It was the fault of the cheap comforter. You'll feel better when it's banished from your life. Long ago, I had a great looking suit, but every time I wore it, disaster ensued. Checked out a work car which ran out of gas after three miles. Spilled tea down my front en route to a closing (I turned skirt around backwards and went ahead). Out, out damned suit. It's GONE!

My featherbed is encased in a natural colored linen cover. I do have a few mattress-ticking sheets, in slate and white. And of course, I still keep a few items like throws and decorative pillow covers that may have other colors (e.g. Mongolian lamb, mud cloth, kantha quilts, etc) to change things a bit. But white is the base. Plus makes it so easy to launder. Live!

Before you go and buy a down comforter remember the down is from the birds that need it for themselves for their own survival. Research how they rip the down off of birds before you go and buy a cruelty filled comforter. I’m not kidding it’s absolutely brutal. Absolutely go for the down duvet inserts! Unless you have an allergy, which would really suck. I'd like to recommend riser blocks if your bed is low profile and the rest of your furniture is not. I have antique bedroom furniture, so my modern platform bed with the memory foam mattress was just too low in relation to my nightstand, chairs, and vanity. Putting it on 3" risers not only made the space more cohesive, but it also gave me a little more storage space under the bed. The bonus was that it allowed my duvet to drape better over the bed. It was pooling on the floor previously.
Totally agree about not having a working space in the bedroom. I found this out through experience, that my sleep improved after I stopped working in my bedroom, and not bringing the emotions of my workday into my sleeping area. I love the nightstands and the lamps - tell us more please!
I am staying at families home during the holidays, they had the bed right next to the door. I was having horrible anxiety at night, I was sleeping with the door next to/behind me. I moved the bed last night and they were upset but I slept SO much better and my anxiety was drastically better.

Hi. I totally disagree with the idea of not sleeping near the door or bed placement near the door. I've been doing this for YEARS and honestly, no issues sleeping here. Putting my bed in front of the window is not appealing to me until, maybe, winter, with snow and frost in the forecast. That's because I'm not concerned about most sneaky bugs getting in, somehow. Yuck! This is "my" experience and the only one I can honestly speak for. Furthermore, sometimes putting the bed in front of the window minimizes the walking space near the foot of the bed and could squeeze you against the closet. I like the London Fog sheet sets. They're soft and really really affordable, at Sam's Club anyway. I am not interested in making an impression at the expense of my physical and financial comfort. Duvets are a nuisance for me. @@Heyu7her3 warning: the linen sheets I got started out very rough. I'm on the 4th wash now, and each time they soften up. Eventually they'll likely become very soft. Linen holds dyes very well, so they probably won't fade out like cotton does. They're also more durable than cotton.

One last note. It takes a hell of a lot of work to even get into an Interior Design program, let alone a degree in it. One cannot call themself an Interior Designer just because they feel they have creativity for it. I've been there, so it does seem fake when there are so many RUclips channels calling themselves Interior Designers. The one I have respect for is KB, who has great taste and suggestions. She has told everyone watching her videos who she is and what she is. So tired of fakery.
Yes, you are very right. I worked hard to attain my professional degree and license. I would be HIGHLY offended if individuals claimed the same profession but without the same training. For example. RUclipsr's Rebecca Robeson with Robeson Design calls herself an Interior Designer but has actually stated that she NEVER actually went to interior design school. When I was a student at a major Big Ten University a girl in my dorm was majoring in Interior Design. I was so impressed when I would at times see her carrying her portfolio pads. It took her four years to earn a Bachelors degree in Interior Design. After graduation she said that she would have to sit for an exam and get licensed.
Experience means something. Not unusual for experience to be as, or more, useful than a degree. Speaking as someone w an advanced degree, congrats for the hard work and probably $ you put in for your degree, but calling out people who legitimately have the experience (but not a degree) that people are willing to pay for, is - in my opinion, not cool.

Love the content as always. How do you feel about a tv in the bedroom?
Very informative!!
Wow, you pronounced it perfectly but the spelling? Not so much . . . ("chaise longue" not "chez long"--lol!)
Lol
I’m sure you know she spelled it phonetically to help others.

@@irishlady5051 I'm sure you know that isn't knowable. Anyway "chez long" means something along the lines of "at the home of someone named Long"
My bed is against the window because it’s small bedroom (12X12) and I wanted my husband and I be able to get out without disturbing one another.
So sorry you broke your base. Hope you can repair and still save it.
👏👏👏
I thought your feet have to face the door
feng shui thing

I don't buy white towels, wash cloths, or sheets. They NEVER stay white, turning ugly way before they wear out. Give me COLOR!
oh I feel sorry for your vase. I have recently cracked my fav tea cup :) If it makes you a bit happier :)
I'm sorry about you vase :(
One last note.
@G.D. Anonymous. What is your point? Are accusing Baiyina?
Experience means something. Not unusual for experience to be as, or more, useful than a degree. Speaking as someone w an advanced degree, congrats for the hard work and probably $ you put in for your degree, but calling out people who legitimately have the experience (but not a degree) that people are willing to pay for, is - in my opinion, not cool.
Watch Lisa Holt and the likes. Even better than KB.
Please don't promote feather down. The birds live a life of pain and suffering.
Gorilla glue will fix that!
