It sounds like your fan housing not properly insulated and causing rapid heat from motor and cooling

    Hi there.
I have exactly the same issue as you.
And my Siemens extractor goes into condensation expelling mode (vent to velocity 1) during a few minutes before turning itself off.
One thing that might help as well (although on your case "short extraction tube length" it shouldn't make a huge difference) is to insulate the metal extraction tube (which is metal, and so colder) preventing water vapour to turn into liquid inside the tube.
You can do this by surrounding the whole tube.
Finally as a preventive measure, you can add (next to the back draft valve) an condensation trap (and letting the resulting water go to the drainage using a small tube).

We found that letting the hood fan run for a few minutes after we are done boiling water stopped any water from dripping

@@jamesmckeachie6149 I have the same issue…the point is for it not to drip during cooking. The mess is already made

Manufacturer said to leave it running for a few minutes after cooking and that has solved the problem. It’s due to my induction cooktop apparently ?

Keep the fan running for 5 min or so when you’re done cooking and it won’t drip
