A little over a year ago, an advanced lipid profile revealed to me that I had a high level of Lp(a) (172nmol/L). After a year of taking niacin (1000mg/day), my recent profile showed the level has dropped to 138nmol/L, about a 25% reduction.
I took 50 mg - it went down from 82 to 72.
Do true anticoagulants (not just aspirin) offer any protection since Lp(a) promotes blood clotting?
