    The Show Goes On by Lupe Fiasco, violin cover freestyle. I thought this beat was fresh so I had to play some violin over it, and somehow Pachelbel's Cannon fit over it.

      i was listening to a throwback playlist yesterday and hearing the original reminded me of this. this magic of this song is highlighted with the beauty of the violin. sounds almost angelic. but i guess i should be praising modest mouse considering this melody is theirs.

    I love mashups of drastically different styles like this. I may or may not have shed some tears when you started playing Pachelbel's Canon. This is really beautiful. I play Scottish fiddle but I love when fiddlers start with a Scottish tune and then go into something that's a completely different style. At ceilidhs (Scottish social dancing) often the bands will start with something very traditionally Scottish and then segue into Pink Floyd or literally anything, like the Flintstones theme song. I would love it if they would segue into hip hop but I don't know if Scotland can handle that yet. Anyway I love all of these mashups, esp how you're like "oh I just threw in a little Vivaldi in the middle" or "somehow Pachelbel's Canon fit over it" in such a casual way. I am much more impressed with this level of improvisation than purely classical violin (when it focuses more on technical mastery than improvisation) because you can really see in your expressions how completely one you are with both styles of music. Your relationship with the music comes across as much more genuine than many musicians I have seen. Bravo. (I realize this was 7 years ago though so I don't know if you even see these comments.)

    After Playing Violin for 5 extra years (9 Total, which is a small amount) in order to be able to fully understand the beauty of his playing, I have to say I LOVE the sound of ALL the FILTERS on it, violin strings should have significantly more... Twang? I'd say, yours is dulled beyond anything I've ever heard, literally too good to be true, sounds nice however.

    • @JohnSmith-im8ot
      @JohnSmith-im8ot 10 лет назад

      If not, then please post a video or something in order to teach others how to remove sooo much of that, If I'm wrong, then I'm happy, it's just more for me to learn, but if the only way to get that beautiful sound is through a microphone? Then I have been wasting my time working on learning to play this.

    • @JohnSmith-im8ot
      @JohnSmith-im8ot 10 лет назад

      John Smith Found out at exactly 1:00, that note that sounds out of line? Unless you have the most INSANE reflexes and managed to remove weight on the bow as that happened, it was touched up later, that should have produced a noise that would actually bother the ears of people watching, sorry mate, I really wish it was all you in this video, still love it though, please continue playing.

    • @josiemcdevitt
      @josiemcdevitt 9 лет назад

      I get where you're coming from because i play the violin as well, but at 1:00 i disagree that he edited that because if you can shift cleanly it will sound fine (which he did) and you can manage to play the violin without "twang", I'm constantly being told to do this
