What is the purpose of the white "cap" at the tip of the regulator? I'm looking at the regulator on my broken stove and it looks "melted." Wondering if the regulator is bad before I start with replacing the igniter and maybe additional parts

I know this is going to sound stupid but is the little plastic cap covering on the front of the regulator? Is that where you convert from Nat Gas to LP?? I took the cap off and I can't figure out what it is? Thanks.
for LP you unscrew it and flip it over and then screw it back in so the nipple side is going into the threadhole..
How do you adjust the pressure on this regulator?
Question. I have gas range that needs new pressure regulator, I had extra regulator at home, same parts number , but spring range in factory parts says NAT 5" , the new parts i have says NAT 6" instead. Can I still use this new regulator that says 6" ? or is it crucial to use exactly the one that says NAT 5" ???

What is the gas pressure in gas pipe before this regulator?
tip #9 - never confuse a dope pipe with pipe dope..

Are you not supposed to use pipe dope on the gas lines that run from the regulator to the oven/stove top?
Yes you do on any threaded fitting
I Dont use pipe dope on compression fittings
@@peterpiekarski4910 since the supply fitting isn't a compression connection its recommended to use pipe dope
@@sunshinemodels1 that guy is asking about compession fittings, on those you dont use pipe dope, the reason behind this is the pipe dope can get in between the compression feral and cause a leak
if a stove has a build in regulator on it do I just need a first stage regulator at the tank?

one question my stove is emmiting carbon monoxide from the top burners do you think it's the regulator that's bad or what can it be
