The moment they started singing this on the show I got lord of the rings vibes. Tolkien had many songs in his books and this is the vibes I imagined while reading the hobbit and so on. This version of the song is stunning. Well done!

indeed. I hadn’t heard it before tonight but watched the Agatha season 1 episodes and heard it tonight on Mabon. I felt the chill and a touch of power / a good song gives the illusion… and as they say imagination is the best remedy for reality.

idk I like the original better because it’s not the same voice and they have their own unique voices that you can pick out and they have more um emotjon
I agree with this comment. When I clicked on this as the "Epic" version, I was expecting something Epic. This just feels like an orchestra layer was added.
What this loses is the witchery in the music. The modern symbol for witchcraft is the pentacle, which is a 5 pointed star made out of 5 lines that's encompassed within a circle to bind it.
5 voices > 1 voice for this effect, especially when you're trying to land the chords that make it so haunting. Additionally, you'll notice that none of the 5 voices sing above the high note from the upper part, and only once per chorus do they sing below the low note. These notes symbolize the circle that binds and harnesses the magic.
It's pretty but strips the original recording of emotion and meaning.

I really hope this song is indicative of the level of thoughtful " witchy-nes" we're getting with this show, I'm a practitioner IRL and a lot of the references imply someone did their homework or at least put effort into it and I appreciate it
I watched an interview with the cast and head writer Jac...they did extensive research, talked to practitioner witches and even had workshops in spell casting and divination. It was a thorough job and yes, it definitely shows! I am beginning my studying and research of Hecate and the Maiden/Mother/Crone legacy. I want to discover my powers and learn more about where I fit in this world.

@@debraearle5551 just bear in mind that a lot of what has permeated the internet is essentially mythological fanfiction. Retcons of retcons of stories that more modern writers decided made more sense or told a better story than the original stories. Its a haul to find the accurate lore anymore. Luck to your journey though, friend.

I am very hopeful. I used to work for a company that sold the whole range of goddess, spirituality, and modern witchcraft books to all the new age bookstores before Amazon took it all over. I know this is for real I have done earth magic sometimes mainstream media can deliver spiritual messages and I feel this show. Might they definitely communicated truth in WandaVision
