i had that exact problem. switching to other brands helped, because i found the problem to be mainly the pressure. idk might help you. cause i used to gag and get dizzy then found it was because my ear was completely blocked making me feel that way.
I had that problem with beats, they were big and awkward but i still felt like it was suffocating my ears like I would get dizzy and nauseous and I had to keep taking them off bc it was triggering my anxiety
Ok umm as someone who owns a pair I have a different opinion 1 the noise cancelling is kinda crappy like I use the school bus to go to school and it barley blocks out the people next to me 2 they fall off pretty easily like I have to hold them to keep them on if a Run to fast or bend over 3 they can give you a headache after a while (they are kinda heavy) 4 they disconnect and don't reconnect only after you reset and forget the device alot of the time 5 when dropped the damage is clearly visible
My first pair of airpod max’s finally died a few weeks back. As an autistic student, i used them for around 10-12 hours everyday. I never kept them in their case (i lost it soon after getting them) and the ear cushions never broke, were easy to clean, and i found sweat and rain didn’t damage the headphones at all. Really sturdy. Would recommend.
@@satire6708 They lasted two years, almost to the month, with around 10 hours of use per day. My brother and father both have pairs they got around the same time, and both pairs still work perfectly. My father uses them like most people do. A few hours per day, mostly for audio books, music, and movies.

For the average person I wouldn’t say it’s the smartest option financially, but they work for me and my needs. I have autism, which makes noise and talking almost painful to listen to while trying to just exist. Music is also a good coping mechanism for me, so they are being used all the time. I’m an active person. I’ve dropped them, thrown them, bent them, and they didn’t show signs of slowing down until a few months before they died (mainly battery issues and the occasional reset to make them connect) nearly two years after i bought them. Be respectful in your replies, at least.

the sony wxm5 is what i use and i find them amazing! they’re like $350-450 so $100-200 cheaper than these, and they do all of that. i have adhd and noise cancelling is very important to me and they do that wonderfully! i’m also a metalhead who listens to a lot of loud, bass-y songs and these do all of the songs justice. another alternative is $550 is just a lil too steep for you!
By really loud you mean “max volume” then yes. It’s has good sound that it isn’t needed to raise it all the way up. 2-3 volume clicks is good(volume isn’t half way)
As someone who is deeply in the audiophile hobby and a college student, here is my opinion on the airpods max, sound wise they are decent but not at the level of something like the sony WHXM4 , and price wise it is not even close to worth it
I wear headphones 24/7 (yes, sometimes even when sleeping) and I have these. They are amazing! One important tip is to not be too precious with them. You don’t need to use that god awful case. It doesn’t protect them. All it does is make the headphones go into sleep mode faster. If you just take them off, in a couple minutes they’ll do the same thing. But yeah. They’re sturdy. So just wear them even when you come out of the shower or are sweaty or any of that stuff, they’re fine. They’re great everyday headphones.

Fun fact: there is no power button on the maxes, which is why you need to keep them in the "case" when not in use. Since these are so expensive, i would suggest the Soundcore Life q30's for anyone looking for good quality at a cheap price. They have all of these features, including noise cancelling, transparency, AND a power button, and last for around 40-60 hours depending on noise cancelling settings. Theres also an app with an equalizer and nc settings, even though the sound is pretty great right out the box. Theyre also extremely comfortable! The price? $80. Compared to the maxes at $550, the life q30s are a great option to look for. Ive been using my pair everyday going on 2 years and they work perfectly fine, but obviously look pretty used. Definitely check them out if you dont want to break the bank for good quality headphones.
In my opinion, the Jabari elite 85h headphones are a direct upgrade from those, and they’re water resistant and they cost $250 not over 500 dollars. They also have an app where there’s a sound equalizer and you can make your songs sound different and they basically have every function of the AirPods Max plus more, and they also sound really good and are really comfortable, I don’t think you can really say anything bad about them.
For my phone I use my airpod 3rd gens but on my pc I have turtle beaches and they hit so much harder on those days where I’m home and need to jam out and for gaming.
My dad had got these and tbh they were not good. He tested them by using them in a work call, and a lot of people were saying how it sounded like he was talking through a can.

I got a pair like that from 5 below and they work great :) pretty good sound, Bluetooth works well, sweat proof, doesn’t fall off easily, but not sound proof. If the Apple ones are outside of your budget I highly recommend looking there!
I COMPLETELY agree w everything she said! I have the silver ones and one thing I will say is the the mesh part in the headband can get a bit dirt but you can clean it. The reason I bought the AirPods Maxes is because the pods/buds don’t feel secure to me and I’d rather be safe than sorry, plus the headphones for me are most likely more comfortable than the other types of AirPods

AirPods are recommended for those who want more portability and smaller things to carry mostly for normal people. AirPods Max is mostly for people like her for study or for people who REALLY loves music.
They’re great when they actually work, but they seem to have a tendency to malfunction. Mine can only play sound on one side or even stop working altogether, on occasion. After like a minute or so, they fix themselves, but it’s still annoying. My case isn’t unique, either, it seems to be happening to a lot of people.

i have the sennheiser ones and they costed me $360 ish (i don’t really remember the exact price and i got mine from amazon) and their battery life can last up to 60 hours. they also have their own app so you can customize your sound quality and a lot of other things too. i’ve had mine for a couple of months now and im in love, i always use them, i pretty much disowned my air pods lol. but of course i would recommend doing your research first before buying headphones because in the end they are all going to be a bit pricy :,)
On a budget, Soundcore Q30 and Q45 by Anker are the best out there and for the higher end it's either the Sony WH-1000XM5 or the Bang and Olufsen Beoplay HX or H95
Sonys will always win. I tried the Apples in store and they were definitely crazy, but they’re heavy and not sweat proof, so if I’m working on something and it’s even a degree hot, my head gon be sweaty. My sonys do everything the apple does but so much cheaper, and without the gimmick of it being apple design.
They are pretty good, but I have to say it’s not very sound proof because in my class this kid got them for Christmas and always wore them in math class, but I literally sat the complete opposite side from him and I could still hear his music… Maybe he had it on full volume or something 💀

There’s some great alternatives like JBL and Sony headphones that work just as well as these for a lower price, but if you have the money I guess these headphones would be a good purchase
If you guys want something cheaper than the 400+ USD that they cost, I'd recommend the AUSDOM E9 headphones. They're 70 dollars, and have the same features as the Apple Airpods Max + can handle sweat pretty well to a degree, idk abt water tho. They have like this little switch to activate noise cancelling vs transparency, so you don't have to open your phone to switch.
Also wanna say the noise cancellation doesn’t fully cancel the noise I am still able to hear the noise but lower but if I make the sound u am listening to louder It works better
There are headphones that are cheaper and sound just as good if not better. Comfort is preference and other headphones will also have perfectly good noise canceling
I have the AirPod maxes, and my only complaint is that they make your ears sweat if u wear them for a bit. If your someone who will mind that, you should prob consider the factors for buying this.

I mean the headphones have great reviews everyone knows that they’re good quality for apple users but at the same time it’s titled “as a college student” but it doesn’t talk about college specific activities but more so talks about activities anyone could be doing like riding the bus or wearing glasses, I would have thought college specific activities would have been better to show how they may help or make things harder for someone who is “a college student” because tbh for most average college students the it’s their first time away from home meaning they have to manage time as well as money, I would have thought because of this the main deterrent for a college student would be the price of the headphones, I know when I was at college even stuff like finding the best meal plan was something that I had to figure out and how much I’d rely on using the college cafeteria vs finding my own food or going out to eat with friends etc

Noise cancelling refers to a microphone that CANCELS OUT BACKGROUND NOISE meaning the microphones ability to cancel out noises outside of your voice. Sound cancelling refers to headphones that cancel out sound! So over this. No wonder why I can't find a good pare of NOISE CANCELLING HEADPHONE SETS! Before people jump on this comment and say I have no idea what I'm talking about please note the following. In 2009 I was sitting in a chat gaming program called Dolby (Like TeamSpeak but uses a grid system which can be divided into sections so that team battles are easier to play without causing divides in friendly communities), when myself and quiet a number of other players submitted a request to headset developers to create a headset (mic and headphones) that can cancel out background noise for the mic (as background noise was interfering in the fps we were playing) and a headset that cancelled our sound and added surround sound so we could use the games effect sounds (which was developed to pick up in-game character movements) so that we could fight better in game. Long story short Logitech ended up.producing the best version based off of our feedback. So yes I do understand the term noise cancelling versus sound cancelling very well.

i have the sennheiser ones and they costed me $360 ish (i don’t really remember the exact price and i got mine from amazon) and their battery life can last up to 60 hours. they also have their own app so you can customize your sound quality and a lot of other things too. i’ve had mine for a couple of months now and im in love, i always use them, i pretty much disowned my air pods lol.
but of course i would recommend doing your research first before buying headphones because in the end they are all going to be a bit pricy :,)
On a budget, Soundcore Q30 and Q45 by Anker are the best out there and for the higher end it's either the Sony WH-1000XM5 or the Bang and Olufsen Beoplay HX or H95

I loooooveee my AirPods Max Pros. They are perfect for the gym, but the only downside is when ur laying down they feel really uncomfortable.
Sonys will always win. I tried the Apples in store and they were definitely crazy, but they’re heavy and not sweat proof, so if I’m working on something and it’s even a degree hot, my head gon be sweaty. My sonys do everything the apple does but so much cheaper, and without the gimmick of it being apple design.
They are pretty good, but I have to say it’s not very sound proof because in my class this kid got them for Christmas and always wore them in math class, but I literally sat the complete opposite side from him and I could still hear his music… Maybe he had it on full volume or something 💀

I have a pair, and the noise cancellation is 50/50 for me. I really like the sound blocking, but if it's in a noisy environment, I can still hear a lot of things. Well, they are headphones, so what can I expect 👍
There’s some great alternatives like JBL and Sony headphones that work just as well as these for a lower price, but if you have the money I guess these headphones would be a good purchase

my most important factor is if i can listen to my music loud enough that i can hear it in my toes and no one else can
If you guys want something cheaper than the 400+ USD that they cost, I'd recommend the AUSDOM E9 headphones. They're 70 dollars, and have the same features as the Apple Airpods Max + can handle sweat pretty well to a degree, idk abt water tho. They have like this little switch to activate noise cancelling vs transparency, so you don't have to open your phone to switch.
Also wanna say the noise cancellation doesn’t fully cancel the noise I am still able to hear the noise but lower but if I make the sound u am listening to louder It works better

There are headphones that are cheaper and sound just as good if not better. Comfort is preference and other headphones will also have perfectly good noise canceling

I have the AirPod maxes, and my only complaint is that they make your ears sweat if u wear them for a bit. If your someone who will mind that, you should prob consider the factors for buying this.
Headphone that are like noise cancelling give me anxiety because what if someone’s trying to get my attention and I don’t hear them

I mean the headphones have great reviews everyone knows that they’re good quality for apple users but at the same time it’s titled “as a college student” but it doesn’t talk about college specific activities but more so talks about activities anyone could be doing like riding the bus or wearing glasses, I would have thought college specific activities would have been better to show how they may help or make things harder for someone who is “a college student” because tbh for most average college students the it’s their first time away from home meaning they have to manage time as well as money, I would have thought because of this the main deterrent for a college student would be the price of the headphones, I know when I was at college even stuff like finding the best meal plan was something that I had to figure out and how much I’d rely on using the college cafeteria vs finding my own food or going out to eat with friends etc

Ugh why do people get noise and sound cancelling mixed up! Noise cancelling refers to a microphone that CANCELS OUT BACKGROUND NOISE meaning the microphones ability to cancel out noises outside of your voice. Sound cancelling refers to headphones that cancel out sound!
So over this. No wonder why I can't find a good pare of NOISE CANCELLING HEADPHONE SETS!
Before people jump on this comment and say I have no idea what I'm talking about please note the following. In 2009 I was sitting in a chat gaming program called Dolby (Like TeamSpeak but uses a grid system which can be divided into sections so that team battles are easier to play without causing divides in friendly communities), when myself and quiet a number of other players submitted a request to headset developers to create a headset (mic and headphones) that can cancel out background noise for the mic (as background noise was interfering in the fps we were playing) and a headset that cancelled our sound and added surround sound so we could use the games effect sounds (which was developed to pick up in-game character movements) so that we could fight better in game. Long story short Logitech ended up.producing the best version based off of our feedback. So yes I do understand the term noise cancelling versus sound cancelling very well.
