- New advancements in artificial intelligence have the capacity to deliver major breakthroughs in cancer therapy.
AI-powered protein design company Profluent used AI to make an open-source gene editor called OpenCRISPR-1.
OpenCRISPR-1 can create molecules with the power to edit the human genome, according to Profluent.
Profluent's aim is to develop gene editors that are more operative than existing biological mechanisms, especially mechanisms that prevent illnesses like cancer and fight viruses.
AI presenter Priya Lakhani joins The Context to explain this development in health and technology.

CRISPR was created back in 2012 that is 12 years ago because we are currently living in 2024.

I remember China jumped on it when it first came out. As to this day, China still has no real restrictions when it comes to genetic engineering, the world may be 10-20 years behind now considering how they operate.

This is where AI excels, much better than humans or even programs built by humans. AI is not new, the old Xbox Kinect algorithm was created using similar technology. Humans can’t write programs where the complexity goes into the realms of chaos. AI created algorithms and imagery will help in so many ways!
They should use AI developed in a way to bridge nerve endings in the spinal cord that will deliver signal through it to the regions needed to gain mobility .
Instead of stem cells , create AI that builds and bridge in organic form so that through direct injection or surgery applied directly at the area of trauma.
Let AI grow and learn where to direct as the brain signals try to divert to regions of the body through thought process and rehabilitation exercise training.

In my layman opinion, What you said is referring to a chromosomal issue not to a gene perse . The extra chromosome should be detached and left with 2 chromosome ... that may be done during early stage of embryo.
