I don't feel bad for PD. They went on the Chinese watch reddit and basically ignored every good suggestion regarding the lume, bezel, and bracelet. Then, they release it at a too high price. The only thing they got right was the diamond indexes on the dial.

San Martin seem to do an impressive job, people don't even complain about it being an hommage or copy. I've been looking at what Longines has been doing lately and I didn't think SM would make that model

I bought the Pagani when they first came out. I have no issues with the bracelet. I like the look of the bezel slightly better on the PD, however it appears almost black in indoor or low light conditions. I would have preferred the green to be a few shades lighter so that it would pop in any light conditions. I do wish it had a date window. I also would have preferred it to have a 3 hand NH35 version. For me, the single 24 hour hand to tell both the hour and minute is useless because the markings are so small and close together that I can’t see them easily enough to use. I think I paid about $150 USD.

Then you collect the Ali Express sale codes on the home page and they will apply to your order at checkout. I just saved $110 on my latest watch purchase by following this.
Objectively as one who owns neither I would go for the SN. I prefer the subtlety of the gmt hand and overall execution. However, I would disagree regarding date complications in general. It's just a crutch. Not only do our phones have that information, we don't need said information at all times of the day plus it's something we would remember if we tasked our brains to do so. Another reason I don't like date windows is disruption of dial elegance and balance.
On some watches, especially dress watches, I also prefer a no date dial. However, a GMT is a tool watch designed for monitoring different time zones, which may also involve a difference in date, so the date window is a useful and quick point of reference for a GMT user. I agree most watches look better without a date window but I do like to have the date on the watches I wear to work to remind me of the date when filling out paperwork. When away from work I rarely need to know. Quartz with date for work and no date automatic for weekend ideal for me.
The San Martin is undoubtedly a very nice watch. However, I'm not a fan of male end links and I like the diamonds behind ALL of the Arabic numerals on the Pagani versus the 3,6,9, and 12 of the SM. I own the PD-1717 and its bracelet looks identical to the one in this review. I do not get why everyone hates its bracelet. Mine is very comfortable with enough micro adjust for when my wrist expands and contracts, and I like the 5 link with the polished center edges. I do like the lume of the SM versus the Pagani though. So, from someone on a budget I would buy the Pagani, bad lume and all.
Apart from a few things I did like the PD1784 overall, especially the head of the watch. But several reviewers, including me, had concerns about the launch price. You can buy it cheaper now, especially during a sale but I think a more realistic price for the quality on offer would be below $125. Just my opinion, of course. Thanks for watching!!

San martin needs to engrave or emboss their caseback. Put their shark logo on it or something.
With most watches i want them smaller. Just that. Make diameter smaller, thickness smaller, lug to lug smaller.... This but 36-37mm and very thin.
