This was so sweet. Labeling your borders so you know where to put them is literally genius haha! I'm honestly impressed at how much you were able to film over this time! Happy end of the year, sweet Maddy! I so wish I lived in FL so we could go out and celebrate together but I'm so proud of all you accomplished your first year! Your student saying that she wished she could be in kindergarten forever is feeling the same way I'm sure all your other students are! Your heart for teaching has shown through so bright in these vlogs :) Also it is oddly satisfying to see all of your classroom on one wall? I love you! p.s. I'm looking forward to all of our guided reading dates we are about to have, too!
I remember how tricky it was to find the exact pieces to fit in the right places when I was setting up, so I wanted to make it a little easier for the fall! 😂 Me too! I just set up my tripod and let it run! 😂 😭😭 You're the best!! I SO wish that you lived in FL so that we could go celebrate, too! One day!! ❤️ Thank you for always being such a sweet, encouraging friend! Yes - it really is!! #teachertetris to the max!! 😂 ME TOO! So excited!!!! Love YOU! 🥰
That is my favourite stapler remover too! I see on your returned library books that you had "One Day, the end" Great book! You did it. You finished the year and you did it with grace. Have a great summer Maddie. Look forward to see your 2nd year!
Isn't it the best?! Yes - I was going to use One Day, The End for a Writing mini-lesson! Thank you so much! ❤️❤️ So glad to have you here following along!
Thank you for sharing your first year with us! I can relate to being one of the last teachers at school to finish closing out their classroom. I have been teaching for 27 years and I am often still one of the last. As teachers, we accumulate a lot of stuff! You did a great job of cleaning and moving everything up off of the floor that you could. I know the custodians and cleaning teams appreciate it. Happy Summer ☀️☺️♥️
Thank you so much for watching! ❤️ Everything feels like it takes me so much longer than everyone else! 😂 I know I will get faster with time and experience, though 😊 Happy summer to you, too! ❤️
Maddie, thanks for vlogging. Seeing you pack up your classroom did feel like a full circle experience. Congrats on finishing your first year. Can’t wait to see what adventures are ahead! 😀
You did it!! The time lapse made you look so efficient and swift! I need to take note for next year when I do my bulletin boards. Congrats on finishing strong!
Congrats on finishing your first year! Isn't it amazing the amount of stuff we accumulate in a year as a teacher? I had to order a bostitch stapler remover last week when I found out I am moving rooms in my HS and I have to take down my bulletin board because I am not leaving it up in the other room. Lol. CANT WAIT to use it! Can't wait to see your other vlogs this summer.
It really is! 😂 That staple remover is seriously the BEST! Sorry that you have to take down your bulletin board but I'm excited that you get to use the staple remover! It's the little things 😂 Thanks so much, Kristin! ❤️ I really appreciate all of your encouragement and support this year 🥰
My sister in law is a grade 1 teacher, this wasn’t easy for any teacher. I watched many pack up videos and teachers seeing their kiddos for the last time this school year. You have some resilient kids from the early stages! Congratulations on year 1, you’re stronger because it happened and prepared beyond measure for what’s going to be!
Hi Maddie! Just wondering if you know where you for your scraper tool from? I won't lie, I could probably find another one but yours is in my favourite colour!😂😂😍😍😍😍
Setting up and tearing down classrooms year after years seems so counterintuitive. I realize this is an administrative decision and most teachers know they will be doing this but geez.....I always wonder what the point is if you are staying in the same classroom each year......how much of that time could be spent on the academic part of teaching rather than on the organizational part? Set up and tear down is no joke and exhausting! Thanks for posting and best of luck to you!
Well Girly, you made history. Your first year teaching and a year of a global pandemic. Hopefully the rest of your career won't be this historic. Boy am I glad the districts I worked for didn't make us empty file cabinets and desks. Have a blessed summer and second school year.❤🙏
Out of curiosity I’m wondering why you have to empty all of your materials from your desk, filing cabinets etc 🤷♀️ Are you moving rooms? I’ve enjoyed watching your time lapse of packing up your room. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching! 😊 We have to move everything out because our custodial staff moves all of our furniture out into the hallway so that they can strip & re-wax the floor. It's a lot of work but it's definitely worth it to have nice, shiny floors!
@@FunkyRainbowKat That depends on what type of population/area you want to be in! Some of the bigger cities are Tampa, Orlando, and Jacksonville. But there are a lot of smaller cities that are great, too! Some are close to the beach, some are more inland. :)
Yeah - but I don't mind... it's nice to have to go through & organize everything. Otherwise, I probably wouldn't! 😂 And the nice, shiny floors are worth it :)

Your school is so nice!! I love the tables and chairs and of course you did a great job decorating it ❤️😊👍🏼🎉
Thank you! I feel very lucky to be at my school 😊

Those memory books were awesome. What a great end of the year present to parents.
Congrats on the end of your first year. Your room looked amzing. 😁
Thank you! They were a lot of work but SO worth it. A keepsake for sure!
Thanks so much, Elizabeth! 🥰
Maddie!! I love your videos! I also think the back door in your classroom is so perfect and I hope my future classroom has one just like it!
Thank you so much, Nicole! ❤️ I'm only one of 5 people in my school who has a back door and I am so thankful - it's the best! 🙌🏼
Maddie, thanks for vlogging. Seeing you pack up your classroom did feel like a full circle experience. Congrats on finishing your first year. Can’t wait to see what adventures are ahead! 😀
Thanks for watching, Kaylyn! It sounds like you've been here from the beginning 😊 Thanks again! ❤️

Thanks so much, Braelan! ❤️ I know - the timelapse is like 20x the speed I actually move in! I agree, it makes me look very efficient and swift! 😂
I am so glad we still get to see the clean out video😊✨
Thank you for watching!! 🥰

Whoooo Hoooo!! You did it girl! Year 1, Done! Congrats sweet friend! Enjoy every last drop of summer ❤️❤️
Thanks, sweet friend!! I hope you have a great & relaxing summer, too!! ❤️
Glad you posted this even though it was filmed earlier. And the only bugs I kill are roaches. They're so gross! Everything else, I catch and release.
Thanks for watching, Jennifer!

My school requires us to take everything down as well. I like to start each year with a clean slate either way :)
Right! It's nice to be "forced" to go through, organize & clean everything out!

Such a good idea to label the borders for next year 😳
Thanks! Then I took a picture of the whiteboard after I wrote the numbers all around so that I can reference it next year :)
Hey Maddie congratulations on your first year teaching!
Thanks so much, Michelle! 😊

Hello im a elementary teacher in korea🇰🇷

Thank you for watching! 😊
Where did you get your memory books from? It is an idea I am thinking of using for next year but am not sure.
I made them in PowerPoint! 😊

What are the boxes that say “Grocery store” and “ Flower Shop” ??
Decodable reader books from an old curriculum :)
so sad please come back I miss you rip
What city do you work in? Is it hot like Arizona? I'm going to be a first year teacher soon and trying to find some nice cities for jobs.
I don't share the city publicly, but I'm in Florida! It's been around 95 degrees here every day - but with the humidity, it feels like 100+!
@@PrimarilyYours what are the best parts of florida to live in?

did you have a mask with you
Hello you are the best teacher . You are so sweet
Thanks for the kind words, Isabella! 🥰
Crazy you need to clear out your desk and all those cabinets...especially the ones with drawers/doors 🤦🏼♀️
