Thank you for creating such great content, I hope to see this channel grow and be able to give better and more detailed, in-depth reviews of bikes as well as other gear & accessories.
I am looking to upgrade from my interceptor. Never bought a CBU bike before. These customer interview helps, glad I came across this channel. Best of luck
That initial story, that was how I got my Himalayan 450. I had no plans to buy that bike, went for test ride with a friend who wanted to buy it and we both ended up buying 😂 friends are to blame.
@@OpenAdventuresI went to ask the price of vstrom 250 for my friend and I myself was planning either an xpulse or a scrambler 400x or himi 450 and I was the one who ended up buying vstrom 😂
Just saw this. I own one right now and am enjoying it a lot. It’s been an amazing bike. My experience with the bike heat is different- I have ridden the bike in peak Bangalore traffic with shorts and enjoyed the ride. So not sure of the heat aspect shared here. But I agree- the bike is amazing
@@OpenAdventures why not make it via Banglore haha, gods when that would happen. Vietnam is yet to issue carnet for bikes. Currently we will get permit only for some SEA countries. Waiting for that carnet thing to kick off.
Im really glad that you guys made this video. I booked my trans alp this week so its like a perfect time to watch it. I have a couple of things ask, 1. As I booked a black bike should i stick to the dunlop tyres or should I ask for metzellers? 2. I stand 6'5 tall and I weight about 100 kilos, if possible suggest a good rear shock (preferably which increases the seat height) 3. How did you convert your tyres to tubeless
Thanks Vishaal. 1. Both tyres are equally good and Honda doesn't really give you an option. You get the tyre based on what colour you book. 2. This is an ongoing discussion on the Transalp whatsapp group, however no one has concluded on a third party suspension setup yet 3. The conversion was done with Outex
I have been seeing Pranav and Abhijeet on Instagram for quite sometime. So happy to listen to this podcast and their stories on how they landed on their Transalps ❤❤❤
Anyone aware what is the issue with sw motech accessories for transalp? Also if possible can you please share the information about outex kit conversion in Bangalore?
The issue with SW is that it tends to add vibes to the bike. But it's the issue with 1-2 bikes only. Hepco in that case hasn't had that issue across. I got the outex myself through ebay and got it installed by Manju at the motorrad house. You can also get it installed at the service center.
Let us get Abhijitt to answer about the SW Motech crash guards. As far as Outex is concerned, at the moment, it doesn't seem to be 'in stock' in India (Rs. 16,000). Your best bet is to ask someone outside of India to buy the kit for you (they will get it for cheaper in the US). Then you can get it installed in Bangalore at several reputed local garages. The garage some of us have used to do this is Motorrad House (Manju) who charges Rs. 5,000 for installation.
Hey @@abhijitt_murugan, Thanks for your response 🙂 Went for the test ride last week and can also say proudly that, I am one among the Royal Enfielder to Imperial Honda converts now 😅
@@OpenAdventures thank you guys for sharing the information 🙂. Getting the kit from the US sounds like a better plan. Btw thanks for producing awesome and informative videos. Cheers 🍻🍻
I just have one phobia... Coming from Honda Hness owner, transalp has tube tyres. If I get it for adventure touring which its made for, then tube tyres make me re-think if bike gets a puncture it would be a hazzle to fix. I know there are ways to do conversion to tubeless but reliability comes into picture. Any light on if one should worry about tube tyres in 2024 for adventure tourer bike would be very helpful. I know 800 de has same setup. Looking from perspective of adventure tourer and not offroad adventurer. Some off road is expected though not crazy ones. 😅 Loved the podcast. Have listened to other videos as well with NX500 and transalp vs 800 de. 😊
It's a valid concern that you have. Unfortunately the only option is to swap the rims or get an outex conversion done. If you don't wish to shell out that much another option is to get a thicker tube.
What a fantastic interview! Great questions and vibe, Sriram. Abhijit seems to be chill and downright candid in sharing his views. Abhijit, can you tell us how tall you are?
The interviewer was just not interested in tubeless rims. 😅 every time Abhijit brought up that pain point, Sriram brushed that aside. I was curious to know how's the Outex working for him.
Hey man great video I.was wondering how do you find the people for their ownership review and all the stories. Would love to be in a podcast with you so day in the future Cheers keep up the great work
@@OpenAdventures I will ask why not in India, there are a lot of expressway and highways in India where it can used. Even on my R15 I can maintain 90-95 on the highway easily.
A lot of us have not been able to maintain a constant speed for more than 30 seconds given our traffic conditions, road conditions, stray dogs, cows and people (Yes. Even on highways). So we don't really see the point
@@OpenAdventures I don't about banglore but on my recent trip from Delhi to Banaras there were alot of stretches were one could use the cruise control and no people or animal were there atleast in my trip. Plus it's an adv tourer. So I'm pretty sure there will be a lot of such roads in India where you can maintain 100-120 kmph. But surely can't neglect the animals and people on the road.
Sriramji and Abhijit, very nice content. Just need an opinion. I currently own an Interceptor and prior to that i had a Benelli TNT 300, which i sold during COVID. I am planning to upgrade. I am finding it bit difficult to decided between Z900 and Transalp. I see lot of Z900 in seconds market as compared to any other superbikes, which makes me feel that Z900 owners get bored within a short span of time. Thanks to Abhijit, you have answered most of the questions that i had in mind regarding Transalp. My requirement is a touring bike. I do not go on trails. The only concern with transalp is tube tyres. I do not want to spend additional 1.5 lakhs for Africa twin wheels. Instead, i can get a tiger 850 sport. Alternate option is Outex!! is it reliable? should i invest on tyres again if i have to go tubeless? help me out here guys!
If your requirement is a touring bike, then the Transalp or the 850 Sport are good options (but we think that the Transalp is more fun while the Tiger is the better handler with better brakes and suspension) Either way, you should be fine no matter what you choose between these 2. The Z900 is way more powerful and fun but compromises on comfort for "touring" due to the genre of bike it is. Test ride both more to get clarity on what you want. An ADV is what you're going to end with anyway when you get old.
I've heard a lot of indian reviewers that the bike heats up and they get cooked, damn, the weather and the traffic out there must be terrible, indeed, the bike heats up in heavy traffic, but on mine, the fan comes on at about 105 degrees, and i didn't feel any heat on my legs, not even in 40 degrees celsius when i was paddling through traffic.

Took me 1 hr and 15 mins almost to be back at the showroom. Out of which 40 mins spent in city speeds. Surprisingly noticed that even though I was in 4th or 5th gear in many places, speeds were just 20 to 40kmph. Mileage showed up as 17.7 when starting...in the end it was around 18.8 or 18.9
