The Actors Academy How to get into character. I mean Ik u gotta study, research all the good stuff but is there necessarily some change you feel inside genuinely if you truly truly get into a character because I have never felt that.
G O N D O R A J K U M A R no don’t worry you won’t actually feel like your character , you just want to really get into your emotions and maybe you can imagine you are in there situation (you won’t actually believe you are them, but you may feel the emotion that they would be feeling) hope that made sense

I really related to the hand and leg one. Some of my acting teachers have told me I should be careful with it because I’m the type of person that naturally “speaks with the hands” and does the leg one. But they said “we know you, so we know this is something you naturally do, but who doesn’t know you doesn’t know that”. And also I realized that not everyone does that (and you said it too).
Can you do a series where you get your viewers to send in videos based of a script you post and you can help them with specific issues? I would love to do this because I’ve only done one thing in acting which was a few years ago. :)
1. Doing way too many overly big head movements (note: we do not pre-plan our movements, we just avoid unrealistic ones). 2. Hand symmetry. In every day life, we do not constantly move both of our hands exactly the same. 3. Constantly doing leg slaps (note: do not overemphasize minor points).
I think some actors have bigger, more “exaggerated” movements because they’ve only studied how to act on stage in drama schools. Only a few schools have in-front of camera work.
On point man. Seriously. I really enjoyed this series. Because instead of adding like people tell you to, we need to learn to eliminate the negatives Good job man

Great video, really made me realise I need to stop trying so hard, and just keep things natural...However, In the Uk you always slap your legs when you got to leave a room... "right" *slaps legs and stands up* "best be heading off" lol
Remember, sometimes it’s okay (especially if it fits the moment), but it should not be done every minute/most of the time within the scene. 5%-10% of the time is better than 90% of the time. Hope this helps 😁👍🏼
Soo there was a time my drama teacher told us that there are times you'd want to also show some bad acting skills, for example I had a talent but my greatest challenge was to be good at being bad at acting. I had a role of where my character wanted to be an actor, but was bad at it. In the story she'd get better and things in her life helped add on. My challenge was to be good at acting while being bad, I call it a challenge cause I ended up passing the role onto someone else. And to this day I do think about it, how is that possible? Any tips or advice is greatly appreciated 👍 🙏
That also sounds like to me where the camera is located and if the camera is going for a close-up shot. Then for all of those little to no head movements at all,...that I can see your logical point on.
I'm pretty late, but I have a question. I'm only 13 years old, but I love acting so much. When it is time for applying to colleges and universities would you recommend signing up for the acting classes while focusing on something else or, like, majoring in acting?
As each school/university offers different support to their students; it's best to ask how they can support you as an actor. If they can provide you with access to an industry network, that's wonderful! I'd recommend studying acting as a major or minor in a university course, rather than as an elective. However, taking acting classes that are not linked to a degree or diploma gives you freedom with where and when you study as well. Personally, my acting improved more when I was taking acting classes that weren't linked to my school or university than now, as a Drama major in a Bachelor of Arts course. Hey I was just wondering about something I really like acting but I’m a high schooler and I don’t know if I could get an actual job so I don’t know what to do what do u recommend for me since I’m still in school should I go into a specific college, start classes, drama, etc.
Acting is a risky industry, so it's wise to consider having a back-up career plan. Some online modes of study will help you structure your study for a back-up career around acting auditions, rehearsals, etc. Alternatively, universities/colleges which offer acting courses give their students access to a broad network of industry connections to help them find work after graduation, but I'd recommend asking each institution that you're interested in what they can offer to help you, as a potential graduate, find work as an actor. As you are at high school, your school's career counsellor and drama teacher may also be able to offer their insight to the best education and career path for you.

How To Become An Actor And Start Acting With No Experience PART 2 ruclips.net/video/zkqJMNkVaro/видео.html
Do you have any advise on finding auditions? I don’t know where to go or who to trust, if you know what I mean. Either way, thanks for the helpful videos!

I have a Short question... i have quite a Germany accent do you think this will be a big problem when I wanna become an actor and if so, do you have any ideas of how I can lose it and sound more natural or do you think it’s fine and could even give me some advantages in some cases?... btw. Really good video, keep your great work up👌👏🏻
you can definitely use your accent as an advantage, still you should be able to pull of an american or british accent (depending on where you want to work). Just watch tons of videos from american youtubers, look at their speaking mannerisms and try to mimic how they talk. Same goes for british. Maybe look up the difference between English accents to understand the language more, hear examples of german accents to be aware of what makes you sound particularly German.
As Arnold Schwarzenegger's famous Austrian accent became part of his personal branding and helped him during his acting career; I don't believe that having a German accent will be an issue as you look for acting work because it's a difficult accent for native English speakers to master and opens you to opportunities to use your native accent as an actor. However, there's no harm in trying to learn an English or American accent as both of these will help you when auditioning for a wider variety of roles. There are some great tutorials for a generalised American accent on RUclips like the series by Amy Walker, which helped me learn that accent. I believe that an American accent is easier to learn and master than an English accent.

For theater it really depends on your proximity from the audience. For example a black box theater is much smaller than say The Old Globe. So for theater it’s really dealing with the proximity issue. This is why when someone is also in a theater class, you have to also keep in mind the proximity between you and your classmates. The farther away your audience gets, usually means the bigger your movements might be. It’s about finding a happy medium within that proximity. Hope that helps 👍🏼
The Actors Academy so if we’re doing a self tape audition but it’s for a musical, are the big head movements fine? assuming the performance would be in a large venue
It depends on your proximity from the camera. The farther away you are, the more movement you can use since more of you will be visible in the frame. With that being said, because it is on camera you don’t want to over do it. The best thing you could do is work to give the most realistic performance on the medium they will be viewing you (which will be on camera and not on stage (at the moment)).

From what I know; Los Angeles, New York City, Atlanta and San Francisco are great cities in the United States for acting auditions. New York and San Francisco have great opportunities for theatre actors whereas Los Angeles and Atlanta offer more film roles. Some predict that Atlanta's film industry will boom as more talent moves there to take advantage of a less competitive acting scene than what's in Los Angeles.
Maybe check if your school has a drama club?? Or try to get a group of friends that are passionate about acting and put on small plays when COVID is over for the community and you can gain recognition
My Problems Are that i just cant Show my emotions like THIS REAL emotions and i still tried to Cry with the method to just Open they're Eyes for a Long Time i somehow still cant rlly Cry...and I live in Germany sooo where Should i go for acting --
(sorry I already commented this) I want to be an actor, but I live in Australia. Even though I'm 14, I have no idea how I'm going to accomplish that. I've done some school things before but that's really it. Our school did wicked recently, and I was casted as a Nessarose. I had a lot of fun doing it, and it has inspired me to do more. Anyone have ideas cause it seems like there is good advice here.
Also, the more you keep on moving unnecessarily - the more the editor will hate you. And, if you keep on clapping your knee (or anything for that matter) while speaking, so will the sound editor. 😉
I’m on backstage and star now and I have everything set up apart from headshots! There’s one casting for a role that i relate to almost perfectly and I wanted to show my mum but as I don’t have any headshots I decided not to. I’m hoping to take some soon with the camera we have at home as we can’t meet up with my friend with a professional camera
Of course it is doable. There are many famous actors that are not Caucasian. Will Smith, Caleb Mclaughlin, Morgan Freeman are three, but there are many more.
There's room in the acting industry for everyone, regardless of their skin colour. Although the industry is dominated by white people, there is definitely a push for more diversity and the industry has become more open-minded than it was in the past. For example, Hamilton: The Musical has done colourblind casting to help actors of colour find opportunities in the arts that they wouldn't have been able to access without that push. Some famous actors of colour include Keiynan Lonsdale (Love, Simon), Auli'i Cravalho (Moana, Rise), Zoe Kravitz (Divergent, Fantastic Beasts), Kedar Williams-Stirling (Sex Education), Amandla Stenberg (The Hunger Games, The Hate U Give), Freema Agyeman (Doctor Who, Sense8) and John Boyega (Star Wars, Pacific Rim, The Circle). In summary; don't let anything hold you back because there are acting opportunities out there for everyone.
I was thinking about it, there is some characters that do the head thing like daily, like it's part of they're personality. So if that's your character, it's totally fine.

Maybe check if your school has a drama club?? Or try to get a group of friends that are passionate about acting and put on small plays when COVID is over for the community and you can gain recognition
My Problems Are that i just cant Show my emotions like THIS REAL emotions and i still tried to Cry with the method to just Open they're Eyes for a Long Time i somehow still cant rlly Cry...and I live in Germany sooo where Should i go for acting --
this is good
(sorry I already commented this) I want to be an actor, but I live in Australia. Even though I'm 14, I have no idea how I'm going to accomplish that. I've done some school things before but that's really it. Our school did wicked recently, and I was casted as a Nessarose. I had a lot of fun doing it, and it has inspired me to do more. Anyone have ideas cause it seems like there is good advice here.
i wanna be an actor obviously at Hollywood but im indian and...yeah
I laugh every time I do some dramatic scenes or something. Is that normal? What can I do and how to deal?
Your voice is so relaxing you should do a asmr
okay, but did you find the cat?
Also, the more you keep on moving unnecessarily - the more the editor will hate you. And, if you keep on clapping your knee (or anything for that matter) while speaking, so will the sound editor. 😉
I’m on backstage and star now and I have everything set up apart from headshots! There’s one casting for a role that i relate to almost perfectly and I wanted to show my mum but as I don’t have any headshots I decided not to. I’m hoping to take some soon with the camera we have at home as we can’t meet up with my friend with a professional camera
idk if acting is my thing, Im british but im brown so I dont think its doable for brown people
Of course it is doable. There are many famous actors that are not Caucasian. Will Smith, Caleb Mclaughlin, Morgan Freeman are three, but there are many more.
Ali Bilgrami anybody can pursue acting. Color should have no effect on deciding to be an actor.
I was forced to act in my school and I accidentally stepped on my classmate while she was "dead"
How old are you, sir ?
Something something cats 😂
I love your sense of humor
But what if my character do that in everyday life
I was thinking about it, there is some characters that do the head thing like daily, like it's part of they're personality. So if that's your character, it's totally fine.
Did anyone else get an ad of t-challa from black panther (Letitia)
