great choice for number two with Katatonia's Dance of December Souls. i've always found that album to be very haunting and cold in both sound and lyrics. personally, Brave Murder Day (1996) would be at my top three, though. it has a darker death/doom sound, especially with songs like Endtime, 12, and Rainroom. another awesome list from this channel. :)

Thank you! Katatonia definitely has a haunting and cold sound, one of my favorite things about them

Nice list but Dismember-Like an Ever Flowing Stream and Carnage-Dark Recollection were one of the heavy hitters in the early 90s.

Damn, no ABBA? I’m convinced the Swedish are so melodic because they grew up on them haha On a more serious note, great list! Dissection is definitely in my top three as well. Maybe these are a bit obvious but Sacramentum’s far away from the sun and literally any Messiah Marcolin era Candlemass album would be on my list as well, I mean they’re just classics I can’t help it!

hahaahah true! I've actually been on a major ABBA binge the last few months, when I get their whole discography I might do a rank video. Far away from the sun is definitely a great pick!

@@Kianabulhosn oh dude an ABBA ranking video would be killer :D and yeah you can’t go wrong with Sacramentum! This is kinda off topic but what are your thoughts on Autopsy? I finally had the chance to listen to skin by skin and judging by that the new record seems promising!

@@harryp9067 I love autopsy, severed survival was the album that cemented my love for death metal. They were my favorite band for a long time, I didn’t even realize they had a new track out hahahah, I guess I really am out of the loop on following some of the older classics these days. Kind of makes me sad, I remember listening to autopsy every single morning before class in high school wishing for more records. I’ll probable give it a chance but at this point I still love the first two records, I enjoy acts, and I really like the skull grinder EP. Not a huge fan for their other material but i respect it.

@@harryp9067 they were also my biggest inspiration for forming my old band putrid tomb. I saw Chris reifert doing drums and vocals while also writing music and that really gave me the motivation to try to do that. For that reason the group will always hold a special place for me.

One of my favorites is A canorous quintet- Silence Of The World Beyond. Really good old school melodic death metal album.

Spawn of Possession’s Cabinet was really close to making my list. Luciferion’s Demonication (The Manifest) as well.

Great list, i would add the first or second Dismember album, concerning SOP i prefer Incurso, in the same style you may know Anata ? The Conductor's Departure or Under a Stone With no Inscription are both amazing ! Finally, a curiosity that you should listen to....The Shattering - Begins (2005)...a bit amateurish in the sound but very very good !

Yeah incurso is great, it’s probable even more intense than cabinet. I have not heard of The shattering but I will check it out, thanks for the recommendation!
