This is what we meant when we say we miss old villager dialogue. I started playing AC with Wild World and the mean dialogue made my friendships with the animal even more valuable. I actually had a reason to dislike villagers beyond their appearance. And it was even more special when you befriended a mean villager.

played this game alot in the past until a friend borrowed it and then borrowed it to another friend. never saw it again. if i remember correctly, the game generates the town fast foreward for the amount of time it hasnt been played. when you change your ds time in the options foreward for like 2 month, you should have weed everywhere and the animal citizens are changed. i also think in this animal crossing you were just a citizen in this town with no responsibility for others.

About six months after New Horizons came out, I went on Ebay and bought a used copy of Population Growing, Wild World, and City Folk (the games I never played before). The files had not been played in years! The neglect was everywhere, the villagers were blubbering with happiness to see their old human friend (I don’t remember the exact amount of time since I bought these games almost a year ago, but I want to say the Population Growing villagers had not seen a human in 18 years), and the houses I seized control of were festering with cockroaches and had the tackiest furniture/flooring/wallpaper ever! As someone who started playing Animal Crossing when New Leaf came out, it was shocking to see the limitations these older games had. The players had much less to work with, but I could imagine how happy they were when they found something new. They appreciated what they were given and held on to their stuff until something better came along. They had to find creative ways to express themselves with the limitations, whereas now, expression is abundant. It was quite an experience to waddle into towns belonging to people that were children then, grew up, and sold their games either because they needed the money or the village lost its meaning to them. Each town was a time capsule for my eyes only. Because I love playing the games, I did delete the old towns and create my own, but becoming a witness to someone else’s childhood was humbling. I challenge FootofaFerret to play Population Growing! Have fun sending fossils in letters to the Faraway Museum for inspection!

It says something that I've have Wild World for a year, played through countless flea markets, and had to learn that they come to your house to buy things from this video. I really never go home. Also I instantly knew it was Saturday cause of Lyle, my god. I run so fast away from him whenever I play on Saturdays.
You can actually still play online if you use your phone's 4g as a router. That way you can have someone shop at your store so you can unlock the final upgrade. As to what you can do, i recommend sending letters with fruits to your villagers so they can send foreign fruits which you can then plant and sell for a lot. That alongside with fishing, catching bugs, hitting money rocks and selling sea shells and fossils should give you enough money to upgrade your house, buy furniture/items (i really recommend getting a drawer or closet so you can access the storage), donate to Boondox to get the special letters/feathers and increase your Membership Points at the store to get discounts and cute models. Earning money is a real challenge in this game, but it's also incredibly balanced which makes it fun. By the way, villagers will make requests a lot more often in this game and their rewards are great, so talking to them is really benefitial even if they are rude sometimes (which can be funny). Also, planting lots of flowers in each Acre will help you get Perfect Town status. You can create your own paths by talking to Mabel but you can also get some cute ones by feeding Wendell, paths look great in this game so in my opinion it's the best way to make your town look prettier (planting and organizing some greenery also helps). There are lots of Special Visitors in this game and there is a quest in this game where you help them get their favorite items which will reward you with the Golden Axe at the end (you can check which special characters are visiting by talking to Cooper). You should also check the Recycling box everyday, sometimes there are cool items there. Blathers is hilarious in this game, he often talks about eating fish, so i really recommend donating to the museum (also you can make constellations and have a conversation while drinking coffee at the Roost).
Wild World was the first Animal Crossing I've ever played when I got my DS Lite. Yes there's nothing much to do compared to New Leaf or New Horizons, but y'know it's more than enough to keep 10 year old me entertained for hours every day when I played after school. Also I severely miss the animal personality and rude dialogues that was missing in New Horizons. The music is also a real nostalgic banger, I miss it sooo much. Random story: When New Leaf was released, my cousin got me a DS with the game. I was 7 at the time and loved playing around with the custom designs, just went back on last week and found that I had created random designs, for example I had ones named "is space awesome" and "my love rianbows" (yes, rianbows) none of the names capitalized, except for one. It was the default train design, completely untouched, except for one big black smiley face on it. It was named "Laughing Faces." I'm kinda creeped out

OMG the same exact thing happened to me but with New Leaf. I’d never played or heard of the game when I bought it second hand so I ended up playing for a whole year as another citizen before realising I needed to be the mayor for most things to be possible 😂 I never questioned the other house in my town either 💀

I was 7 at the time and loved playing around with the custom designs, just went back on last week and found that I had created random designs, for example I had ones named "is space awesome" and "my love rianbows" (yes, rianbows) none of the names capitalized, except for one. It was the default train design, completely untouched, except for one big black smiley face on it. It was named "Laughing Faces."

you should definitely play New Leaf! it's a big step up from Wild World in terms of what you can do and according to many (incl myself) the best Animal Crossing game in general
Yeah I think I saw an Awkward Zombie comic from like the first few years detailing some of how AC villagers DO NOT LIKE IT if they are abandoned by the player.
I had Goose in New Horizons once, he definitely went to therapy, I can tell ya that much.

fun fact! as a kid i owned animal crossing city folk(basically wild world for the wii) and my favourite villager in my town mustard was freckles! yep, the same one from this video. hes still there! in my town!
OMG the same exact thing happened to me but with New Leaf. I’d never played or heard of the game when I bought it second hand so I ended up playing for a whole year as another citizen before realising I needed to be the mayor for most things to be possible 😂 I never questioned the other house in my town either 💀
