I love learning and school. But ever since I was little, I’ve never been good at science courses. Such as chemistry, biology, physics. But all I’ve ever wanted to be is a doctor. A family physician to be more specific. Should I still keep going in this field? I feel very scared because it’s a lot of money that is going into this education.

Honestly, I'm glad there weren't any ignorant comments regarding the fact that your scrubs were short-sleeved (which were obviously not a choice) although you wear hijab, that's why I love the medical community here on youtube! I hope you found a suitable method by now entering the OR/ER with a hijab! Keep the good content coming:))
Karlie West after greys anatomy I wanted to be a neurosurgeon.. two years later I still want to go in the medical field but I don’t want to be a surgeon. Just know you are gonna be in school for 15 years, you have to pay for liability insurance, you are going to be in a ton of debt, and hours might not be the most ideal. If you go through with it, best of luck, it is definitely a cool job and does pay well! But it requires a lot of hard work.

Hi! I'm in grade 10 and have a really large interest for medical studies I just wanted to know what stuff / requirements like background experiences I should have before applying for university I have a bunch of volunteering hours and plan to do many more and tips?
Gurtrude Sky hopper shadow medical professionals in many fields, not just the one you're interested in. Get really good at writing essays and taking notes. If you have bad handwriting, fix it. Develop your leadership skills. Start saving your money. Keep your grades good. Go to a good college but go to the best medical school you can. Focus on your studies and create an hour by hour plan. Get really good at problem solving and complete case studies. Make connections with people in the medical field. Practice tidiness, practice cooking. Expand your vocabulary and learn all the prefixes and suffixes used in medicine (thats a big one, makes everything easier). Volunteer in hospitals and red cross clinics. Get yourself some good professional clothes and a good pen. Thats pretty much all of it. Good luck

Thank you! And unfortunately, yes. I had to ask during the training and the response was that the hijab must be tucked under the scrub cap and you cannot wear a shirt under the scrub top. However, after you scrub in, you can ask to wear a long sleeve jacket to cover your arms! Hope that answers your question!

Wow! I went to medical school 8 yrs ago and watching your blog brought back so many memories. Keep these videos because as you progress you'll be able to see how far you have come. Everyone feels the same way: pride, nervous excitement, feelings of doubt, small triupmhs. Embrace it all, ask for help when you need it and get yourself a little grace. Missing a day of studying is permissible if you've been diligent throughout the week. Keep going strong, it looks like you have a host of folks rooting for you already :)
I'd like to get some advice: I'm a junior in high school and I recently changed my career path. I wanted to be an architect since I was in fifth grade, but since October, I've had this burning desire to become a pediatric oncologist. I love children and I love studying cancer, so I thought why not? The only hitch in my huge plan is that I get quite queasy... I HATE eyes and veins. those are two things that gross me out more than anything. Will this get better with time? Can I get over this and pursue a career in the medical field, or should I search for something else?

Wow! I went to medical school 8 yrs ago and watching your blog brought back so many memories. Keep these videos because as you progress you'll be able to see how far you have come. Everyone feels the same way: pride, nervous excitement, feelings of doubt, small triupmhs. Embrace it all, ask for help when you need it and get yourself a little grace. Missing a day of studying is permissible if you've been diligent throughout the week. Keep going strong, it looks like you have a host of folks rooting for you already :)

I'd like to get some advice: I'm a junior in high school and I recently changed my career path. I wanted to be an architect since I was in fifth grade, but since October, I've had this burning desire to become a pediatric oncologist. I love children and I love studying cancer, so I thought why not? The only hitch in my huge plan is that I get quite queasy... I HATE eyes and veins. those are two things that gross me out more than anything. Will this get better with time? Can I get over this and pursue a career in the medical field, or should I search for something else?
