My Dad would have loved this (rest his soul). He was a tool and die maker so these things were his blood and soul ....threads within a thousandth of an inch. We use to buy him a couple of puzzles for Christmas each year. Your video and tenacity bring back great memories!
Mo Diddly it's the sword in the cube in the background when you first see the nut&bolt puzzle on the shelf, he did a video on it before and couldn't solve it and he promised he wouldn't post another video on it unless he solved it
It's amazing how differently we all view things, and seeing things through another's view. I enjoy how you give a us insight on your thought process. I'm so not good at these type of puzzles, but enjoy your videos very much.
Am I the only one upset he only smacked it once? THE ONE TIME YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE GENTLE! This was by far one of my favorites you've done besides the broken radio puzzle. Tinker puzzles are the ultimate fidget toy to me, so watching you do them is like second hand relaxation. You could have not solved it, and I'd still love watching you spin the bolts around. Keep it up man.
I am now obsessed with puzzles because of your channel. I now have 3 puzzle boxes and 2 hanayama puzzles not to mention like 6 puzzle adventure games on my phone. Your so much fun to watch.
I just found this at a thrift store, so I decided to go for it. I’ve never done any puzzles like this before, so it took me about a damn day. And that’s after watching this video! It really is a good one, definitely one of those you can do over and over again, even knowing the answer, & it’s still difficult. That is... if you ever want to do it again.
Interlocking clue was really good. Took me like 5 mins to understand what the hell was happening and like 1 hour taking it apart because for some reason I thought the nuts aligned with the main "cracks". I got the concept of taking it apart and put it together really quickly but then took me fucking ages to get it right because of the misalignment they have to unlock it. Pissed me off so much...
I normally don't even know where to begin when I'm watching these, but as soon as you mentioned the split, I knew exactly what was going on. I knew you'd have to find an orientation of the nuts that had no threads. But, to be fair, I'm a machinist and made threads regularly for a living, and I'm used to seeing things that have to be "timed" a certain way. Really cool puzzle, good job. Now I want to make one myself.
Chris i really love watching you solve puzzles it helps to relax me as i have had an ulcer on my leg for 2 years now due to health problems and you help to make me try to forget the pain you are amazing hun and thank you x

Alex_ Icestaff No I don’t mean OCPD (obsessive compulsive personality disorder) I mean OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder) here’s the difference- OCPD is not as strong as one would think. OCPD is defined as the preoccupation with perfectionism, orderliness, and control. Individuals with OCPD tend to be inflexible and rigid. They pay extreme attention to details and rules so much so that it can interfere with their ability to complete a task. They become so excessively devoted to work and being 'productive,' that they neglect their friends and family. Their preoccupation leaves little room for recreational or leisurely pursuits. OCD- I have these issues-- Compulsions are repetitive behaviors that a person with OCD feels the urge to do in response to an obsessive thought. Common compulsions include: Excessive cleaning and/or handwashing Ordering and arranging things in a particular, precise way Repeatedly checking on things, such as repeatedly checking to see if the door is locked or that the oven is off

You have to get this one EXACTLY in the right spot. Even when you think you've got it right, you doubt yourself because it has to be so perfect in its positioning. Very clever with it being small enough not to slide all the way apart in one go though.
My husband spent days on this when we first got it. At the time I was having horrible anxiety, and pulling myself off the ridiculous meds they gave me for it. And tried edibles for the first time. No joke he tossed it at me and said he'd order pizza if I got it open. Took me about 20mins. I couldn't get it back together though. Granted I'm pretty good with these, we have quite a few. you won't read this comment, but the puzzle is actually easy now that you've seen it taken apart. if you look at the bolts when they're disassembled, one side is wide and the other side is narrow. two of the seams on the outside are fake seams. so there is really just a sweet spot, but if you can figure out the orientation with the nuts being close to the heads of the bolts, it will slide apart every time. luckily imperfections in metal casting and CNC make it easy to feel for the play. just like lock picking.
