    Whats happened to good old American pride. My grandmas stove still worked after 30 years. Now a 700.00 stove quits twice in 5 years.

    One thing you failed to mention is: the new part is not adjusted for Nat or propane gas. A good tip is: sit the 2 parts side by side and make sure the orifice on the new part is at the same height as the old part. -PawPaw (retired appliance parts sales)

      yeah. just had to replace the safety valve on mine. "for LP gas installation, the hood should be screwed down against the hood pin. For natural gas installation, the hood should be backed off two or three turns from the hood pin." is the instructions. the hood in question is the orifice/nozzle. 1/2" wrench. hand tight.

    I won't ever buy a fridgidair nothing.ever again. Had a new refrigerator, it broke down with in two years. Ordered part installed it 3 years later broke again. Same thing . New dish washer broke in 4 years , bought a GE.
    And a new stove 5 years ago. And it broke in 3 years. Replace ignitor. And now tonight ignitor and safety valve. Broke. Now place to get parts on thanks giveing and can't cook turkey with 7 guests coming over. Fridgidair sucks. I wouldn't ever buy any thing fridgidair ever. Again. They will break or quit within first 3 years

    My Frigidaire oven is not lighting up. I thought it is igniter is going bad, but after replacing the igniter and it is still same, not lighting up. No gas coming out either.
    Anyone knows what happened?
    Thanks 🙏

      check by your regulator at the back of stove there maybe a little flip switch which turns off the gas to the oven. If your oven don't have one you need to check the safety valve

    Could we use any kind of gas approved thread tape? Of it has to be a paste, due to the heat it may get while using the oven

    The safety valve I need to replace is a Y-30128-35 for a frigidair but it is on average 50 dollars more expensive than the GE Y-30128-77 which seems to look exactly the same (except for a small mounting bracket) and has all the exact same Voltage, Amps, PSI, etc. Can I just use the cheaper one? Thank you in advance!

    I’m converting from NG to propane. I already changed the stovetop but I haven’t found any orfices inside oven.

    Any way to "repair" this type of safety valve vs replacing it. I removed the valve then tapped all around it in an attempt to un-stick it. Then put it back in. Nothing. Then, without putting the bracket back on, tapped it while energized. Nothing. Any tricks besides replacing it?

    • @danwebster7120
      @danwebster7120 5 лет назад

      this is non-repairable however if you do have continuity it may be your ignitor is weak or if water got into the valve its a dead duck.

    I had both boiler and bake not work on my Frigidaire stove at the same time. Does it have something to do with the control panel or this safety gas valve?

    • @Lando1020
      @Lando1020 4 года назад +2

      Possibly the "ignitor" as it signals to valve when to open and allow gas in. There are a couple ways to test ignitor. Do a quick search and you'll find em :)

      @@Lando1020 would they igniter still heat up if the safety is broken

    • @Lando1020
      @Lando1020 3 года назад

      @@ImTheeBatman it's possible. There are different ways the safety valve can fail. For example the safety valve on my stove needed to be replaced because it was not shutting off completely. It had no issue turning on the stove, oven or broiler. It just wouldnt close all the way when everything was off. I had to manually open/close valve at shutoff valve by wall. Safety valve replaced and issue was resolved.
