I just subscribed. I like your energy. I like the fact that you recycle and take stuff others throw away. You recycle, repurpose or resell. That's unheard of in todays society. I have seen a few video's where you usually pass on those little tables or end tables etc. My niece was somewhere and she got a huge gallon like container of a really good furniture stripper for $2.00. Then she saw a gallon of paint marked $40 but clearance for $3.00 and it was "matte black". She'll run her for brush really fast over a stand like you just picked up. She then powerwashes lightly the gel off the stand. She grabs some old towels and pats it dry. The next day she applies the black paint. Two coats. She picks these stands up for free all the time. She had over 2 dozen ready and stored in MY garage LOL. She put up a sign $20. It took her almost 6 hours but she sold all 2 dozen. People stopped, looked and could not believe how "high end" they looked. Especially in the designs. She said "Some of these tables are 50 years old. They were stained with old varnish so I redid them. Off Craigslist, we got 8 different dressers that were free for pickup. She actually ran an ad that she wanted anything free so the could "experiment stripping and repainting". She got over 30 emails. Quite a few of those dressers did NOT get painted. They were lightly sanded a few times and then we bought some stain and miniwax to buff them. Wow, just wow. She marked all the dressers for about $100 to $125. You should have seen the driveway, along both sides. Some dressers and stands she did not stand or strip. She found a "recipe" on google. You mix olive oil and vinegar. You rub that dresser down and let it set. Do it again. It brought it out like new again with a very uniform look. A day and a half later I could now park my car in the garage and they all sold. I bring this up because people like you too, repurpose stuff. There is INCOME to be made for those that struggle. There is no shame in anyone doing any kind of job, or work or craft to earn money. So for those watching too, don't drive by a small stand and let it set. That free stand could be a quick $20 in your pocket or more.
It kills me seeing all those books going to the landfill. I collected books, many for research on a book I was trying to write. When we moved to the Sacramento area I filled a storage locker with 8 U Haul loads of books, research materials and some furniture. Then there was a flood and I lost almost 2000 books, all my research materials and 28 chapters of the book I was attempting to write and most of the furniture. I went from a entire library of books to a couple boxes..... never had the heart to start rewriting the book either.
Love finding bubble wrap and shipping supplies! I hit the commercial recycle dumpsters and always score. Nice table. Lots of people are painting wood furniture now so even pieces with imperfections are great scores as long as they are sturdy.
I really enjoy these garbage picking videos. I started out scrapping. Scrapping makes me happy. There is a thrill in it for me. So please keep doing these vids. They are relaxing and therapeutic.
Never stop making the garbage picking videos! That is what brought me here and it's nice to see something different than the regular thrift store hauls videos from other people.
That washer looks fairly new, as do the vacuums you run across. They don't fix these anymore, as the stuff does not last. I have a dryer from 1970...she still works!
Taco, great job, you filled your Van full. You got some great items. You can sell at the flea market or keep for yourself. Be safe, and hugs for Salsa. Sweet girl. 😃
another great video. I wish I could find as much as you do. did go to an estate auction saterday and spent 10 bucks and filled my truck. best catch was a box of he called scrap brass. got it for a buck and got home and pulled it out and it's an old oil chandelier, all brass. with the pulley system to bring it up and down to lite the 6 oil wicks. no telling what its worth. very old !!
Hey Taco I went to an estate sale and they had a bunch of Free stuff. A non-running generator and a couple of CB radios. I flipped the generator on Craigslist for $60 and the 2 CB's on facebook for $35. A good day.
I used to work at a landfill and they would charge ten bucks for an appliance left there. You are doing folks a big favor taking those old dryers. Like your videos. I'm a major garbage hound. If I could have brought home all the goodies I saw thrown away I would have been a wealthy person. It amazes me the stuff that folks throw away.
I love watching your garbage picking videos. I never see much of anything curbside here in Wi...and when I do its usually 30 year old sofas, Tv's, and entertainment units. Anything little is tucked away neatly in the large municipal garage/recycling bins.
I love how those one folks staged a little vignette with the chairs, table, shelf, bird houses and pillows. I even would have stopped and taken it and I don't scrap or resell
I was picking up a washer and dryer curbside, homeowner was outside, I asked what was wrong with washer/dryer, "oh nothing, she just wanted new ones." I would have scrapped and got $15, Instead I got $300 for the pair on craigslist, lesson learned,, ASK what is wrong!
What luck, in my country you will never see new things thrown in the street .. here people keep or sell them, and if breaks for example an LED TV, it is fixed and is still used .. there in countries like USA I think it costs the same or even cheaper to buy a new one, that injustice .. I rarely saw things that are worthwhile in the street and it is with luck
I've seen an old Fisher stereo in the trash, it was double cassette had a turntable on top and 2 speakers that were 18 inches tall. It is still working.
Taco - Do you have a working washer/dryer and laundry tub or sink in your storage garage? If not, I would set aside a space for them. I'd worry about what kind of creepy crawlies you might carry in your house with the clothing or other fabrics you salvage (as well as your own clothes).
Yes! I use to garbage pick as a teenager and I was so scared someone would see me from my school but I wish I knew now that they didn't matter, I was having a blast!!!!!😉
I don't know why I'm so into watching someone pick up junk but I am. Gonna have to subscribe. BTW I could use one of those realistic speakers. One of mine broke. Yep I'm in my 60s. I like the way you don't leave things in a mess.
What no D&D today!? lol Wish your video was just a little bit longer since these particular ones are very popular with us Taco Stackers.... I do like the way you say PEACE! Too damn cute!... Alright I'll leave you alone lol
DANG TACO GREAT HAUL!! So how did the little wood table survive under all the other stuff? Hope it made it out ok ; ) Happy Yhanksgiving Taco Stacks Michele
Really enjoy these videos. I am nosy, I guess. But I have always had to buy cheap or go to 2nd hand shops, so am astonished at what gets thrown away. Keep up the good work. Wishing you the best. 😁
when you're going out scrapping the reason why you're running out of room is because of how you putting everything in your van okay, so if you get small items push them toward the front and make sure that they're stackable. with the smallest thing on the inside of a large peice is on the outside, if you keep that order, then when you put the bigger items in your van you will have more room. other items like that round drum type frame that you left at that one place ,you can turn it into a lampshade and sell it .check out those who do a lot of DIY projects where they repurpose a piece of furniture, and they use it in their home it's a part of the decor .so if you watch HGTV shows with DIY like , Flea Market Flip, you see how they repurpose items & make $$$$$.👍👍👍👍
Great haul! Did you notice the house where you picked up the baker's rack and lawn chairs? All of the discards were staged like a living room, right down to the two candles on the table. Quite the scrapper enticement, LOL! TFS.
10, 35 I have this kind of vintage kérosène heather , runs fine , a little guzzly on kérosène , but it can save a day in the winter when there is a power failure .The wicks for these heathers are available online or some heather after sale shops .
I love your videos! I love seeing the trash picking, the locker cleanouts, and the swap meets! Have you ever considered taking a friend with you so you don't have to lift dryers by yourself?
I enjoy your videos sir and you have a good eye for stuff, having said that, it pains me the way you just seem to throw stuff in your Van with no organization but I still enjoy your videos, keep rocking.
The flea market you sell at was closed down? I love your vids! You encourage my hubby and I with your vids. We sell great at our flea markets here. Keep living the dream indeed!! Anna and Nick
Never heard it referred to as 'garbage picking' before. People actually post all over facebook and craigslist about that stuff here, we just call it 'curb alert'. It's what you do when you redecorate or replace furniture etc when you don't want to pay for someone to haul it all to the dump or hold a garage sale.
Good video...keep picking and selling reusable things...but maybe stack your findings in the truck neater to conserve space never know what you might find next. Good day
Been doing this for years but not at your level. I found incredible things - furniture, tools, vacuums, etc - people throw out instead of fixing them, most of the time easy fixes. Advice: if you don't take certain appliances, cut off the wiring. Copper is always paying good money.
jim t I own one witch is fully operationnal , the wicks for them, are available online , or you can adapt wicks made for newer models , just pay attention to buy the right size of wick .
I know this is an old video, but I have a question. After you wash the rugs at the car wash, how the heck do you get them dry? Thanks for the videos, I love the way you talk us through it!
Here's some advice when you see appliances like washer and dryers take Parts off of them and sell them on Craigslist eBay and plug them in and see if they work because you can sell them on Craigslist for money
I wish I was able to find time to do that, I want to get to that point but right now with youtube and other work related activities I end up putting in close to 60-65 hours of work a week. I don't have time to sit down and start taking things apart and testing them. One day hopefully. That is the dream! Thanks for watching.
Taco Stacks you can start by selling knobs from washers and stoves. You can sell the timer from a dryer or the burners from stoves. Those parts don't take time. Pigtails from dryers and stoves will bring $10. Also when you get the time, microwave parts such as the glass dish, the door glass, door handle as well as the control board yield good money.
You might want to get a second van, for when the first one gets full, ha ha ha,, nice video, great haul, at 1:05 little girl in dress picture was cool, I wanted that picture. :(
Do you have to take the guts out of the dryers before scrapping them? Sorry new to the channel. Found you a few days ago and havent stopped watching your storage unit videos.
Think that is the bottom to the mama-son or baby-son one, but correct, it is the bottom of a three part chair. Very comfy cozy but top edge of center piece has a tendency to break because you always have to grab it to get out of the deep cushion.
What kills me around where I live is how people treat some guys rolling around grabbing stuff like this. I mean some og them do steal stuff or destroy your trash area and leave shit everywhere but for the most part they're nice and pick up after themselves and I can't figure out how someone can give them a hard time for trying to make some cash and keeping crap out of landfills and such. I mean I'd do it if I had a van lol but I don't think much scrap could fit in my car lmao
Well man, I was enjoying the video until you tossed those Polks like an ex girlfriend. You gotta take it more easy with stuff like that. I would have put those to the front of the van. When you find the time, do some more research on stuff like vintage audio and other things. Stuff getting wet is not always the kiss of death. I've noticed stuff you've left behind and shook my head. I know, we all learn as we go along life. As for comments about parting out some stuff for Ebay, find the time. You already sell, go through the hassle of get the product and have a good idea of what you are doing so, capitalize on it. For the most part, harvesting electronics from appliances will get you best buck for your time and the rest will still net you pretty much the same in scrap. You just have to be able to test some things, which could get tricky. You're young. Hit the iron while it's hot! Cheers!
I noticed you use the van all the time and sometimes your Jeep. But if you use a a trailer with your van to take the larger items such as the washers and dryers and so forth it would leave room in the van for the more delicate things that would possibly be break. It was just a thought.
You found a full stereo. That is a nice find. You should see if it all works well. I bet those bags are just jam packed full with good stuff. Nice, nice video.
I trashpicked a professional shop vac : it just required a good cleanage of the filters and a new ( homemade ) rigid hose , it works better and quieter han my regular home vacuuom cleaner , and its a bagless model, just a bucket to empty and filters to clean with an air blower . Perfect to clean dogs hair at home .
I don't know what state you live in but that sure is a shitty way to "put out the trash"!!! I feel for the pickup guys who have to pick up all the shit one by one that is just strewn all over the place. And it looks bad, too. In my city we have 3 separate little dumpsters on wheels for: garbage, yard debris, recycling ...and a bin for glass. Keeps the trash from blowing all over the place, too. It just looks kinda unkempt to have the trash all over like that. Funny.. I hardly even see people using 33 gallon trash cans! Guess I'm just used to seeing the bins.. Keep up the good work!! I also love seeing something out in front of someone's yard with a FREE sign on it!! Especially if I LOVE it!!;)
I would love to have that double door cabinet, and that green shelf, Are you really gonna sale these electrical items without checking to see if they work or not, or are you gonna check them? Did you go back and get that 2 door shelf cabinet? Nice cooler, I would love to have that kerosene heater, the chairs and birdhouses. Do you sale over the internet? if so, I'd buy that kerosene heater. Is that a dolly @12:34?
Hi, you could have kept the stuffs in ur house( if u live nearby) and then go back and take the Table as it was very good table😊. And you are very strong man, how did u lift that heavy washer all by urself....
Nice video, When you find speakers take off the grill and if the speaker surround is rotted away leave it, Unless its JBL of other high end speakers or bring a cordless drill pull out the speakers for scrap. Question what a taco stacker?
Canadian Treasure Hunter You can find good new speakers on line ( not too expensive) to fix the boxes . Just read the characteritics of the old speakers and order new on line : i fixed hifi speakers boxes like that , with better speakers ordered on line , i still use these boxes on my Home Theater system every day ( i use the HT as a computer amplifier/speakers to listen to music on RUclips videos , watch moovies ( streaming) or to listen to country radios online .

I love the garbage picking videos. May God Bless You I hope you have and amazing thanksgiving

No wonder you stay so thin! Lots of work for a great score. These are my favorite videos.
So fun to see you do this...I was a “lady picker “ before you were born... can you hear me yelling from SC , cheering you on! Keep up the good work!!!
I enjoy your videos sir and you have a good eye for stuff, having said that, it pains me the way you just seem to throw stuff in your Van with no organization but I still enjoy your videos, keep rocking.
I've had good luck with wet/dry vacs. Every one I have gotten off the curb works. I have sold all of them at my yard sales.
The flea market you sell at was closed down? I love your vids! You encourage my hubby and I with your vids. We sell great at our flea markets here. Keep living the dream indeed!!
Anna and Nick
I can sit and watch your ending over and over PEACE crash lololol
If I had a vehicle I would trash pick all the time because I used to do this and loved it, found some good things
Never heard it referred to as 'garbage picking' before. People actually post all over facebook and craigslist about that stuff here, we just call it 'curb alert'. Love the clock! Happy Thanksgiving!
Good video...keep picking and selling reusable things...but maybe stack your findings in the truck neater to conserve space never know what you might find next. Good day
you can pick up a converter to test out some things to know if it would be a good flip. Shop Vacs are decent money if you sell as parts on-line
That’s actually a pretty nice little table you picked up! If I saw that I would pick it up myself 🙂
Been doing this for years but not at your level. I found incredible things - furniture, tools, vacuums, etc - people throw out instead of fixing them, most of the time easy fixes. Advice: if you don't take certain appliances, cut off the wiring. Copper is always paying good money.
Nice looking perfection heater at 10:23 Totally rebuild-able and are collectible as well.

I own one witch is fully operationnal , the wicks for them, are available online , or you can adapt wicks made for newer models , just pay attention to buy the right size of wick .
I’ve started to look at people’s trash differently when I drive by now. I think “oh, look at that nice piece”.
I've seen you pick up all this stuff. I'd like to see how/where/ what you do with it when you get home?
I know this is an old video, but I have a question. After you wash the rugs at the car wash, how the heck do you get them dry? Thanks for the videos, I love the way you talk us through it!
air dry em
Question: how did you get started on making this a living, garbage, Flea markets, thrift stores, resales?
I have the same bakers rack ,spray painted it brown and use it in my bedroom for keys, wallet and a place to charge my phone, plus books. 😁
Here's some advice when you see appliances like washer and dryers take Parts off of them and sell them on Craigslist eBay and plug them in and see if they work because you can sell them on Craigslist for money
Chris Jensen I agree 5 dollars in scrap vs about 50-100 dollars in parts

pa ma I loved that picture!!!
Shelley Londry yeah i wd pay one dollar for it lol
I absolutely love your channel
Great finds! Did the shop vac end up working or not?
Taco Stacks, great video! You got some cool stuff!
Do you have to take the guts out of the dryers before scrapping them? Sorry new to the channel. Found you a few days ago and havent stopped watching your storage unit videos.
Hi just so you know Taco you got two washing machines not dryers but I like your videos so keep making them :-)
Hey I love your energy no nonsense way of taking care of business! You seem young to be so responsible! Do it to it...... I miss the east.
Hi! Just to let you know that I enjoy your videos alot. Good luck to you
Thank you for keeping so much out of landfill. ✌️
Good trick starting out in your black jeep and the next stop you have your white van😄
The little wooden thing is the bottom of a chair. There's a big round wooden basket that sit on top then a big round pillow on top of that.
Rebecca Higgins
You are right🙂
I had one and it was called a
Papa-Son chair ( unsure if that is spelled correctly ) 😉
Yes, I love papasan chairs 😍😍😍
Think that is the bottom to the mama-son or baby-son one, but correct, it is the bottom of a three part chair. Very comfy cozy but top edge of center piece has a tendency to break because you always have to grab it to get out of the deep cushion.
Thank you. Stay safe.
Beautiful houses in that neighborhood!
Scrappers do a good service.
Polk speakers are expensive - and you threw it in with all that nice scratchy metal!
Very nice haul, man.

Great video today. Do you ever have to compete with other pickers on the street?
“Alright, she’s in.”
Well, barely and awkwardly. 🤣🤣🤣
dang!! that's a Big truck n you are really good at packing it!!! amazed!
Nice videos not too many shots of you driving around looking for stuff, that suits me just fine, thanks.

Exactly those are good speakers
Bonn .Lloyd
I agree he is rough with the stuff. Who would want broken plastic Xmas decorations. Really would like to see how you sell the items.
Hey you should get a big school bus to do this.
Thanks for sharing.😃
I noticed you use the van all the time and sometimes your Jeep. But if you use a a trailer with your van to take the larger items such as the washers and dryers and so forth it would leave room in the van for the more delicate things that would possibly be break. It was just a thought.
Great haul!
Here it is 2019 and I'm still bing watching.
Scrap vulture found a safe yesterday and now you find a safe today :-)
Hope you have a great Turkey day with family!!! Looking forward to you next vid...
Are you doing a dumpster diving series like Craigslist Hunter?
You found a full stereo. That is a nice find. You should see if it all works well. I bet those bags are just jam packed full with good stuff. Nice, nice video.
Frankie Tortonesi
That stereo is a crappy model,, just stereo , not hifi ! Like the Crosley you find in flea markets .
Just love your camera angles, it makes your arms look sooooooo long. lol😎
😂 "nice rack" ((sorry -- I'm immature...but that made me giggle))
Great vid as always 😉
Always been a fan of racks...
Great video. Enjoyed it. You did load your van well.
We aren't allowed to set things out like that unless the trash company is notified .

Crappy stereo ( Crosley design ) just good for a shop radio or in a child bedroom .
I just subscribed to your channel.
Love the clock!
what do you do with the basketballs? take them to flea market?
Wow our outside flea markets usually end at the 31st of Oct here in southwestern Pennsylvania. we are wimps.
LOL!
my dad use to garbage hunt and find some nice things he would fix things up and then take them to the swap meet and sell them
Just an FYI those dryer drums make good fire pits too
I don't know what state you live in but that sure is a shitty way to "put out the trash"!!!
Canadian Treasure Hunter
You can find good new speakers on line ( not too expensive) to fix the boxes . Just read the characteritics of the old speakers and order new on line : i fixed hifi speakers boxes like that , with better speakers ordered on line , i still use these boxes on my Home Theater system every day ( i use the HT as a computer amplifier/speakers to listen to music on RUclips videos , watch moovies ( streaming) or to listen to country radios online .
just fyi, FRONT LOAD WASHERS always have 4 big and concrete weights in the bottom, they are heavier than a regular washer and dryer. TY For the video.
Happy thanks giving to you and your family
How much does a washer bring?. How much do you pull in a week of cash from metal?
