- Ian McShane had a lot of fun in his youth, admittedly on purpose, but at a certain point he discovered it was necessary to make a change assisted by inspiration from his wife Gwen Humble.

I totally agree with everyhing Ian said about love. I lost my wife after 37 and one half years together. Sure, it started as lust, then it grew into something beautiful beyond words to describe. We never had one fight or an angry word towards each other. We put each other on a pedistal and kept each other there. She made me a much better person than I ever could have been had we no met. And when she passed away my world changed beyond any repair. I have her memories to sustain me until I too pass away, but I am only half a person without her.
R.I.P.🙏❤️
That explains feelings to seone you care about better than anything I have heard.
Sorry to hear of your loss
Yeah, R.I.P.
The first time I remember seeing Ian is in “The Last of Sheila.” Love that film. His wife Gwen Marie Humble is a Michigan girl and former beauty Queen. Lovely! Congrats to Ian on sobriety.
Ian McShane is quite possibly one of the greatest actors alive today. My opinion of course.
He's so dam Good. Hes been brilliant in anything he's in even if said movie or show wasnt all that.
Especially as tai lung in kung fu panda
Good opinion
Good for you Ian for finding love, happiness and sobriety!
Hey Mate, you are an awesome interviewer. All of your guests, and your audience, can feel your genuine nature. You rock brother
Wow. 32 years is remarkable! 👏🏽
I LOVE this man. I am a voice over artist and I am jealous of Ian McShanes voice. I heard from him in the 80 when he made a shot narration on a song by Grace Jones. It blew my mind!!!
Same happened to me, I was blown away when I found out he had done the voce over in Slave to the Rhythm, I love Grave Jones and Ian's exquisite deep voice is just perfect to introduce her gorgeous sensual elegant music.
@@fabiolaandrea5381 Wow...really??!! My imagination is running rampant with that interaction imagining if/when they met...
Also Tai Lung and Bobinski top tear vocal performances
This is so interesting I saw him on a talk show with Seth Meyers and for some reason I didn't know if I knew well I I heard the voice but I thought I know that man he was in something and then I thought he was in some movie that I saw but then reading this brings it to the forefront: "Ladies and gentlemen Miss Grace Jones
Sam needs an award. You’re one of the best interviewers around!
This - pleasant to see an interviewer invested in drawing a response from the interviewee rather than it being about the interviewer. McShane is an interesting character.
Great insight from one of my favorite actors
I just watched this tonight awake late and struggling with my sobriety. It's really powerful to hear good stories because the struggle is real but hearing that we want to change for people who matter is really nice
Oh, I'm glad you found this at a moment when you needed it. Wishing the best for you.
Love this guy. My favorite contemporary actor. Have to say though, sounds like his dentures are loose or not fitting right.
Good Job! Keep it up Shane. He's a great Actor without a doubt.
Great insight ian...
This is one memoir/autobio I would LOVE to get my hands on...it would be so interesting and outrageous!!!💕💕
All I can say is that guy is so cool.
Brilliant
amazing
Great interviews indeed! I first saw Ian in the mid 70s and I know he had a very wild life at the time, with drugs and alcohol. He had an equally wild and turbulent love affair with Sylvia Kristell in the late 70s, I loved them as a couple and I was very sorry how violent and destructive their relationship turned out to be. But it was also a very competitive one, I guess that's why his relationship with his current wife has worked, she preferred following him and she's been a good influence for him as well I think. Anyways, I love Ian's career as an actor and it's a tremendous pleasure listening to his deep voice. A beautiful man that still looks incredibly attractive.
Will always be Lovejoy
I hear that. Great commentary.
He's f*cking smart.
Ian should do Lovejoy one more time. In my opinion his finest hour.....
Damn he is an awesome dude.
Love joy,xx
I had no problems understanding this man for those of you that need captions to listen to IM...😏😏
Swedgin!!!
I always said, third time lucky! My wife is the best thing to happen to me!
He still sounds like he`s slurring his words despite being sober for 32 years,so imagine how he sounded when he was drinking lol
I don't know if you get it in the US, but one of my favourite tv series is Lovejoy which he did from about 1986-94
MarkoRollo I love that show and every character in it!
Acorn Tv is streaming Lovejoy; watch it all the time.
I love in Deadwood the perfectly placed 'cocksucker' in intro to episode 5 or 6. Before all were overt virile. This one was ho hum negotiable. We saw character develop via cocksucker
‘...Lovejoy’.
Ian McShane, not a household name, but he should be. You can’t take your eyes off him.
His micheal caine when micheal caine dies
Wonder how he was able to build such elaborate repertoire… despite all his addictions. But I must admit, never saw one single of his performances. Don’t regret really…
Is he from the same area of England as John Lennon?
Or Michael Caine
He's from Lancashire, slightly north of Liverpool (where John Lennon is from), although the accents are close. Michael Cane is from London which is waaaay down south. I think the similarity you're hearing there is gravitas ;)
He was born in Blackburn and grew up in Manchester (he’s a Manchester United fan - his dad played for them!) So he’s from the north of England.
Tai Lung
Yep such an awsome character
The man looks totally warped, love joy, what's he been on speed.
Lol? he's almost 80... life happens.
It's his new teeth,
Ian McShane sounds like what Ozzy Ozbourne would have sounded like if he had decided to not do all the drugs.
No, Ozzy is a brummie, completely different accents
I get what you mean...lol
IM has amazing charisma and the lovejoy character was him, and always will be..he seems to nestle nicely into most roles he takes on to be fair but he did take on the Lovejoy character from the books and brought him to life 👍
Dude sounds/is drunk in this clip
His not drunk it's his new teeth
