Great list and a lot of other great films are listed in the comments as well. My all-time favorite is Mad Max Fury Road. Both the 4K Blu-ray and the 3D Blu-ray. That is my go-to for an immersive soundtrack.
Mad Max Fury Road was so close to making this top 10. To be honest there are so many movies out there that could have made it. It was a right pain in the ass trying to come up with my favorites. Trust me Patrick you are going to be blown away when you see Back to the Future and here it. Never thought it could sound as good as it does. Yeah Saving Private Ryan scared the s*** out of me when it comes to its sound. It's that convincing

Everyone’s taste is different and I agree atmosphere is key as George Lucas said “ Sound is 50% of the movie experience “ The bombastic titles are fun as hell and Saving Private Ryan is always a go to demo. Moonfall was exceptional and really lots of fun from Emmerich. Horror excels from this great format when done correctly as at home we are closer to the experience then at a theater IMO. I’ve tried to get Hellfest on 4K but its labeled Dolby 5.1 ??? War movies seem to excel here also Midway is top notch. Invisible Man 2020 was just incredible also. The list can go on, so kudos for doing a top 10 mate, very hard to do with so much great content out there.
It was almost an impossible top 10 to put together Michael. There was far too many movies. Hellfest trust me when I say is dtsx. Not sure why it's labeled as Dolby 5.1. If you can pick it up trust me my friend do it I know you will love it. Great shout out by the way for invisible man. Wow I really need to revisit that movie it's been a while. 2 fantastic sounding movies and I have little complaints with either of them. There's too many good sounding movies on 4k. It's a wonder I was able to come up with a top 10
@@millerman9991 yeh my biggest gripe with 4k is when a release doesn't get an audio upgrade tbh. Likes of alien, predator etc. It's criminal they didn't get any audio love . ( and I don't buy into this that's how the director intended bs ! Look at how awesome the exorcist sounds in atmos) lol , rant over 😂, keep up the good work mate.
A 100% agree with you Ian. They really missed a trick with alien and Predator when it came to their audio. I remember being so disappointed when they got released especially when you see how beautiful they actually look on 4k.

Hi Keith, Great info for all of us who want to capture some of the best movies on 4K with the sound to match, i was so tempted with that U.S 4K release of "Escape from New York" containing that slipcover with the iconic movie poster, 🤣🤣🤣👍bullets whizzing past while playing "Saving Private Ryan" with the sound, that made me chuckle, i know its a horror Halloween movie that you"ve recommended many times & actually today i was trying to remember what the title is & now you"ve just shown it "Hell fest"👍 i"m sure its still not out in the UK ? Planning a huge horror haul for October 😎
Honestly Carlos I cannot praise hell fest anymore than I have in the last year or two. It gives me everything that I want from a horror movie and if you have the means to do so try and pick up the 4K release. For me it's the perfect 4K disc. It doesn't get better than Hell Fest. The picture and sound is that good it puts you right into the middle of the fun fair. I'm not kidding it's that good. Look forward to seeing your huge horror haul by the way for October.

I think sometimes people hear a very loud movie and assume it's a great sounding movie but like I said in my video I like when the sound has fun with you and that's what you get with a lot of my movies in this top ten. I really liked the Spider Man Across the Spiderverse 4K. In my opinion one of the best 4K releases of the year. Fantastic looking, I loved my G3 Oled while watching and great sound.
I never got around to checking out Spiderman across the spider verse but I have seen trailers and I can only imagine how well that looks on 4k. Will definitely look into it some time in the future
Such a great list and video, my friend. I love what you said about CLOVERFIELD and the surrounds keeping you inside the movie’s world even in the quieter scenes. That says it all for me when it comes to great immersive sound. Not just the heavy blown action moments, but the more subtle “real life” stuff that keep the illusion alive and don’t allow your imagination to venture out of the film’s atmosphere. Like the snowstorm in KRAMPUS that you mentioned. Perfect example! Even inside the house we are enveloped by that storm and it adds immeasurably to the foreboding malevolence that is out and about. For me it's all about immersion when it comes to sound. That's why I have hellfest at number one. The sound and picture is that good on that release it almost puts you in the middle of the carnival. It's all I could ever possibly ask for when it comes to a great 4K release. Krampus is very similar to hellfest in how active it is. It's also a fun movie and that's exactly what you get with the sound. It plays with you and when it needs to hit hard it does particularly with that storm. Hey Keith, Cloverfield is a stunner. Godzilla vs. Kong (I know you presented Godzilla King of Monsters) was the best sound experience I had so far in our state of the art cinema. To let you know the Cineplex Münster is the top three of the best and biggest cinemas here in Germany and talking about the equipment no.1 in audio and video! We have a brand new CGS technique as a giant screen which makes 3D look like natural picture, it doen´t look darker with 3D glasses on. The Cineplex is run by two brothers who are nerds in their own right and both of them live for the best presentation on screen! I like to add Terminator Salvation which is another example of how immersive a DTS-HD MA can sound! The new Sleepy Hollow track also needs to be mentioned and Aquaman. I also like to point out how good even older movies can sound, if you put the right audio to it. Shout Factory did so bringing new life to John Carpenter classics with Dolby Atmos such as the original Halloween, Prince of Darkness and my beloved The Fog. The latter is simply breathtaking in Dolby Atmos and it was that upgrade, the movie needed so much compared to the mediocre DTS-HD MA. The Purge benefits a lot from the DTS:X on the 4K release as well (talking about Anarchy which I enjoy the most of the franchise). And to finish my long comment, JAWS has also been restored in such an impressive manner! Greetz from Germany, Basti
To be honest there is so many movies I could have put in this top 10. Any of the Terminator movies could have easily got into this top 10. As you mentioned Sleepy Hollow is another great pick. I knew I was always going to put in one of the John Carpenter movies from shout factory because as you said they done amazing work on the sound so I opted for Escape from New York. I'm going to be watching The Purge franchise in the next couple of weeks. I love how those movies look and sound on 4k. If I had to pick out my favorite when it comes to best sound in The Purge franchise I would opt for the last one the forever Purge. I thought it sounded amazing. I don't have surround but I have a great set of headphones if I want to listen to a movie with good sound quality. In reference to Everest, I love towards the end of the movie when the storm comes in and you hear the thunder crashing, it all sounds absolutely amazing in the heights. As far as Hellfest goes, I f-ing love that movie so much. Watching it gives you the feeling of actually being there right in the middle of the carnival, it's just so atmospheric and doesn't get any better for a movie of that sort, and yes, the picture quality is stellar. Hey Chris. For some strange reason hellfest is very expensive and it's because of the slip cover that comes with it. People go crazy over trying to get it. Honestly Chris I think it is worth checking out just for the audio alone but if you could I definitely recommend trying to get the 4K without the slip cover. Trust me when I say you are seeing something absolutely extraordinary when it comes to picture quality and sound
Hey Keith, very interesting list I’ve seen almost all of them, and heard most of them in their best sound format. Certainly can’t argue with you. They all sound great. funny you mention back to the future. That was the first movie. I played on my first hi-fi stereo VHS player that I had just purchased along with my 25 inch Fisher monitor with an NEC tube stage of the art back in 1986 each one costing $800 which I picked up in my $350 car, which I had bought the year before a 1973 gremlin don’t know if you know what that is, but they do appear in movies every now and again. what I usually use for demo is a little oddball the opening to the blues Brothers and the opening two the new blade runner I’m very blessed I have two 1700 W subwoofers and the base is very filling it’s not that loud but it really sets the tone and it’s a lot of fun. That's the one great thing when it comes to my top 10 you might not agree with some of the movies that are in it but there's no denying that all of them sound amazing. Somebody summed it up perfectly in the comment section the difference between sounding loud and sounding good. I couldn't have phrased it more perfectly. Yeah like I said in my video I have my personal tastes when it comes to what I see as demo worthy audio. I want to be engaged and immersed into the sound and that's what I got with my 10 movies. Hellfest is a revelation on 4K whether it's the picture or audio. It puts you right in the middle of that fun fair and I was so impressed by it. Hey Keith I knew you were going to mention moonfall it's just utterly ridiculous, it can actually break your subwoofer if you're not careful. My neighbours that day were probably wondering wtf was going on that day. I still have to see hellfest on 4k, and I will let you know when I see clovetfield soon what I think of that. There's some great horror atmos mixes, even watching annebelle creation in atmos before the nun 2 was a fun mix with sounds passing all around across the speakers. Have you heard the quiet place films in atmos? Those are really cool mixes and there's a few demo scenes in each film.
I actually contemplated putting a quiet place into my top 10 and the only reason why I didn't in the end is because it wasn't consistent enough. I know the demo moments you are talking about and they are absolutely incredible and amazingly immersive. Never thought I would get that from a movie called a quiet place. Hellfest is a must pick up on 4K and if you can find it Steve trust me take a gamble on it I think you'll be impressed. It's a fantastic movie and one of the best looking 4k discs out there with an equally impressive audio. It's the perfect 4k release

Yes Steve I had to buy it directly from the States. But if you can find one trust me pick it up because the picture and sound is absolutely extraordinary. I love that movie haunt myself. Looking forward to checking it out in October
Yeah, I bought all 3 Back to the Future Steelbooks a couple of weeks ago and those clocks at the beginning sound superb and when the Huey Lewis soundtrack kicks in it's fantastic...
Dammit I forgot to mention the Huey Lewis Power of Love. Everything about Back to the Future blew me away. The entire trilogy is amazing. Never thought they would look and sound this good.
@@illiwe I really like that film despite the historical inaccuracies but I struggle to justify £22 on a one time watch - it's on Netfix or Prime, can't remember but it won't have the Atmos soundtrack, after watching this I picked up a copy of Everest 4k for £4.50 but now I need Private Ryan and Ready player One so waiting for bargains to pop up...expensive passtime

I think Roma by Alfonso Cauron is one of the best Dolby Atmos mixes I’ve ever heard. It’s not a fast paced or loud movie but it’s precise and detailed. I was surprised how effective it was.
Wow now that is a very interesting pick. I have never seen the movie but after reading this I must look into it. I think we're on the same wavelength when it comes to what sounds good on 4k. It doesn't always have to be loud

Hey Harry. Cloverfield was such a surprise when it came to its audio especially it being found footage movie. Sounds quite incredible. Mad Max Fury Road was so close to making this top 10. Very impressive. One movie I was massively impressed with and it was very close to making this top 10 was John Carpenter's Christine. As a matter of fact most of John Carpenter's movies on 4K sound amazing
There's another two that come to mind that have no business to sound as good as they do Ferris Bueller's Day Off and Stand By Me. Both have Dolby Atmos soundtracks and breed new life into them movies
Among my favourites is KONG VS GODZILLA. Lots of front to back and side to side Atmos action. I have all of the titles you mentioned except for HELLFEST. I really should check it out now! Great viddy!
I was always going to put in a Godzilla movie but I opted for king of the monsters. Not taking anything away from Kong versus Godzilla which sounds astonishing. I honestly can't praise Hell Fest enough in terms of what it accomplishes on 4k. Definitely worth checking out

I didn't want anyone to think that the entire top 10 was going to be nothing but incredibly loud movies. Movies like Transformers, John Wick & Top Gun Maverick All The Usual Suspects. I definitely understand why people don't like it though. I'm debating which version to get or just hope for a US release. I heard one of the 4Ks may be a censored version?
It's one of those movies maybe I'm due a revisit on it and see how I feel about it today. I was very surprised to see it get a 4K release seeming it's one of the biggest flops in box office history. It's actually great to see movies like that get this kind of treatment
The 4k disc is region free the Blu-ray isn't. But I am almost certain all the special features are on the 4K disc as well so you will have no need for the Blu-ray disc. Among my favourites for sound has to be Black Christmas Joker, the Dark Night AMAZING the best in my humble opinion and Wizard of OZ for a 1939 movie it was like it was done yesterday

I thought the 3rd Matrix sounded waaay better than the first 2. That fight scene at the end with Neo and Smith is one of the best sounding moments ever.
I thought the entire trilogy sounded amazing but there's something about the first one that I love and it's mainly to do with how the placement of the sound was handled. All three are demo worthy
Gr8 video. The 3 films that blew me away in atmos was 1 a quiet place 2 house with a clock in the walls ( us edition) 3 black hawk down. I actually thought atmos was a gimmick until i got a quiet place .
Great shout out for a quiet place and it almost made my top 10. I think it would have been 11. It's funny to think that a movie that's designed to be quiet can be so effective. Black Hawk Down is another great example. Any war movie sounds amazing
@@millerman9991 a quiet place was the 1st film that really gave me that atmos experience, probably why I regard it so fondly . Another epic was the house with a clock in its walls us edition, bought that by a fluke in a bundle, real demo material.
I do have house with a clock in the walls on 4K but for the life of me I cannot remember it. Now that you brought it to my attention I must dig it out and have a look at it.
Schindlers List John Williams' score is just amazing. it's just pulls at your heartstrings, one of my favourite war films, another movie, although not on 4k disc YET, but available to stream on Disney is underwater.....Tears of the Sun, is another blu ray that's just amazing and my last mention is Fury

@millerman9991 Yeah, Kristen Stewart mate l am actually streaming it as l type it's in Atmos on Disney....just purchased it on blu ray it arrives tomorrow...blu ray has 7-1 DTS-HD so it should be interesting how both compare

The thing you say at the start about escape from New York is what I thought about BEVERLY HILLS COP & AKIRA. It didn't just sound remastered it sounded remixed!
Yeah it's a very strange thing. I think when you introduce the higher channels that alone is going to give you something different in terms of the theme song. I don't know how to describe it but it sounded so different and for a second I actually did think it was remixed. I need to check out Beverly Hills Cop again because I honestly don't remember how it sounded

I dont have Dolby Atmos on my ysp 2500 Yamaha sound projector with subwoofer , but its a good bit of kit im in s semi detached house so i do have to he careful ( sometimes) 😅with volume 🤨😁 maybe one day il get Dolby Atmos
Hey Stuart. That's why I ended up buying a POD for my back garden so I can have peace of mind when it comes to my sound. I never wanted to annoy my neighbors even though there was times I did. To be honest Gary moonfall never got a UK release on 4k. You can get a German version which doesn't come with Dolby Atmos but there's a French version that does. As you can see in the video I have the American one
Don't forget Canada got it as well. Pisses me off that Midway didn't get the Atmos treatment for the Canadian release. If I had known prior I would have skipped the movie and just bought it when I visited the U.S.A.
Great list and a lot of other great films are listed in the comments as well. My all-time favorite is Mad Max Fury Road. Both the 4K Blu-ray and the 3D Blu-ray. That is my go-to for an immersive soundtrack.
Mad Max Fury Road was so close to making this top 10. To be honest there are so many movies out there that could have made it. It was a right pain in the ass trying to come up with my favorites. Everyone’s taste is different and I agree atmosphere is key as George Lucas said “ Sound is 50% of the movie experience “ The bombastic titles are fun as hell and Saving Private Ryan is always a go to demo. Moonfall was exceptional and really lots of fun from Emmerich. Horror excels from this great format when done correctly as at home we are closer to the experience then at a theater IMO. I’ve tried to get Hellfest on 4K but its labeled Dolby 5.1 ??? War movies seem to excel here also Midway is top notch. Invisible Man 2020 was just incredible also. The list can go on, so kudos for doing a top 10 mate, very hard to do with so much great content out there.
It was almost an impossible top 10 to put together Michael. There was far too many movies. Hellfest trust me when I say is dtsx. Not sure why it's labeled as Dolby 5.1. If you can pick it up trust me my friend do it I know you will love it. Great shout out by the way for invisible man. Wow I really need to revisit that movie it's been a while. @@millerman9991 yeh my biggest gripe with 4k is when a release doesn't get an audio upgrade tbh. Likes of alien, predator etc. It's criminal they didn't get any audio love . ( and I don't buy into this that's how the director intended bs ! Look at how awesome the exorcist sounds in atmos) lol , rant over 😂, keep up the good work mate.
A 100% agree with you Ian. They really missed a trick with alien and Predator when it came to their audio. I remember being so disappointed when they got released especially when you see how beautiful they actually look on 4k.

Great info for all of us who want to capture some of the best movies on 4K with the sound to match, i was so tempted with that U.S 4K release of "Escape from New York" containing that slipcover with the iconic movie poster, 🤣🤣🤣👍bullets whizzing past while playing "Saving Private Ryan" with the sound, that made me chuckle, i know its a horror Halloween movie that you"ve recommended many times & actually today i was trying to remember what the title is & now you"ve just shown it "Hell fest"👍 i"m sure its still not out in the UK ?

Honestly Carlos I cannot praise hell fest anymore than I have in the last year or two. It gives me everything that I want from a horror movie and if you have the means to do so try and pick up the 4K release. For me it's the perfect 4K disc. It doesn't get better than Hell Fest. The picture and sound is that good it puts you right into the middle of the fun fair. I'm not kidding it's that good. Look forward to seeing your huge horror haul by the way for October.

I think sometimes people hear a very loud movie and assume it's a great sounding movie but like I said in my video I like when the sound has fun with you and that's what you get with a lot of my movies in this top ten. I really liked the Spider Man Across the Spiderverse 4K. In my opinion one of the best 4K releases of the year. Fantastic looking, I loved my G3 Oled while watching and great sound.
I never got around to checking out Spiderman across the spider verse but I have seen trailers and I can only imagine how well that looks on 4k. Will definitely look into it some time in the future
Such a great list and video, my friend. I love what you said about CLOVERFIELD and the surrounds keeping you inside the movie’s world even in the quieter scenes. That says it all for me when it comes to great immersive sound. Not just the heavy blown action moments, but the more subtle “real life” stuff that keep the illusion alive and don’t allow your imagination to venture out of the film’s atmosphere. Like the snowstorm in KRAMPUS that you mentioned. Perfect example! Even inside the house we are enveloped by that storm and it adds immeasurably to the foreboding malevolence that is out and about. Brilliant! Another 5 Star video, Keith, saved by me in a playlist for future reference and enjoyment. 👍
For me it's all about immersion when it comes to sound. That's why I have hellfest at number one. The sound and picture is that good on that release it almost puts you in the middle of the carnival. It's all I could ever possibly ask for when it comes to a great 4K release. Krampus is very similar to hellfest in how active it is. It's also a fun movie and that's exactly what you get with the sound. It plays with you and when it needs to hit hard it does particularly with that storm. Hey Keith, Cloverfield is a stunner. Godzilla vs. Kong (I know you presented Godzilla King of Monsters) was the best sound experience I had so far in our state of the art cinema. To let you know the Cineplex Münster is the top three of the best and biggest cinemas here in Germany and talking about the equipment no.1 in audio and video! We have a brand new CGS technique as a giant screen which makes 3D look like natural picture, it doen´t look darker with 3D glasses on. The Cineplex is run by two brothers who are nerds in their own right and both of them live for the best presentation on screen! I like to add Terminator Salvation which is another example of how immersive a DTS-HD MA can sound! The new Sleepy Hollow track also needs to be mentioned and Aquaman. I also like to point out how good even older movies can sound, if you put the right audio to it. Shout Factory did so bringing new life to John Carpenter classics with Dolby Atmos such as the original Halloween, Prince of Darkness and my beloved The Fog. The latter is simply breathtaking in Dolby Atmos and it was that upgrade, the movie needed so much compared to the mediocre DTS-HD MA. The Purge benefits a lot from the DTS:X on the 4K release as well (talking about Anarchy which I enjoy the most of the franchise). And to finish my long comment, JAWS has also been restored in such an impressive manner! Greetz from Germany, Basti
To be honest there is so many movies I could have put in this top 10. Any of the Terminator movies could have easily got into this top 10. As you mentioned Sleepy Hollow is another great pick. I knew I was always going to put in one of the John Carpenter movies from shout factory because as you said they done amazing work on the sound so I opted for Escape from New York. I'm going to be watching The Purge franchise in the next couple of weeks. I love how those movies look and sound on 4k. If I had to pick out my favorite when it comes to best sound in The Purge franchise I would opt for the last one the forever Purge. I thought it sounded amazing. In reference to Everest, I love towards the end of the movie when the storm comes in and you hear the thunder crashing, it all sounds absolutely amazing in the heights. As far as Hellfest goes, I f-ing love that movie so much. Watching it gives you the feeling of actually being there right in the middle of the carnival, it's just so atmospheric and doesn't get any better for a movie of that sort, and yes, the picture quality is stellar. Hey Chris. For some strange reason hellfest is very expensive and it's because of the slip cover that comes with it. People go crazy over trying to get it. Honestly Chris I think it is worth checking out just for the audio alone but if you could I definitely recommend trying to get the 4K without the slip cover. Trust me when I say you are seeing something absolutely extraordinary when it comes to picture quality and sound
Hey Keith, very interesting list I’ve seen almost all of them, and heard most of them in their best sound format. Certainly can’t argue with you. They all sound great. funny you mention back to the future. That was the first movie. I played on my first hi-fi stereo VHS player that I had just purchased along with my 25 inch Fisher monitor with an NEC tube stage of the art back in 1986 each one costing $800 which I picked up in my $350 car, which I had bought the year before a 1973 gremlin don’t know if you know what that is, but they do appear in movies every now and again. what I usually use for demo is a little oddball the opening to the blues Brothers and the opening two the new blade runner I’m very blessed I have two 1700 W subwoofers and the base is very filling it’s not that loud but it really sets the tone and it’s a lot of fun. That's the one great thing when it comes to my top 10 you might not agree with some of the movies that are in it but there's no denying that all of them sound amazing. Somebody summed it up perfectly in the comment section the difference between sounding loud and sounding good. I couldn't have phrased it more perfectly. Yeah like I said in my video I have my personal tastes when it comes to what I see as demo worthy audio. I want to be engaged and immersed into the sound and that's what I got with my 10 movies. Hellfest is a revelation on 4K whether it's the picture or audio. It puts you right in the middle of that fun fair and I was so impressed by it. Hey Keith I knew you were going to mention moonfall it's just utterly ridiculous, it can actually break your subwoofer if you're not careful. My neighbours that day were probably wondering wtf was going on that day. I still have to see hellfest on 4k, and I will let you know when I see clovetfield soon what I think of that. There's some great horror atmos mixes, even watching annebelle creation in atmos before the nun 2 was a fun mix with sounds passing all around across the speakers. Have you heard the quiet place films in atmos? Those are really cool mixes and there's a few demo scenes in each film.
I actually contemplated putting a quiet place into my top 10 and the only reason why I didn't in the end is because it wasn't consistent enough. I know the demo moments you are talking about and they are absolutely incredible and amazingly immersive. Never thought I would get that from a movie called a quiet place. Hellfest is a must pick up on 4K and if you can find it Steve trust me take a gamble on it I think you'll be impressed. It's a fantastic movie and one of the best looking 4k discs out there with an equally impressive audio. It's the perfect 4k release
@millerman9991 I did see it years ago and remember liking it, it keeps making me think of Haunt aswell. I think it's a us release so I'll check around ebay and wowhd. I saw monster squad was announced officially now will have to pre order that. I have night of the demons set on the way.
The bass in that movie is crazy. So much so that it blew the fuse in my 1500RMS 18" Cerwin Vega subwoofer.

Dammit I forgot to mention the Huey Lewis Power of Love. Everything about Back to the Future blew me away. The entire trilogy is amazing. Never thought they would look and sound this good.

I think Roma by Alfonso Cauron is one of the best Dolby Atmos mixes I’ve ever heard. It’s not a fast paced or loud movie but it’s precise and detailed. I was surprised how effective it was.
Wow now that is a very interesting pick. I have never seen the movie but after reading this I must look into it. I think we're on the same wavelength when it comes to what sounds good on 4k. It doesn't always have to be loud

I bought the stream on Apple+ but I have a feeling that the 4k disk would be much better. Besides Mad Max Fury Road, do you have any other lesser known honorable mentions that did not make cut? Hey Harry. Cloverfield was such a surprise when it came to its audio especially it being found footage movie. Sounds quite incredible. Mad Max Fury Road was so close to making this top 10. Very impressive. One movie I was massively impressed with and it was very close to making this top 10 was John Carpenter's Christine. As a matter of fact most of John Carpenter's movies on 4K sound amazing

There's another two that come to mind that have no business to sound as good as they do Ferris Bueller's Day Off and Stand By Me. Both have Dolby Atmos soundtracks and breed new life into them movies
@@millerman9991 I chuckled at that. I didn't know those 2 movies had a 4k transfer. Well the sound engineer must have put some extra love into them.
It's strange because everytime I see movies like them getting Dolby Atmos I automatically know the picture quality is going to look amazing on them.
I felt the surround sound on the original Jurassic park was a letdown.
To be honest I felt let down by Everything when it comes to Jurassic Park on 4k. Such a shame. It deserves better
Among my favourites is KONG VS GODZILLA. Lots of front to back and side to side Atmos action. I have all of the titles you mentioned except for HELLFEST. I really should check it out now! Great viddy!
I was always going to put in a Godzilla movie but I opted for king of the monsters. Not taking anything away from Kong versus Godzilla which sounds astonishing. I honestly can't praise Hell Fest enough in terms of what it accomplishes on 4k. Definitely worth checking out

I didn't want anyone to think that the entire top 10 was going to be nothing but incredibly loud movies. Movies like Transformers, John Wick & Top Gun Maverick All The Usual Suspects. Wanted to throw in a few surprises as well. No I will not be picking up Cutthroat Island on 4k. To be honest I wasn't a fan
@millerman9991 I get it. I'm just messing with you. I like that your list had more nuance. Cutthroat Island has been a favorite since it came out. I definitely understand why people don't like it though. I'm debating which version to get or just hope for a US release. I heard one of the 4Ks may be a censored version?
It's one of those movies maybe I'm due a revisit on it and see how I feel about it today. I was very surprised to see it get a 4K release seeming it's one of the biggest flops in box office history. It's actually great to see movies like that get this kind of treatment

The 4k disc is region free the Blu-ray isn't. But I am almost certain all the special features are on the 4K disc as well so you will have no need for the Blu-ray disc. Among my favourites for sound has to be Black Christmas Joker, the Dark Night AMAZING the best in my humble opinion and Wizard of OZ for a 1939 movie it was like it was done yesterday
I still haven't gotten around to checking out Wizard of Oz but great to hear that the sound is that good. That will definitely inspire me to pick it up.

I can't stress to you how much I love hellfest. If you're into your Halloween themed movies trust me this is a must to check out and if you can make sure to get the 4K release. You will not believe how great that movie looks and sounds on 4k

I thought the 3rd Matrix sounded waaay better than the first 2. That fight scene at the end with Neo and Smith is one of the best sounding moments ever.
I thought the entire trilogy sounded amazing but there's something about the first one that I love and it's mainly to do with how the placement of the sound was handled. All three are demo worthy

Great shout out for a quiet place and it almost made my top 10. I think it would have been 11. It's funny to think that a movie that's designed to be quiet can be so effective. Black Hawk Down is another great example. Any war movie sounds amazing
@@millerman9991 a quiet place was the 1st film that really gave me that atmos experience, probably why I regard it so fondly . Another epic was the house with a clock in its walls us edition, bought that by a fluke in a bundle, real demo material.
I do have house with a clock in the walls on 4K but for the life of me I cannot remember it. Now that you brought it to my attention I must dig it out and have a look at it.
It all depends on your set up as well you don't get the full Atmos experience if you are only watching with the tvs built in speakers
I've never tried Atmos through my television but if I'm completely honest I wouldn't think it's all that impressive.
Schindlers List John Williams' score is just amazing. it's just pulls at your heartstrings, one of my favourite war films, another movie, although not on 4k disc YET, but available to stream on Disney is underwater.....Tears of the Sun, is another blu ray that's just amazing and my last mention is Fury
It's shocking to think that I actually have Schindler's List on 4K but yet to check it out. Great to hear that I'm going to be in for a treat in terms of its sound. To be honest James any war movie could have easily been in this top 10. Every single one of them sound amazing.
I've seen underwater. Would I be right in saying Kristen Stewart is in it. I honestly can't remember the movie all that well but now that you've put it in my head I will definitely check it out.
@millerman9991 Yeah, Kristen Stewart mate l am actually streaming it as l type it's in Atmos on Disney....just purchased it on blu ray it arrives tomorrow...blu ray has 7-1 DTS-HD so it should be interesting how both compare
I'm going to check it out tomorrow and see what I think of it. Unfortunately I do not have Disney plus so I will have to stick with the 7.1 DTS. I'm sure it will sound fantastic

The thing you say at the start about escape from New York is what I thought about BEVERLY HILLS COP & AKIRA. It didn't just sound remastered it sounded remixed!
Yeah it's a very strange thing. I think when you introduce the higher channels that alone is going to give you something different in terms of the theme song. I don't know how to describe it but it sounded so different and for a second I actually did think it was remixed. I need to check out Beverly Hills Cop again because I honestly don't remember how it sounded

I dont have Dolby Atmos on my ysp 2500 Yamaha sound projector with subwoofer , but its a good bit of kit im in s semi detached house so i do have to he careful ( sometimes) 😅with volume 🤨😁 maybe one day il get Dolby Atmos
Hey Stuart. That's why I ended up buying a POD for my back garden so I can have peace of mind when it comes to my sound. I never wanted to annoy my neighbors even though there was times I did. To be honest Mark I bought it on eBay years ago. It only got a US release on 4k. If you can find one trust me it's worth picking up

Moonfall does not have a Dolby atmos soundtrack on the uk 4k only the American disc
To be honest Gary moonfall never got a UK release on 4k. You can get a German version which doesn't come with Dolby Atmos but there's a French version that does. As you can see in the video I have the American one
Don't forget Canada got it as well. Pisses me off that Midway didn't get the Atmos treatment for the Canadian release. If I had known prior I would have skipped the movie and just bought it when I visited the U.S.A.
