  • Hi Everyone! Welcome back with another VLOG! This month I've started my ER rotation. Super fast pace. If you're a person who gets bored easily and like to jump around doing different things - ER might just be for you. Since being in the ED I've gotten to do a lot of lacerations, take care of pretty sick kiddos, work up lots and lots of chest pain and abdominal pain. More to come!
    MENTIONED IN THE VIDEO:
    1. Epocrates
    2. Dxsaurus
    3. seattlechildrens.org (respiratory score, Asthma ED management)

    This channel actually started as a medical school blog in order for 5 medical students to keep in touch during clinical rotations third and fourth year. Along with my youtube videos, my friends still post regularly - they give great advice and vivid personal experiences. I think you all would really enjoy it. ellensburgdiningclub.wordpres...

    My daughter was just like that waking every couple of hours i went through lots of things binks, blankets, feeding, water, cosleeping, independent sleeping, she was a super mommas girl - I read an article that their smell is the most intense so I would wear a T-shirt on relaxed day (not all sweaty and gross) then when she would fuss in the night I’d give to her within 5 to 10 minutes she was back asleep. First time I tried it she did a 6 hour stretch of sleep in the night.

    I used to nurse my baby during the day but for the last feeding before bed time I would give my baby formula and keep pacifier next to her so she can grab it and get it on her own if she happened to wake up.

    Letting him chill is the best thing you can do. We tend to pick them up as soon as they wake up, or when they start to wine...unless they are hungry or diapers wet, make it a habit of letting them chill for as long as they can.

    I came across your channel and so glad I clicked and watched. You are amazing!!
    I’m currently nursing my 6 month old and I WAS waking up as often as you. He would co-sleep with us and wake up frequently, and I became exhausted! Long story short when he was 4 months I officially put him in his crib (more rough on me than him I must say lol) and what a change!!! The first night he slept for 5 hours straight! Next few nights it averaged out.
    So, my suggestion is try the crib! I’m not a fan of the cry it out method, but whatever works for YOUR family.

    • @alazcano61
      @alazcano61 6 лет назад

      Oh!!! Another thing I did was a bedtime routine. Mine goes as follows:
      Start his routine around 6 pm, followed by a bath, go to his room, turn the mobile on (so he resonates the song playing with time to go to bed), put on diaper, clothes, feed him from both breasts (he’s 6 months but is a big boy. Already wearing 12-18 month clothes!!), he falls asleep by the second breast, but when I lay him in his crib he wakes up and goes right back to bed.
      Also, I know your already busy with studying and adding one more thing to your plate may not be helpful, but I suggest reading this book! I read it, took the tips, but didn’t actually follow the regime it had. I did what worked for our family. There is another RUclips family that followed the method and had their baby sleep training by 4 months!
      www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0757305601/metafilter-20/ref=nosim/
      Sorry so long, but I know the struggle!!!!
      Your doing great mama!!

    • @drjennale
      @drjennale  6 лет назад

      +Amanda we just put him in a crib and yes!! It's so much harder on me than him. We have a little baby cam that tells me he still wakes up a couple of times but he's able to put himself to sleep.

    • @drjennale
      @drjennale  6 лет назад

      +Amanda thank you!! My guy is a little chunkster too. I give him both breast and now another 2-4 oz before bed. That was our problem, I don't think I was feeding him enough during the day because people always said "your breast should make enough for baby" so sad.
      I have another 24 hour video coming up and a 6 month update where routine is totally different. Haha there is no consistency in this house.

    • @alazcano61
      @alazcano61 6 лет назад

      Jenny Le Awesome!! Yeah ransitioning was bitter sweet, but mommy and daddy like having their bed back. Lol. We can always count on around 7 pm-8 am it’s us time! Although I’m still waking up about 3 times throughout the night to feed 😐
      And girl, your schedule is wild so not having consistency is expected! Lol. It will all pay off in the end and Wyatt will be so proud of you. 😍 Keep up the hard work and I’m glad I’m a subscriber!!

    One idea that you could try to help your baby sleep is taking one of the shirts that you were wearing, and place it next to or around him. Your scent on the fabric will be soothing.

    Hello Jenny, I really don't know how you manage to do everything while you have an infant. I study medicine in Europe, and I did an elective in US and the expectation the attending and residents had from me was crazy. I was working my ass off from 7:30 am to 7:00 pm, and the attendings were asking me to do presentations the next day, or extra 1 or 2 readings. To be honest it was the hardest time of my life. I didn't know how to manage time, how to work for 12 hours and come back home and prepare presentation for the next day. Can you share your experience of how do u manage your time. How can you be a full time doctor, plus a mom, and how do u manage to study????
