There's a 2 step solve for this where you simply use a spin to get the inner pieces to the edges, then roll it to release them. Totally agreed, level 3 tops. Great vid Mr.P, nice to see more hanayama.
It looks like you've found a non-intended solution for this puzzle. Looking at the insides, it seems that your remark at 4:00 was right - you actually need to rotate those parts in opposite directions from a certain position to separate them, twisting them with one finger from each side (that's what the indentation in the center of each one is for - to place your fingers there), which should be pretty tricky, and give the whole puzzle a horizontal spin.
Could be. But the alternative would be a massive design flaw. 😁 From my point of view a puzzle that does not come with instructions can be solved in any possible way except damaging it.
@@Mr.Puzzle I totally agree with this statement. Unintended solutions are not the fault of the solver. They are however the responsibility of the designer/maker. If it is known by the designer/maker that more solutions are possible, than the intended, and the goal is to not allow such, then that is when those limits need to be stated. There are plenty of examples here on this channel where such "rules" have been communicated as directions of allowable resolutions.
It doesn't really look like there's enough purchase to start rotating them from the center position, especially while they're still in position to slide inwards. Now, if the puzzle had come with a magnetic tool...
@6:10 They Cyclonic motion caused it to part.. wow.. that's cool😀Props for the unique mechanism, but they should have intigrated with a few other sequences or something liek that to mke it a bit more then a one trick pony...
For me, Hanayama have make a big mistake by putting photos of the disassemble puzzle on the box. I have lend my puzzle to a lot of my friends and all of them have believed that the inner pieces was in only one part. And each of them have had a nice "Haha" moment when they have spin it ! Without the photos it can be a 4 for a non-puzzler...
There's a hint right next to the tube name. I'm pretty sure that the intented solution is to separate two pieces and then roll it the way that the arrow points. It doesn't work when you roll it the wrong way. So it's not supposed to work shaking the puzzle. I solved this with the hint and I enjoyed the puzzle very much.
It was a level 5, UNTIL you know how it works. But I’m not great at these. I still can’t do the Hanayama UFO even with instructions and videos🙄. Great video as usual!
Instant thumbs up 👍 Hanayama normaly doesn't disappoint... One i don't have till now. Btw. I haven't managed to solve the Trinity after years of trying, even your video didn't help somehow 😂
@@Mr.Puzzle I'm not sure if i forced one part one time to a wrong position. So it's a never ending puzzle for me. I have to go to hospital 2 x every year and i take it with me every time 😁
So did you just put a circular peg in a square hole, or is it really as simple as it looked..? I want to give them the benefit of the doubt and assume you found an inadvertent solution but I already have a tube I can shake until something comes off in my hand..(sorry)
Maybe the puzzle part of the "obvious" one is that whole "tricky" to reassemble part. Not all puzzles are about undoing. Also why wasn't spinning it in different ways not one of your first thoughts?
I don't think this was the intended solution. The way he had to insert his thumbnail to hold a piece down didn't seem like an actual move. And the random shaking until something fell out, it just didn't make sense.

Some would call this "overcomplicate things" . 😜 But I agree, spinning it initially would make it even easier and faster.
Using your nail to hold one side is kind of cheaty. Spinning seems more legit.
@@superdan2593yeah hahaha I came to this video to find the non cheaty version 😂
That hex box is incredibly beautiful!
Always glad to see one of your videos in my feed.
Finally a Hanayama again 💜

Given a puzzle solver as experienced as you and a puzzle with so few degrees of freedom, you were bound to find the solution quickly.
How heckin awesome do you gotta be to design puzzles?
Rhetorical question. Answer is all the way awesome.

As another commenter has already noted, a spin is the quickest way to get the pieces to opposite ends.
Would make it even easier I guess.

The Hex Box looks like it has the same basic structure as the Venn puzzle.
Yes, but this one here was definitely first. 😁

Would also work.
The tube.
On the tube.
Who's more clever, the puzzle maker or the puzzle solver, or are they about equal.
I knew that was going to be an interlock puzzle rather than one with pins
@@5:00 Your fingernails are helping lol.. I chew all of mine so that wouldnt be an option for me 😛
You could also spin the puzzle
Baki reference
Torille..kinda...was easy..but..TORILLE
I solved it by holding the both round pieces with my nails and spinning the tube part with my mouth.
That was easy or maybe it's an unintended solution.
Not sure, but it works very reliable and is easy to reproduce. Therefore, definitely not an ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ puzzle out of my point of view!
What? A difficulty level of five out of six... this makes me think that there is a more unobvious way to solve this puzzle.
Might be but won't help in the end. 😁
Me: Hmmm I wondered who put a Lego part of this puzzle?
(That's my idea.)
Am I a bad person for reading "toob"?
First.
Thanks
huh.
If feels like you cheated by using your nails😂😂😂

but is it even possible to solve Rubik's cube?
I solved it by sucking out one middle piece with my mouth and then turning it. This way it can be solved in seconds.
This is the epitome of this is an amazing puzzle design but plays crappily.
