In Europe we actually do tip if we find the food and service to be above average. We don't have to because people get a living wage. You also can have a nice relaxing meal with your friends and not be interrupted by servers every five minutes.

10:02 I assume when they say the shark is older than the USA they mean the founding of the country which google says is 1776 (actually that's the original independence day you still celebrate, wonder what that person thinks the holiday is celebrating then) so the shark only has to be 300 years old to top that. Average wealth is not a good way to compare countries. Some countries like the US have a small group of insanely wealthy ppl, who pull up the average wealth (and income), which skews the comparison. The comparison should be median wealth/income. In which case the US isnt even in the top 20. And I know, Americans like to compare themselves to the UK, I guess, coz the 2 countries, kinda, speak the same language. But the UK on most fronts has not been faring well for several years now compared to most EU countries, and the UK is definitely not an indicator of the EU or the continent of Europe.
I hate when people say that driving an hour in Europe takes you to another country and driving in the US for an hour just takes you tyo another state. It depends on where you are driving. You can drive for an hour in the US and enter another country and drive for an hour in Europe and be in another state. It all depends on where you are driving to and from.
on a subreddit where we should talk about Italy many Americans asked the same thing, I don't understand why..13:22 , another American asked if there was a place in Florence where they could have Thanksgiving dinner... 😅
Don't worry in Europe pretty much every hotel has AC, even in places where it's not common to have one in your home. It's mostly just houses/apartments in northern European countries that don't, if you go to southern Europe most people have AC in their homes
I prefer 'bad service' in a way because there is something more honest about. Dont get me wrong, I want people to do their jobs well, but we all know working in the service industry can be demoralising. When the wage is that low, there is desperation in the service. I dont want to know that the waitress is probably going to cry in her car later because no matter how much of a brave face she put on during her shift, both her boss and the customers did not collectively value her work enough to ensure that she makes rent this month. Its sad. She should be paid more!

5:27 Why is "entusiasm" required of waiting staff? I don't care about entusiasm, I care about getting good food for a good price. Ikr? Good service is allowing us to eat without interruptions, but being available when we do need them and signal for them to come. That borderline harassment, they practice in the US, can ruin any meal. Its the quickest way to NOT get tipped by most Europeans!
US waiters treat you like a baby. In the aUK, we don't want people coming to the table to interrupt our meal.
In certain parts of Ireland you would get your face punched in for interrupting a person's meal.
We do tip in the UK, its just optional, which means you get tips when someone appreciates your service, not because they were obligated to.
This guy is so clever. The 24 hour clock has nothing to do with time zones.
What is the point of AC in a climate that does not require it?

I love how Americans think a 90 minute car ride is long enough to require snacks because going an hour and a half without food is too long xD
