I just found your channel recently. As I sort through things for my classroom this year, I've been playing your videos. I've taught for 15 years, and as I watch your vlogs from earlier in the school year...I can't help but think "those were the good ol' days." Who knew we had it "easy" compared to what the future holds. Recently I've been at a loss as far as prep....I don't know where to start. But I do know, through this all I will grow and learn. Change may force it, but I hope to take off and run with it. Thank you for sharing your first year with us! Also...I thought I wanted to be a kindergarten teacher, but in student teaching learned it was NOT for me. Kudos to those that teach the very little ones.
I enjoy seeing you walk around your room to tidy. Would love to see more organizational content like how you organize your google drive. I know you did a lesson plan organization video. Or perhaps a video on your favorite resources on tpt. :)
Great ideas! :) I can definitely try to do a Google Drive organization or favorite TPT resources video while we are at home in the next few weeks. Glad you enjoyed watching! :) I also plan to do an updated classroom tour sometime when we get back to school (whenever that may be!)
Primarily Yours I of course would love an updated classroom tour! Also, a video on how you are keeping yourself occupied at home! Haha Ideas on projects, show to watch, etc.
I love your videos !! You are full of joy and energy! I wish I would have had a teacher like you at my school when I was younger. Hugs from Argentina!!
I’m so glad you’re back! I’m also a Kindergarten Teacher, and I was wondering if you have any Behavior management tips or tricks you could share with me or, maybe you could make a video on that?!💕☺️
Hi, this is a little bit of a random question but I was wondering what is the font you used in your scholastic purchase form you send home to parents. It says "Thanks for ordering from scholastic".
Hi, Jake! Font-related questions are my favorites, haha! It's "APL OCD Teacher" by A Primary Kind of Life in all caps. This is the link to the set of fonts is: www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/APL-Fonts-Volume-Three-3286116
When you are searching, include "HP Instant Ink compatible" in your keyword search. I have the HP Envy 5530... I bought it for $49 a few years ago, but it has gone up SIGNIFICANTLY in price since then unfortunately! I liked a few more affordable options under the "Teacher Favorites" section of my Amazon storefront :) www.amazon.com/shop/primarily.yours?listId=2P6HLSROOJ6VS
Maddie, I would love to see a video on how you make your resources, for example your reading log for spring break. How do you add the cute borders, etc. Also, what font is the primary font and where can I download/buy it? This is such a crazy/sad time right now but your video brightened my day:) Thanks! Stay Safe.
Hi, Jennifer! Yes, I've been thinking about making a video about that (digital design things) :) Great suggestion! If you have other specific questions you'd like me to include, send them my way! :) The font for the main text of the spring break reading challenge? It's APL Kinder Peeps by A Primary Kind of Life. :) I'm so glad to hear it! Thanks for sharing that with me. I hope you stay well, too! :)
I'm so glad! Thanks, Heather! I got them from Erin's Ink Clip Art when I was at the Get Your Teach On conference last summer :) It looks like Erin doesn't have many in stock right now, but here is the link to her website: www.erinsink.com/collections/all I found some others on Etsy that look almost identical! www.etsy.com/ca/listing/730213177/alphabet-letter-teardrop-earrings-faux?ga_order=most_relevant&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_query=alphabet+leather+earrings&ref=sr_gallery-1-2&organic_search_click=1&frs=1
I would love to know what you are giving your kids to work on at home. I had to create a packet of work and I'm stressing over was it enough or too much.
For now, my district has asked us to hold off on sending home/deciding on any type of distance learning work. So I don't have an answer for you yet! :) I think that you did the right thing by sending the packet home - if they are able to complete it all, great. If they can't, that's okay too. At least you equipped them with resources if they have time/want to keep practicing their skills. Don't stress! You're doing the best you can in a situation none of us have ever been in before! :)
Hi there! Just wondering where you sourced those printable decodable readers from for your optional homework? Loving your videos btw! I'm binge watching them atm :)
Thank you! I don't have a regular posting schedule right now because I want to enjoy the filming & editing process - I know that I would stress myself out if I tried to stick to a posting schedule! Maybe in the future! Thanks for subscribing :)
BTW, I love the slide show you shared on instagram. How are you sharing that with parents? By email? I use ClassDojo for most messages. It has so many videos my kids love! Thank you so much for sharing!
Yay! I'm so glad that it was helpful for you and your students! :) I sent the link to my students' families through the communication app I use called Bloomz. :)

Another question, what printer do you recommend to use with the hp instant ink? Can I buy any printer or certain ones?

Thanks so much for watching!! 😊❤️
The decodable readers are from our curriculum (Orton-Gillingham).
Primarily Yours Thanks so much! I’m from Ireland so I’d love to get an insight into the different methodologies/curricula you use in the US!

Hi, Kylie! Welcome to the fam! SO glad you are here
I'm so sad. My March Scholastic order didn't come before schools shut down! :(
