I loved that in the beginning of the shining they go to the overlook in the day and in Dr Sleep at the end they go to the overlook at night
I think it was representative of how the Overlook had fallen whereas in the Shining, it was still at its peak.

"Dies irae, dies illa" is the original peice composed over 500 years ago and used alot in movies. Its really interesting
It was composed in the 1200s and was originally used at funerals.
I remember my dad watching 'It's a Wonderful Life' and hearing that music when George stood on the bridge screaming for Clarence. Goosebumps.

This theme is amazing, and being a huge horror fan myself, the music itself tells a terrifying tale
I’m not a horror fan, not my thing. I never saw The Shining. So, to me, this is just a well crafted piece of music - interesting in its arrangement, pacing, and execution... like everything L’Orchestra Cinematique does.

@@lucagiovanetti9870~ I'm basically a wimp, so I stay away. I did joke all the way through The Exorcist; I just thought it a bit silly. Silence of the Lambs (is that horror?) was kind of tedious. Then again, Testament (from 1983, with Jane Alexander and William Devane) scared the crap out of me. I had nightmares for a week. No wonder I stay away.... ;)

Cheryl B well I’ll just say that The Shining is great not just as a horror movie, but a movie in general. It’s more of a character study if anything, and really sticks with your after you watch it.
Plus it’s what got me into the horror genre, to this day no movie has topped the Shining imo.

I think the storyline between books and movies are a bit diffrent idk, and i asume the people that eat from other shineing people
aren't regular people and are like in a cult (the true knot) they became "imortal" somehow and need to eat from other people to stay imortal.
