  • TifTuf Bermuda Couch is a warm season lawn that goes dormant in the winter.
Mine has done very well, holding colour well right till the end of July and then I suffered a bit loosing condition by not giving it a drink over a fortnight and at the same time not putting any fertiliser or care into the lawn.
    The lawn entered

Thanks for the update, I have been following your July and August program and the results I’m getting are amazing, can’t believe how green it’s looking here in Queensland.

Very nice lawn. What is the high and low temperature in your area? What kind of fertilize do you use?

Winter lows are about 2-5 and highs can get to about 20 sometimes. I use the Lawnporn products

How do you measure your height? I've got a Bushranger 410. Lowest cut is 7mm. Highest I think is 35mm. But there's no way to know, you just turn the knob to the left and it goes lower. 🤷‍♂️

Flat bar with a screw. Top of the screw goes on the bottom blade. Then adjust till you get the flat bar o. The 2 rollers. Measure the distance between the screw lip and flat bar

Where are you located? It is very important information to judge winter performance.

So TifTuf isn’t a good winter grass for states like Victoria Australia?

If you could, how frequently would you have watered your tiftuf?

I have been a bit hap hazard this winter as the irrigation controller hasn't been installed yet.
Depends on the time of year.
Spring-Summer 1-2 times a week, deeply early in the morning when the sun starts to rise.
Autumn -Winter once deeply in the morning every 7-10 days.
Post renovation is a bit different, for the first week I split up watering 4 times a day, early morn, late morn, early arvo, late arvo about 10-15mins a day for the first week, then same for week 2 but one day on then one day off, then week 3 ill go to 2-3 deep morning waterings a week and then week 4 go to my 1-2 deep morning watering a week (for my system about 1/5 hours to fill a 94g tuna can. I use soil wetter to keep my water nicely at the root zone.

How does tiftuff cope with frost?
