Hello, I'm using mods since the day I bought the game, and I love them. I really hope this video could make people realise that mods are essential to the game, and more content creators to use them.
Hello! First off thank you for showcasing one of my most beloved projects as thumbnail. I can tell you that I’ve been into this game since Day 1, and I’ve been modding for it since April 2020. I also remember you being one of the first youtubers making and showing their zoos, including builds, patterns, aesthetics, etc. With this video, you showed the whole world that Planet Zoo and its modding community (me included) have come a long way in the last 4 years. Last time I modded was from late February/early March of this year, however despite I didn’t mod since then I still look at my projects like they were finished yesterday. They are like kids to me, although there are some that stand out more than others but still. And I’m glad that there are youtubers like you with a big audience who really appreciate and support what I and other modders have been doing in the last 4 years. I wish you can enjoy all what we’ve been offering to you and all the people around the Internet, because you can have the best of the Planet Zoo experience.
Oh hellooooo Havok ❤ Thank you so much for commenting and for everything you do for the Planet Zoo modding community ❤ I absolutely LOVE the remaster of the Lion! It is so incredibly well made ❤❤❤❤ Well done! Its my pleassure to (finally) give a stage and voice via my channel to what incredible mods are out there and to show some of the masterpieces created by the super talented modding community so far ❤ I am sure that, especially when game development ends for Planet Zoo there will be so many people jumping into mods (who may not want to right away, which is totally fine) so I am super excited to see what the future of mods will bring for Planet Zoo ❤ Excited times! Thank you so much for your kind words ❤
@@jesss7930 Hello Moon Fox! I didn’t expect to see you here, I still remember those times when we saw each other in the PZ Modding Discord. Thanks for sharing your thoughts about my projects. I hope you’re enjoying the game with them.
Short answer for remaster mods, YES. They are super easy to install, super safe to use, and give some amazing glow ups and color variants to the animals that needed more love.
@@DeLadysigner also forgot to mention they (usually) don't break between updates, so you can install them once and they'll work forever without needing to redownload them.
Leaf said I should come here and say mods are cool, glad to see more people enjoying them, and for those that don't it's fine, when support ends you can check them out and maybe you'll find something you like, and if quality worries you, be sure that we're constantly revisiting old mods to improve when possible :)
Hey I was wondering if Remasters that add new Variants will have those new variants show up in the Franchise mode, either in the market from other players or through randomly occuring genetics.
@@WraithGG I've seen people comment that they get them through genetics and then those same people can sell them on the market, ofc only the players that have the mod installed will see them, and if you uninstall the remaster they'll revert back to a default variant.
As someone with experience with mods in PZ, I want to put out my vouch for them…they are AMAZING!! And it feels JUST like ingame. The only con with me using them is getting overwhelmed with the choices of which animal to choose for a habitat-I highly recommend them for everyone involved and the community is such a godsend. Thank you Leaf for coming on here!!
Two favorite Planet Zoo content creators in same video...👍 Didn't use remasters so far but I am eternally thankful for roe deer and wild boar mods... Can't imagine an European zoo without them.
Really nice hearing Leaf's voice on your channel! And I'm really hoping this opens people up to mods who might not otherwise be into it... As a regular user, I can say that hiccups are rare (and he really means it when he says people are helpful when issues arise). I tend to use remasters more frequently than in-game species but there are some fantastic new species out there! TBH, it's just nice being able to have more variety with sub-species or to have animals that are likely too niche for a DLC pack... But still not uncommon in zoos and straight-up adorable (e.g., the Kodkod and Owston's Palm Civet - both by Gabboi)!
I always like using remasters for certain basegame animals (like the bears, and the flamingos, which are permanently bugged) but haven't used any other mods yet... there are already so many basegame and DLC animals that I haven't felt the need yet! I appreciate the modding scene so much though for the future longevity of the game.
Haha that is so true! I still havnt even played with all animals yet and build a habitat for them, while playing the game for 4 years now, lol ❤️ But mods are definitely going to help to keep the game alive in the future when development ends ❤️ No doubt about that!
I started "adding" mods about a year ago, just to see if the quality was agreeable. And I must say that it has been a complete gamechanger for me, it will keep the game alive for a much longer time span. The modding community has added so much good stuff, and if you're just careful and cautious you will experience very little issues/problems. As of now, I have played around with about 40 remasters and 150 new species and I think I have had only 1 that repeatedly seemed to crash my game. Some of the mods are sooo good it kind of blows me away. So thanks to Leaf, to Narwhaler, to Gabboi, to Havoc and all of the other mod creators, Planet Zoo will have a brighter future, regardless of what Frontier do or do not add. And it was very nice to see this collaboration video. I had waited for this! Thank you DeLadysigner!
Personally, I'm using most of the remasters, the Echidna for the Australia zone in one of my sandbox zoos and some Petting Zoo animals. I enjoy all of them a lot. I have looked at some other "new species" mods, but restrained myself to just ones I'm actually going to immediately use/house so far. I am a little afraid to completely clutter my game, because at the end of the day they're all so cute and I could happily download so many. 😆
Hahaha thats a smart idea to only download and install animals you really want to use at that point :) that definitely avoids having too many animals to pick from, hahaha ❤ Thank you so much for sharing ❤
I remember your modded Zoo Tycoon 2 playthrough a few years back on your Dutch channel. I would certainly like more mod videos for Planet Zoo from you.
I'm still wary of mods adding new animals and objects, but I've used remasters for a long time! They're great for revitalising animal designs and encouraging you to use animals you don't often use in your zoos.
I don’t use mods but I’m fascinated that a lot of people are opposed to them. I used to mod the shit out of Skyrim, and it made that game last for years and years. I plan to get into mods once I’ve played more vanilla. Mods will always be the future, and we should be really thankful that the game is so amenable to mods. Loved this video!
As I'm worried about the fact that game could come to an end in the coming year, I started to make a list of the mods I find interesting and I could use. I listed 90 interesting mods and I put aside all the fishes because they're quite difficult to incorporate un the game imo. This being said, most of them are really well done! Anyway, modders do a great job.
Super glad to see you and Leaf talk about mods. Modding really enhanced my gameplay and enjoyment. A million thumbs up! I have always used mods and LOVE how they enhance the game. I'm very excited to see my favority PZ RUclipsr is now considering them as well.
I have never used mods for any Frontier games until well after the support cycle has ended, as keeping up to date with the changes can be a bit of a hassle, and usually, the early days mods have a long way to go in matching Frontier's quality. But PZ is definitely just about at the point where it is time to dive in, so I am really happy to have this series to break everything down in a really clear manner!
So happy to hear you like it! Ill also be waiting, just like you until official development ends. But its really great to get an idea what is out there for sure ❤️
I love mods and the modding community! Frontier official content will always be the best quality and I’ll always buy official content, but mods keep the game fun and fresh between DLC releases. The modders have made it so stable, safe and easy to use. My game has never broken because of mods.
I would have never thought of Mods 😭 but I just never hear anyone say anything abt mods (that I watch) but I want to use mods now!! But it's still holding back bc I still wanna get all the other packs than just having 3, and I just don't want to risk it breaking Can't wait for the next parts, I saw a Numbat, and their my top six fav animals
Haha yes, it's exactly also one of the reasons why I am still holding back on mods. I am too worried my game will break hihihi, but super happy and excited to jump into mods when the game is completely finished with development ❤
@@DeLadysigner yea, after watching this, I went to watch how to download them. I only downloaded single animals and not the mod packs. I tried the pack ones and they kept crashing. So far I got some moss from Leaf, and some from others. I don't have much mods rn but soon I feel like I'll have 200 by the end of November lol
Personally, I don't have anything against mods. I'm actually going to be using Animal Remasters in an upcoming project to make some of the cartoonish looking base game animals look more on par with the current day animals. In terms of scenery mods and new species mods however I'm pretty strict on waiting until Support is officially over to use them. Just I guess out of some respect for Frontier and how hard they work on the game. It's not that I think modders are being disrespectful, it's just my own rule I have for myself I guess lol.
Yeah totally understand and I think thats also super fair and kind of you to do ❤ I think for me its a bit of both, altho I love the mods that are out there so far, I am also a bit worried about breaking my game still.. So I just feel super safe and comfortable to just wait until the development of the game ends before ever really jumping into mods and adding more and new animals in the game. That said, I am super happy and excited to see what the modding community so far has achieved and how bright the future of Planet Zoo looks even well development ends ❤
Just started a mild addiction to this game, so this was incredibly helpful thank you. PZ+, remasters and some animals, seems to be the way to go for me. would love an aquatic section of a park but the models are a bit stiff for now. Will check out the fish though (if there is a part 2), some deep ocean would be great with jellyfish and bioluminescent ones.
So happy to hear you lke this modding series and are enjoying Planet Zoo ❤️ We havent got time yet to jump into a part 2 modding series, but its still somewhere on our to-do list, hihi 😊
Remaster mods are good (even though Frontier should be doing them, because like Leaf said they don't break the game if there's an update. With gameplay mods or new animals i tend to wait for end of support, because i just can't be bothered with having a broken game until the mod creators update their mod. Also having to manually update each individual mod is another reason i don't use mods very often.
I'm nervous of Mods until the game officially ends. Its also hard to figure out which Mods i would like, until someone creates a list of the best mods, and a step by step in how to install them.
I uswd mods for Zoo Tycoon 2, Jurassic Park Operation Genesis, and Jurassic World Evolution 1. I have yet to download some for PlanZo because I'm waiting for support to end, but once it does, I'm gonna download all the best remastered mods. I'd love it if they could group all of them together into 1 file
I have used mods in the past and they worked fine. It's just that I think I will use mods again when Planetzoo is done with the updates and content :) Cause of the constant updating I just stopped using mods
The one thing I dislike about new animal mods is that modders can't give them custom sounds, it keeps me from using most of them. Though I guess they'll be able to do that once Frontier is done with the game, can't wait. I do have a bunch of guineafowl roaming around the zoo though, since they're common in zoos here in Brazil, they're very noisy in real life, but I can deal with their silence. I gave them tiny paths so they can come in and out of some African habitats. I also use some fish mods, they look awesome with animals like hippo.
I have modded games since sims 3 because so many mods were needed to fix the game to make it functional. I'm looking forward to adding some to PZ for animals I really REALLY want that won't ever get added to the game.
Hi DeLady:) Do you still remeber me lol I was a big fan of you for like sinds you hitted 100k and I think you r doing great and I hope you hit 1m soon :p okkk cya!
I've never tried mods or remasters, but I'm happy with the animals in the base game and dlc and still think that my most wanted animals could be a possibility in the near future... nice to see leaf on the channel too though 😄
@DeLadysigner Wolverines, Howler Monkeys, Honey Badgers, Sugar Gliders, Tree Kangeroos, Secretary Birds, and still waiting on those ocelots and African leopards 🐆😂
I would use mods, I just don't know how to install and activate them lol But I know there are enough tutorials on that. I'd just need to have some time looking into it
Despite some phenomenal work, I don’t like most big cats, they all look kind of odd. Strange that they never changed them themselves (don’t fix what’s not Broken I guess)
With that I don't agree as I been playing the game without mods for the past 4 years and still not planning on using them (apart from the PZ mod to hide some stuff in the ground), haha ❤
Hi delady! I have a question about the game. Whenever I click on the construction, nature, facilities or blueprint tab it doesn’t come up. It just stays green. This has been happening for a while now. I don’t know if you know how to fix it but if you do then please can you tell me? Thank you ❤
We cover it in my PlanCo 2 speculation video ruclips.net/video/_ObJFI7HL9U/видео.htmlsi=FuPCrbCaZkOY2zz6 😊 However, video is already a bit outdated as frontier recently announced lay offs of 20% of their staff recently, so the future of the whole company is pretty uncertain at this point and what they will focus on. I want to make a video about that as well, but still trying to find some more information and let it all sink in before I want to share my thoughts about that 😊
oh, i'll watch that vid too then. that's a bummer to hear especially considering PZ is what, the first zoo game after the early 2000s? sigh@@DeLadysigner
@@uronuklearec9745 it launched in 2019, but wasnt the only zoo game over the past years, but definitely the better one 😅 We have to wait and see what the future will bring.. there definitely is a chance that frontier decides to focus on games that do well (still) regarding sales, of which planet zoo seems to be a good game still, so it could be they decide to continue development for a longer time since it provides them with a stable income. Its really hard to tell at this point what their plans are and what the future will bring 😅
welp, hopes up, ive only been playing for an hour or two and already think this is one of the best building-style games i've played. your vids also helped me decide on the DLCs, so thank you for that :)@@DeLadysigner
@@uronuklearec9745 im so happy to hear you are enjoying yourself ❤️ Definitely make sure to watch tutorials on RUclips because they can be so helpful when you are new to the game🙏❤️ And agreed! The game is just freaking amazing 😅 (else I would not be playing it none stop since 2019, hahaha) ❤️
I'm not using mods. I don't know why, but I just really don't like the idea of mods for this game. I use mods in other games, but never this one... no idea why I dislike them so much for Planet Zoo.
Haha, well maybe through out this series you are able to tell more why or why not, I dont know, maybe, maybe not ❤ Curious to hear your opinion again after the last episode ❤
For Planet Zoo, I don’t use mods. A lot of people say that the base game animals aren’t good, but I disagree. They aren’t perfect, but they are still really good (except the spotted hyena that one is atrocious)
All this information can also be found in the description of this video :) but since this was one recording cut down into different parts, some information will be covered later, hihi ❤ Sorry about that ❤
I don't use mods because I don't think they look as good as frontier's animals. They also make the wrong sounds, which is really annoying. Some of the remasters I will admit do look better but most mods from what I've seen just don't reach that Frontier standard
Yeah totally understand. For some animals its really not a problem to use the same audio and animations of animals of the normal game (I mean, how many animals have the bongo sounds? LOOOL! Too many if you ask me) Hahaha, so even in the normal game it happens a lot. But totally agree as well that some animals look incredible, but the animations or audio can turn me off for using them, because it just doesn't feel or look well.. I really hope frontier will give modders the tools in the future to make animations and changing audio a lot easier ❤
Mods are cool and all but I’ve seen ton of people hating on planet zoo animals and saying mods are way better it’s OK if you like mods but then why buy the game and hate everything the creators made also mods are completely unavailable to any Consol players
*dies* as a person who doesn’t have a pc that can’t download mods all because of those stupid files this makes me upset that non mod creators are dying
I am also very curious why you think mods are pointless :) ? Obviously it's totally fine if you don't like them or you don't want to use them, but like, we will cover a range or new animals in the episode that will drop today and I can't really see why new animals being added to the game would be pointless? hihi ❤ Please share with us Zach, I am in all honesty just super curious to hear more why you think this way ❤

Awesome video!!! Sorry I have not been around for a while
Oooh dont worry Alex! I hope you are doing well? 😃❤️
@@DeLadysigner thanks :) and I'm doing great :) same with you?
@@alexb859 Doing alright too! Thank you ❤️
@@DeLadysigner any time :)
Yes, totally agree here ❤
I'm nervous of Mods until the game officially ends. Its also hard to figure out which Mods i would like, until someone creates a list of the best mods, and a step by step in how to install them.
hi! I have a new tutorial going out on my channel soon, and the best mods are whatever you want!
@@LeafProductions Sounds perfect, I will definitely keep an eye out.
That would be great! But as they are not made by the same creators, im not sure if that will ever happen :) but we shall wait and see! ❤️
I have used mods in the past and they worked fine. It's just that I think I will use mods again when Planetzoo is done with the updates and content :) Cause of the constant updating I just stopped using mods
the good thing is remasters dont require updates!
Yeah totally understand ❤
The one thing I dislike about new animal mods is that modders can't give them custom sounds, it keeps me from using most of them. Though I guess they'll be able to do that once Frontier is done with the game, can't wait.
I do have a bunch of guineafowl roaming around the zoo though, since they're common in zoos here in Brazil, they're very noisy in real life, but I can deal with their silence. I gave them tiny paths so they can come in and out of some African habitats.
I also use some fish mods, they look awesome with animals like hippo.
I've been using Mods in Sims 4 for years, can't believe I never thought to use them with this game.
Oh you are definitely not the only one 😅❤️
I have modded games since sims 3 because so many mods were needed to fix the game to make it functional. I'm looking forward to adding some to PZ for animals I really REALLY want that won't ever get added to the game.
Hi DeLady:)
Do you still remeber me lol
I was a big fan of you for like sinds you hitted 100k and I think you r doing great and I hope you hit 1m soon :p
okkk cya!
Aaaw ❤️ Welcome back ❤️
Ill definitely use mods after the game stops support
YES ❤
Mods are great! If frontier are not going to give us the content we want than we will do it ourselves
Haha YES!
I havent used mods for fear of breaking my game, but maybe ill give it a go for some of these awesome remaster (cough Lion cough)
Hahaha 😅 Remasters should be pretty safe to use for what Leaf told us, so you should be good ❤️
Yes!
YES ❤
Tip: go for remasters and mods that add new scenery. Dont go for animal mods because their education mechanics are bugged. Experienced it myself
this is objectively false btw :) we fixed this many updates ago
I've never tried mods or remasters, but I'm happy with the animals in the base game and dlc and still think that my most wanted animals could be a possibility in the near future... nice to see leaf on the channel too though 😄
Curious! What are your most wanted animals? 😃
@DeLadysigner Wolverines, Howler Monkeys, Honey Badgers, Sugar Gliders, Tree Kangeroos, Secretary Birds, and still waiting on those ocelots and African leopards 🐆😂
So not much lol
COLLAB OF THE CENTURY
Aaaw ❤️
I would use mods, I just don't know how to install and activate them lol
But I know there are enough tutorials on that. I'd just need to have some time looking into it
i have a great new tutorial for 2023 coming out!
Despite some phenomenal work, I don’t like most big cats, they all look kind of odd. Strange that they never changed them themselves (don’t fix what’s not Broken I guess)
i think all the big cats have a remaster by now, wich are safe to try out. definetly fixes them to be just right.
You mean you don't like the big cats in game or the remaster mods?
Leaaaaaaf 😍😍😍😍
slay
hahaha ❤
Leaf and Delany sitting in a tree k i s and nice marriage
Right.......
Without mods this Game was die 2 years ago.
Thank you ❤
I think you should just send a report to frontier via their forums or the issue tracker :)
possible end of planet zoo? but i just got it, does that mean a sequel or something?
We cover it in my PlanCo 2 speculation video ruclips.net/video/_ObJFI7HL9U/видео.htmlsi=FuPCrbCaZkOY2zz6 😊
However, video is already a bit outdated as frontier recently announced lay offs of 20% of their staff recently, so the future of the whole company is pretty uncertain at this point and what they will focus on.
@@uronuklearec9745 im so happy to hear you are enjoying yourself ❤️ Definitely make sure to watch tutorials on RUclips because they can be so helpful when you are new to the game🙏❤️
And agreed! The game is just freaking amazing 😅 (else I would not be playing it none stop since 2019, hahaha) ❤️
I wonder if this would finally kill my laptop 😂
Hahaha I think you will be alright 🥰
I'm not using mods. I don't know why, but I just really don't like the idea of mods for this game. I use mods in other games, but never this one... no idea why I dislike them so much for Planet Zoo.
Haha, well maybe through out this series you are able to tell more why or why not, I dont know, maybe, maybe not ❤ Curious to hear your opinion again after the last episode ❤
For Planet Zoo, I don’t use mods. A lot of people say that the base game animals aren’t good, but I disagree. They aren’t perfect, but they are still really good (except the spotted hyena that one is atrocious)
I definitely don't agree with that either. The animals in Planet Zoo are fantastic :D ❤
Not late but not that fast😂
Hahaha better late than never ❤
how can you add mods to planet zoo an more importent how can you find the remasters
so handy video btw
Nexus Mods and check out my installation tutorial
thanks@@LeafProductions
All this information can also be found in the description of this video :) but since this was one recording cut down into different parts, some information will be covered later, hihi ❤ Sorry about that ❤
@@kirukiru5924leaf? Weet niet waar ik moet zoeken haha
do uplay palnet zo
When is the ego zoo video going online i waited the hol day but if it not going online it dosnt mather😂
Sorry about that :) I made a post on my community wall and discord that I skipped one Eco Island Park episode due to some personal reasons ❤️
@@DeLadysigner oh okay it doesnt mather
❤️
I don't have a very good laptop at the moment and it barely runs planet zoo at the best of times so that's why I don't use mods 😂
Make sure to try GeforceNow! I heard a lot of good stories of people being able to play Planet Zoo with GeForce Now on potatoe computers 😝

I'm subscribed to your RUclips aswell why can't I access the discord channels :( 👉👈
My discord is pretty much closed for chatting since 2021 😊 You can read more about that in the server_status room 😊
Sorry about that ❤️
I don't use mods because I don't think they look as good as frontier's animals.
*dies* as a person who doesn’t have a pc that can’t download mods all because of those stupid files this makes me upset that non mod creators are dying
what do you mean? are you playing on geforce now? otherwise if you play through steam you can mod no issue
Im very confused about the comment as well.. I mean, you need to have Steam in order to play it on GeForce Now?
As cool as some are, I personally think mods are pointless. I honestly would refuse to use them if I was a content creator
im just curious haha how are they pointless?
I am also very curious why you think mods are pointless :) ? Obviously it's totally fine if you don't like them or you don't want to use them, but like, we will cover a range or new animals in the episode that will drop today and I can't really see why new animals being added to the game would be pointless? hihi ❤ Please share with us Zach, I am in all honesty just super curious to hear more why you think this way ❤
I don't think mods are worth it.
Thank you so much for sharing you opinion :) curious if your opinion will change after watching the future episodes of this series :)
