Thank you Luke for your wise clear thinking and advice. And fr taking us back to our ancient wisdom and away from fads. Love that point...food isn't bad. It's our lifestyle.
The health benefits of ghee: 1. It doesn’t stimulate insulin 2. It has lutein (it’s good for your eyes) 3. It decreases your appetite and helps you fast longer 4. It contains important fat-soluble vitamins 5. It is more easily digested than other fats 6. It contains MCT fats (which are used as energy and are easily digested) 7. It has short-chain fatty acids (which are good for gut health) 8. It has CLA (it’s anticarcinogenic, anti-inflammatory, and anti-allergy) Nutritional value of Ghee: Ghee is purely fat and has no significant amount of proteins, carbohydrates, sugar or fibre. 100 ml of ghee contains almost 99.8 grams of fat. Most of the fat present in ghee is saturated fat. But traces of proteins may be left over in the ghee if milk solids (whey) are not completely removed in the clarification process. Ghee, a clarified form of butter, is rich in healthy fats that can enhance the absorption of fat-soluble vitamins in milk, aiding in better nutrient utilization. This concoction can be calorie-dense, making it beneficial for weight gain and muscle building. Why do bodybuilders use ghee? Ghee contains omega-3 fatty acid DHA and omega 6 (CLA). These fats can help in increasing lean body mass while also reducing fat mass. Ghee also helps in mobilising fat cells to be burnt for energy.
Hi Luke,as a fan of ghee, I was (and my community)were highly offended when our own doctors in the 60 s and early seventies used to discourage us from using ghee in our cooking, and were quite vigorous in stopping us from doing so,unfortunatelymost of the community stopped except a few of us,and we still use ghee to cook and other uses for health, and now the tables have turned and now its hailed as a superfood which we knew all along,
Thanks for the information on ghee...my problem is their are so many ghee available in the market starting from 400 to 2000 rupees...how we get to know which is the best one and healthy ...please reply
Do you help people personally? I’ve been having stomach issues for awhile now and have been doing SO much research but still have some issues and scared to eat anything. It’s on my mind 24/7 and stresses me out constantly.
Its gud to buy milk, boil it, keep it in fridge overnight, thick layer will form, collect it everyday and keep in fridge... After 15 days you can make ghee from it... Keep the malai out of fridge, bring it to room temperature, put 1/2 tbs homemade curd, mix well... Close the vessel with lid and leave it for 5-6 hours... I use hands for churning, you can use mixer... Hand churning guarantees minimum waste
Luke Thanks a ton for your fantastic videos . You sure are really very passionate about your roots and the wisdom and sensibility of our Indian. Just one request here, is please share more detailed information like maybe recipes which we can follow. Because through your videos we get to know WHAT is good for us; but it's difficult for us to figure out HOW MUCH of stuff we need to use. So maybe if you could share some healthy recipes it would help. Thanks once again 😊
