I've been on a Craftsman binge of sorts these past few weeks and I can honestly say I've learned more from this video than the others COMBINED! Wonderfully done sir. And your honesty at the end is very much appreciated!
I treated myself to a pair of the Comfort Craftsmans in tobacco suede, and liked them so much I bought a second pair in mid-brown leather, so I'd have a pair to use when it's raining. I'm 54; it's comforting to know I'll have them for the rest of my life.
So happy that I picked up a few pairs just before they raised the prices again, they are super comfy and great for everyday office wear here in Aus but also very nice to wear with jeans or chinos on the weekends. Their customer service is top notch for fitting and any exchanges, found that most of the staff in store are very knowledgeable & passionate on the brand and shoe care. Will definitely be buying a kangaroo pair as my next boot! Thanks for another great video, keep up the good work on these boot reviews.
This video is by far the best and most informative on the subject! Well done. I have close ties with South Australia and my Grandfather knew the Williams family. I have been wanting to buy a pair of these boots for a while and I am just about to pull the trigger.
Hi from the UK. I have just purchased this very pair of boots after much research and debate and I must say I'm very impressed. They feel great from the first moment. I'm a bit of a shoe snob and have to say theses are fantastic. Great review and information here. Many Thanks
loved the review, and love RM williams. the problems i have had with them is their inconsistancy being chealsea boots despsite being the same size all fit my different. the first ones i bought in store were perfect but every pair that followed have fit different! anyways you are the best boot reviewer on youtube right now and dont get the credit you deserve. despite you telling me on facebook my redyed grant stones were better beforehand! :P
I’ve always liked RM Williams boots, but you’re right, maybe a little on the pricey side. There’s lots of competition in the Chelsea boot market. Grant Stone have a fabulous Chelsea boot, and Loake also have a great looking boot that I know is made very well, too.
I have black and chestnut pairs of comfort craftsmen, they're incredibly comfortable, especially compared to other boots I own and wear. I plan to get pairs of rm's macquarie and their yearling boot with the higher heel soon.
Hello Tek! Just for info, please note that the construction of this type of rubber sole model, consists in a fiberboard insole, check cobblers plus inc videos for more info. Thanks!
Great review. I have a pair of these but recently bought some Kangaroo Comfort craftsmen form the RM Williams DFO. They take the comfort to a whole new level. They are like slippers. Anyway, love your channel. Keep it up. Would love to see hwo you store all your boots mate!
Just realised you’ve mentioned the comfort version has a foam cavity filled midsole which is something that Rose Anvil recently showed and commented it was a sign of a decline in quality. But given this video was made earlier than his, and he was comparing the comfort line to the craftsman line…I think his comparison might have been unfair. It would be interesting to compare the very early comforts to the recent comfort craftsmans ie. comparing apples to apples. Thanks for this video, cheers.
Thanks for the reviews! I ordered the Dynamic Flex a few days ago. This version seems to get less attention despite having leather/rubber soles (best of both worlds?)… Needed orthotic work shoes. Great excuse to buy a pair of RMWs!
Canadian here - 595AUD is is around 510CAD. RMW are sold exclusively through Australian Boot Company retail outlets here (or the RMW website, of course). Regardless, the Comfort Craftsman is now 699CAD (before 13% tax) resulting in out-the-door price of ~800CAD (which is ~920AUD). This has moved RMW into "silly" price category for many RMW fans here...personally was going to get another in the new 'Rum' colourway, but not anymore :(
You could import them for less than that, as long as you know your size which it sounds like you could easily get sized up correctly for. Longer wait time, but much better value. Definitely give it a look.
I have 3 pairs of craftsman and absolutely love them !!!! How many boots in total do you have Tek???Not just your RM williams boots but ALL your boots ?
Sir, I have a pair that has a orange/reddish sole, I believe its leather soles, the upper is light chestnut color, do you know what range is it and what possible type of leather it might be? Thank you so much.
Very informative.I tried the Comfort Craftsman, but unfortunately the synthetic insole leads to squeaking. Wish they had topped the foam with leather. Now getting the classic leather sole version instead. As of 2022 the price in the UK is £399
Awesome video ... I have a pair that I've had for 15 years. LOL. I polish them up 2 times a year and they are as good as new if not better and they've had to endure Canadian winters. Incredible boot.
Lovey boot, is the heel leather stacked ? I'm thinking of buying the boot and I live in a state with no RM Williams stores what is the best way to buy and get the correct fit ? Cheers..
Their price went up some more in the last couple of days unfortunately, so now even more pricey. Love the boots and owned a number of pairs but the recent price hike definitely put me off in getting some more.
I have a pair of Tambo boots that I am about the replace, and I’m contemplating trying the comfort sole line…. What’s your thoughts, are they ‘better’ than the original soles? Do they take up more room in the boot making boot feel tighter?
Are the leather sole boots also made for yards? And the comfort sole as well. Historically weren’t the leather sole out before the non slip sole , am I right or have I got that wrong
Fantastic review!!! I have to admit I have the signature craftsman in black and I love them. But they ARE overpriced. I got some church’s Houston boots that have 95% of the finishing and a cooler (John Lennon factor) shape for $460!!?!?
Hi Tek! I got a pair in Black Yearling. I looked at the recommended cleaning products and they are affordable, but the shipping from Australia to the US is more thanks all 3 products combined! Would you recommend other products be used on their yearling leather? (I have red wing cream, bick4, and venetian cream). Thank you!
I have bought at least a doz pairs of RMW boots over the years and wear them almost every day. I order them with the neoprene (rubber) sole as the leather soles wear much quicker by comparison. A RMW boot maker recommended I should have two pairs and wear each pair on alternate days to allow the inners to air and dry out thereby preserving the inner leather far longer. Last pair purchased this year were chestnut Macquarie boots for $600 (now $650) but given they should last over 10 years and they are so well built, instantly wearable and Australian owned and made, I reckon it is good value and money well spent. Great boots with remarkable Aussie heritage and thankfully back in Aussie hands. Look after it Twiggie
Hello gents, I received a comfort turnout today. Ordered 6.5 Uk but on the outsole size is written as 6+ G Is it normal for RMs to write + instead of .5? Any advise?
I have watched the 2 videos Rose Anvil has on these boots. The first one was 4 years ago and when he pulled the boot apart the quality was there. But when he reviewed the boot this years since “Twiggy” Forrest has bought the company it has drastically declined in quality. The leather is only 3mm now, a fake leather insole and a couple of other issues. Definately not worth the price tag of over $600 nowadays.
Most uncomfortable shoe I’ve ever worn. Supposed to be snug as they are supposed to “mould” to your feet but I can’t wear them long enough! As an Aussie it’s embarrassing that these are seen as such an icon. Don’t waste your money.

Hi am planning to buy a pair but not sure if I should get leather sole or non slip sole which one you think is better
Teik I am new here and wanna say I just love your channel and reviews. I can listen to you narrate the weather tbh. All the best from the US.
Are you going to do Grant Stone Chelsea or Carmina one? Wonder how those compare to these?

I work at a boot shop in SA and pretty much everyone that wears the dynamic flex prefers them heaps more than comfort. To be honest I agree too
Great review, thank you. Pricing is now more like $649.
Brilliant review. Well done
How the heck do you get these so shiney!!?
A lot of brushing!!

They went fill viberg. I hate when companies do this, there’s no way that much of a premium needs to be attachedz
Hello tha ks for a great video.
How do t
You get the boots so shiny like this? I'd like mine to look like that please help
There’s plenty of videos on RUclips on mirror shines. It takes a bit of elbow grease!
Would love your thoughts on Trimly boot trees
I have them and they are a nice product
Exceptional product and fit perfectly in your RM boots. I bought a pair last week

Is it ok to snip off the tabs ( so they don't ride up when wearing pants)?

What's your opinion of the comfort craftsman in Kangaroo leather vs the yearling leather?
Superb leather, thinner and supple yet strong

Awesome such cool boots!😍
Lovey boot, is the heel leather stacked ? I'm thinking of buying the boot and I live in a state with no RM Williams stores what is the best way to buy and get the correct fit ? Cheers..
Leather stacked, yes. My suggestion is to write to RM with examples of your other fits, but best advice is to hold out until you can get to a store
thx@@Bootlosophy
great sir🥰🥰🥰🥰
What do you think of the RM Williams hightop cowboy boots?
Their price went up some more in the last couple of days unfortunately, so now even more pricey. Love the boots and owned a number of pairs but the recent price hike definitely put me off in getting some more.
Another $50. Nice one Twiggy!
Great review! I cant decide which one to get comfort Craftsman or craftsman with leather sole. Which one looks aesthetically better?
The leather soled Craftsman is marginally sleeker and formal. The Comfort Craftsman is a lot more comfortable.
I have a pair of Tambo boots that I am about the replace, and I’m contemplating trying the comfort sole line…. What’s your thoughts, are they ‘better’ than the original soles? Do they take up more room in the boot making boot feel tighter?
I don’t find a lot of extra room being taken, but they sure are better than just the leather under foot
Man RM Williams are impossible to find on the USA.
Order from their US website mate!
Bloomingdale's
thanks for the review! how do they compare to the grant stone chelseas overall?
I don’t have a pair of @grantstone Chelsea’s to compare!
I know guys wear them for work but how do they go if you did lots of walking ?
They’re worn on Australian stock yards and in paddocks mustering cattle. I reckon they wouldn’t be worn there if they’re not comfortable
Are the leather sole boots also made for yards? And the comfort sole as well. Historically weren’t the leather sole out before the non slip sole , am I right or have I got that wrong
What about suede skin

Yes the + signifies 1/2
@@Bootlosophy thank you
Great reviews, probably the best on RUclips. It would be perfect without the politics.
But then, it wouldn’t be Bootlosophy
Despite chelsea boots were invented in the UK, do you think RM Williams is the world most iconic brand for chelsea boots today?
I do!
John Lennon used to wear the church’s Houston boot. It’s also great but the seam isn’t as good as the RM
