I held the door open for Ian McShane once (25 years ago.) I've never heard the words "Thank you" spoken more mellifluously.
Thank you on behalf of mellifluous
Conan often talks about how guests from the UK and Ireland are the best guests, they tend to be great raconteurs with wonderful senses of humor. Ian McShane is a great example of Conan being correct.
You don’t last long in the UK if you are boring.
Conan is not funny
Conan = 100% correct, all the time
Had crush on this man since he started in LoveJoy here in UK. That was in the late 80’s or early 90’s I think, he’s still got it.
What this has to do with anything. He wasn't making a joke when he said it. @@VictoriaAlfredSmythe
There's never a dull interview with Ian McShane.
Looks amazing for 81 and still so sharp and funny.
I love that Seth keeps bringing on Ian McShane. Such a fantastic actor.
I am soooo pissed they didnt finish American gods. He was great as Mr Wednesday
I agree, I read the book and neither it nor the show didn’t really help me come to a conclusion.
I agree! Left us hanging(no pun intended)! Great series!
I wonder if Neil knows he's making us wait such a long time for the second book. I enjoyed the series, the first two episodes made me buy a book and the book is so great!
I’d never seen him on a talk show, OMG he’s fabulous! Funny, handsome, witty.
This was great. Still smiling!
Same, idk how I missed him, but he didn't like the celeb life clearly. Bit obviously for thos was really the only available guy able to do it having the pulling power & speaking English rather than latin
I can't believe I've not seen any interviews of McShane, I love how he's giving so much credit to his costars, calling everyone out by name. Seems like a humble guy, very cool
The more I watch Seth Meyers, the more I appreciate him.
This man is 81 years old and still looks amazing!
And apparently fairly peppy, playing in John Wick movies
There is a cool chemistry between Seth and Ian McShane. Never a dull moment.
"What is your motivation for Snow Leopard?" "He's looking for the check..." killed me dead! 💀💀
« The secret ingredient is… the chèque! » a modern moral for children of all ages 😂😂😂
The real joke with that question is that Ian dislikes being asked about his motivation. Shows that they are friends and it was an inside joke.
He should have won for Deadwood.
Or for American Gods. He's just such a talented actor, especially when his character is kind of an asshole :D
Right? How memorable is his character? ⭐️
@@pheumann86 Swagger. He got lots.
No 'cat piss' detected.
Damn right! Stellar performance!
Good lord Ian McShane is a national treasure. 🇬🇧
nope, sorry the national treasure chest is full
🤣 & he'd hate that, lol... Good one! 👏😂
@@gerrydooley951 I'm sure they could clear out some space if they gave back all the treasures they've stolen from other countries 😉
who are "they"?@@snr0n
@@gerrydooley951 Who do you think? There are context clues in both the video and the comment you initially replied to.
Ian is freaking hilarious 😂
So awesome that closed captions are now available here for Late Night with Seth et al. Thanks a gazillion.
What coincidental timing! I’ve been marathoning Deadwood for the first time in my life since last week. Ian McShane is wonderful!
I'm watching Deadwood for the first time! I'm confused.
Lovejoy💕
Right? The best ❤️ Can you believe the love interest in that is Mrs. Hudson from Downton Abbey? I feel old
Love this man.
Also why is audio in films so terrible now? Music is always too loud and voices too low. So annoying.
And video too dark.
Ian, the movie with Peter Sellers is called What's New Pussycat, not Pussycat Pussycat.
Whatever, it's still funny!
Lovejoy has come so far! Ian is golden!
Lovejoy... Brilliant stuff! I loved how like Michael Caine he often broke the fourth wall as well!
He was so great in Deadwood.
He’s the best. Favorite of mine is the Last of Sheila. James Mason, Raquel Welsh & Dyan Cannon
Ian is one of my favorite actors, Deadwood was a 'Gem" ;)
Man... Deadwood what an amazing series.
One of the best series of all time.
He's always Lovejoy to me!
Fell in love/hate with him in Deadwood and have been enjoying him ever since!
Al Swearingen is one of the most awful and greatest characters ever, and we were lucky Ian McShane played him to perfection.
That man is a true inspiration.
It's almost impossible to believe he's 80. I guess 80 is the new 60, at least for Ian McShane. What a delightful man.
If anyone's missed "American Gods", he's GREAT in that too. Great series!
I loved it! Wish they would finish it!
Season one was brilliant.
Unfortunately, it lost so much when Brian Fuller & his crew left the show. 😢
He's got that look where any second Teddy Bass will come out.
The word 'Suave', personified.
The clip from the movie - who else couldn't hear a thing she was saying?
Need subtitles
It was crap.
Bad choice of a clip! The trailer is so much more intriguing
From the UK I watched Lovejoy as a kid with my mum. Thank you for the fond memories sir.
Saw him first in the BBC series Lovejoy. Loved it. Very funny.
LOVEJOY!!
Recommend the caper film Sexy Beast.
This man kills in every role. Sometimes literally, always metaphorically.
Omg i looooooooove Ian ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Love Ian, that is one smoking hot 70’s cosmopolitan centerfold. His pet dog in it is so adorable. So excited for his new films. Such a dreamy handsome charming and hilariously funny sarcastic gentleman. Love his distinctive voice and laugh. So sweet. Great interview. ❤ ♥️ 🇬🇧 🏴 😍🥰😘🤩 🌟 ✨ 📺 🥵 🤤 👑 💎 ⚜️ 🏆 📸 😆
The Blackburn is so strong in him that he's never lost the accent.
Great actor. Even if I never saw him in anything else, his work in Deadwood was simply superb.
Seth, you missed a golden opportunity to point out that Moriarty is a Dachshund . . . also known as a wiener dog 😉
Good call
Lovejoy! That was a good show.
Born in Blackburn!!! His dad Harry was our (Blackburn Rovers) goalkeeper!!
GReat interview Seth
TIL: Budgy Smuggler is a literal brand for swim "briefs".
Love him on "American Gods" "John Wick"!❤❤❤
Ian is a funny fascinating guy and a damn good actor
wtf was that clip from the show, could hardly hear what she was saying, unless that was the point
Well that and to get ppl talking like you
If it’s Tuesday, this must be Belgium…first time I say Ian McShane.
We love ian mcshane
Forever Lovejoy! What a joy!💖
Forever Lovejoy ❤👌❤
All I hear is tai lung honestly😂, came here for his accent
What a legend
Even In the Face of In Spite Of the Clip where You Couldn't "wtf hear what was going on" - this dude is *STILL* An Amazing Performer.. 👏🎨🎭🎨 One of the PRETTIEST, MOST Identifyable Diction Voices Ever.. 🎨🎭🎨🧸
P.S. (Please) Bring Back American Gods ,!.
🙏🙂😊🙂🙂🙂🍽🙏

Right? I immediately said to myself, "That was a terrible clip, even though he looked amazing." It's always a delight to see him interviewed, but damn. They couldn't have found a better 30 seconds?
Cancel whoever did the audio mixing for that movie. That was the worst clip ever.
Lovejoy!
What version of 'Til I Can't Take This Anymore is that? Sounds lovely
It’s Brook Benton’s version - it is awesome.
shout out to Lovejoy
To our Amrican chums who may not know, Ian did a great show on UK tv called Lovejoy. Check it out. Its fun.
Is that Fanny Ardent he’s dancing with in the clip?
Yes. Ian said so during the interview. Well spotted! 😀
Jeez, they couldn't find any clips where he actually delivered a line?
And an Antiques dealer as Lovejoy!
I preferred him in Lovejoy; his hair was cleaner. Haven’t seen him much since. Glad he’s doing ok, used to wonder.
Whinston the high table
Love him but lousy clip. Couldnt hear a word over the music.
Not to mention "Game of Thrones" and "American Horror Story".😘😘😘
Deadwood was such a good show, Al Swearengen was one of the most complex characters on the small screen.
Al Swearingen lives
Lovejoy! ' nuff said ....
Yo it’s the guy that played tai lung
Ian was unforgettable in the classic British gangster/heist movie Sexy Beast.
You're telling me that man is 81?!?! 😲 Damn, that's a good brain and gene pool!
Lovejoy
Love how he didn’t say a word in the clip
Never sneak up on a man who's been in a chemical fire!
"Budgie smugglers"?! I will NEVER be able to look at Speedos again.
Day Drinking with Renee Rapp stat!!!!!!❤❤❤❤
He’d make an excellent present day Roger Daltrey!
I love Kung Fu Panda 4. I justs do, and Tilung is my favorite
Happy birthday ian as judas ❤
God I love Ian! But,I love his show voice better than his real one. LOL
Tinker has a posse
Dang 81...
somebody got new choppers for Christmas
Why was Seth not letting Ian answer questions fully just prior to going through Ian’s historic of being shirtless? What it just an edited set and with the full answers removed?
Hot Rod legend
Old man, young heart 😂
He's a Panda. Your a Panda.
It's ODIN!!!!!
The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.
Ok ian mcshane needs to play Moriarty!!!
He'd be a GREAT Moriarty!
❤
What a terrible movie clip lol. The lady was mumbling something under the music and he just stared at her. Great interview tho!
He would have been a great Negan
💜💜💜
Trump doesn't like the beach either... Last time he went the crowd covered him in wet towels before rolling him into the surf...
Here Comes the Grump
Hahaha, I never saw him as a yong man. I think he's a lot better looking now.
