More than "parisian" style, I would use the adjective "hausmanian". Because, currently, a few appartements are hausmanian ones like those you showed. Parisian pinhabitants, in their majority, can't afford hausmanian appartments. However, that kind of lovely style appears in so many magazines, Instagram, etc that we could imagine that Paris is full of that. I hope that helped! I love your videos. Cheers from France! 😊
I totally agree you are right on with your style analysis....but without the amazing space: high ceilings, crown molding, marble fireplace, etc, etc......it doesn't come off quite so amazing. I love Parisian style but REALLY how to get unless your have the "SPACE".
In Europe, that’s typically how we do bedrooms. However the Parisian style for me is exuberant, wallpaper and frou frou. Think the Meurice, hotel Monastere or the Balzac.
The two images in the beginning I feel one is French Parisian while the other French country and I think that maybe people are oftentimes confusing the two. I think both have their charm. I used to be very into that shabby chic/French country style in my early 20s, but I have found that over time my decor tastes have grown along with me and I’m leaning more towards a sophisticated French Parisian type of style now. I’ve really been working on switching out my things with good quality pieces.
Exactly. I was going to make this same comment. The shabby chic look is much more country French than Parisian French IMHO. Or the Americanized version of it anyway. With a little English cottage thrown in and trendy peely painted furniture. I used to be all about it as well. I still love me some old painted pieces on occasion, but NEVER fake old or fake distressed. Gotta be that old alligatored paint that only happens over time and that is so full of lead I'll probably end up stupid...er. Hahahaha!

Good information. Although, I don't gravitate to Parisienne style, I do appreciate how timeless and effortlessness of this decorative style. It appears from the pictures Parisienne style also displays collections of whatever the home owner has spent time finding ie: books, art, glass etc. I appreciate the "guided tour". Thank you for the information

Really glad for your clarification. It’s not easy to nail down the Parisian look - it’s such a mix of contemporary and vintage and is truly subjective. Parisian interiors don’t rely on trend to be current - they’re about highlighting the spirit of the inhabitant, which is always current ;) My favourite takeaway is how they cleverly combine functionality with whimsy. And love.

Love the idea of the style guides, going to go pick up one right now. We keep moving so it has never been the right time for me to purchase a style session, however we are putting in an offer on what will hopefully be our “forever home” this week, so I will definitely be referring to the guide as we move in and also plan to book a style session once we get settled!

Their wardrobes are what we call armoires. They used them in centuries past to store their armor, but as western civilization progressed, people did not keep armories in their homes and these large pieces of furniture were used by later generations for clothing storage rather than using the large steamer trunks, often sold at flea markets which were so called because they were home to fleas. You can convert your old TV armoire (which is smaller than what they had but still useful for storing sweaters, scarves, or linens. You will have to have it retrofitted). It might not be the same but if you have a small space, will give you the look.

I want a simple minimal bed but I also want a canopy bed. I don’t have exuberant architecture so my thought was the canopy would be the statement piece and everything else would be simple and minimal.

Americans have a problem with clutter. Parisian style may be harder to accomplish because Americans have so much stuff.
