Resurrección, Pinza Aguda, is Spanish for "Sharp Pincer."
Hisagi's Shikai, Kazeshini, is Japanese for "Death Wind."
And Poww's Resurrección, Calderón, is Spanish for "Pilot Whale."
We did see the dog captain’s Bankai when he used against Kenpachi early on, rather briefly though.
Strategems WE DIVING STRAIGHT TO HELL BOYS TIME TO DELIVER SOME DEMOCRACY
Wabisuke is the most underrated Zanpakuto. Such a cool ability
What happened to the people who said these fights were boring last video 🤔
8:19 Rana liked seeing Charlotte's chuhlhourne 😏
Normies Yumichika doesn't have a Bankai at all, he only have a shikai and a true form shikai that's it
You gotta watch the Reigai/invasion filler arc that comes after this one, the animation pops off like crazy and we get soooo many dope fights its insane.
Yumichika's shikai ability drains his opponent's spirit energy, and he can use the flower petals containing that energy to heal. Hence, why he doesn't have a broken arm anymore.
Funny you called Barragan, 'Thanos'.
This fight made me a HUGE Hisagi fanboy for a while....
Episode 217: Insult
Hisagi and Kira get some love from the normies! Put some respect on their names!
Wabisuke is the sickest shikai. As it cut your neck your head gets ever heavier. Guaranteeing complete decapitation
Classic Bleach lesson. Always go straight to bankai. Don't bother with anything else.
Much like Ryoiki Tenkais (Domain Expansions) its only a Bankai if they say Bankai
