If you listen to Jenn under the assumption that she knew Maddie was dead from the very beginning, then everything she says and does ends up actually making more sense. She displays no desire to search, no urgency, and asks minimal questions of the police about why they think she is de@d. This is all before her body was found remember… Her biggest self incriminating comment was when she says, “they fcking know something” to Stephan when telling him he needs a lawyer. She quickly tried to distract after she said that. Oops! She has guilty knowledge, and her cries only come out when she feels like the police are on to her. She needs to be arrested.

No one out of the loop would guess ‘choking’ when, to their knowledge, their child had been overdosed with a double dose. They would also assume with that information that their child was slumped because she was still passed out from that double dose so late at night. You wouldn’t be able to fathom they were gone without more proof. The speculation about gators eating ‘the body’ was just insane. Especially since Stephan was on route to Gator Lake.

Detective Kevin represented Madeleine better than Jen ever will. She could have pulled over at the school , called her mum and asked if Madeleine was there , she shouldn’t have cared what other parents thought about her holding the line and Infact she should have been screaming at them all to see if they have seen her daughter. She wasted time driving back and forth and the school was right there and she knew Maddy would not have passed by her car without seeing her . She is a liar and this one seems unbelievable too.

Just the other day my sons football practice was dismissed, they have to walk up this gravel road from the field & parents pick their kids up at the end of that road. Usually no one drives down it bc its not wide enough for 2 cars, so they walk up to the parents waiting at the end. Except my son, he wasn't walking up. I got out of my car, walked halfway down the road & still didn't see him so I ran back to my vehicle & took it down that road bc that was faster than my feet. He went up the hill with his friend & stopped me as I was barreling down that gravel road thank goodness. But you dont leave!!! You don't care how you look, who you are inconveniencing, you find your child! & don't stop searching, inconveniencing, being chaotic until they are found! 😡

Maddie can sleep in her own bed and not “disturb you” and place the partition from the living room in between Maddie and Jenns bed for some privacy. Why does Jenn need a king size bed to herself? If space is an issue replace the king bed with 2 smaller beds . Insisting 3 people sleep in a bed together is just bizarre . Especially with an unrelated man and a 13 year old girl who going through puberty and is having her period. She needs her own bed and space!!

I thought the same thing, young ages can be prescribed hydroxide, but I feel like there has to be a real reason why 13-year-old would be taking it. I didn’t get prescribed it until I was in my mid-20s. And a lot of trauma i’m not saying that’s for every case, but she was still young to be on such a strong medication :/ that made her sleep too so disgusting to be taken advantage like that while on meds i pray for this poor girl it makes me sick
The detectives face when she said “the sex stuff was fine”. They were incredible. So patient even though they looked like they were done with her. Even though Detective Kevin said he was being an a**hole, he was actually still very calm and patient. They deserve raises and medals. Everyone who ever had to interview her does.
Idt the detective was being an ahole at all. The detectives did a great job, remained calm and professional. Being assertive doesn't make someone an ahole. She's the one being the ahole if anything, it's like pulling teeth getting information from her about HER child, her baby smh

There is something very, very wrong with Jenn and her story. We can all see and feel it. She NEVER questions or acts suspicious of Stephan. In fact, she dedends him even at this point when she knows he murdered her daughter. If it was me, the police would have to hand cuff me to the table because I would be breaking down doors to try and get to Stephan if we were in the same building. It's not normal when the whole country is looking for your child, and she's at home holding her ex boyfriends hand , the same person you know was the last person to see her. She's guilty of something. But this is a very real lesson on how the American judicial and criminal systems work. Unless you have evidence of a crime, you can not be arrested. Even a very small amount of evidence. I wouldn't be surprised if, eventually, she is found to be complicit in Maddie's death, but only if they can find inconsistencies and evidence to incriminate her...
There’s more than enough evidence to arrest her. Right now they could book her for child endangerment and child neglect. The reason they haven’t is because I suspect LE is building a much stronger case involving much serious charges.
Unless SS implicates her and they find evidence, she will get away with this… How will she live with herself after this I wonder… But this is Jen Sotto. She will not even need to drug herself to forget (which she will), she will just disassociate herself from this and move on as a butterfly. Short attention span and no remorse if anything whatsoever.
It scares me the way Maddies’s mother talked about the woods, the lake which has ‘gators’ in it…… how did she ever get custody of Maddie & shame on those who never spoke up. This woman hadn’t an ounce of ability as a mother and SHE KNEW what was going on & allowed it to happen….. Of course they didn’t have a good relationship as I expect Maddie had long standing anger issues with a mother who, selfishly refused to protect her. If you offer the suggestion of a lawyer for someone, after photo evidence of CSA & can not justify why you did so, there was knowledge. I think about Maddie crying about not wanting to go home, as she knew SS would be there 😢. I think about the reason that JS said Maddie must come home as she wanted to see her ( for 30 mins) before ‘sending’ them upstairs 🤔🤷🏻♀️. Why did SS tell JS that Maddie had been given a double dose? Why did JS mention drugging & strangulation first, as a method that SS used? Jennifer is upset as it was her birthday the next day and said ‘ it was the worst birthday ever’. Maddie’s 13th birthday was also the worst she ever had. RIP Maddie, I hope you can see that we are all fighting for you 💜💜💜

This totally sounds like a practiced story. The way she is explaining everything, the phrasing... she's being performative. She acts at times like she wants to be seen as totally unaware of everything due to medication and mental health...and other times, she has everything down to the very last detail. When she stumbles and says "I don't know" and changes her story...it definitely sounds like she caught herself making a mistake in her story.
Saying she “would’ve smelled it in the trunk” like wtf!!! If it was my child I probably couldn’t even get that sentence out!! She’s a horrible person and an even worse “mother”
I haven't changed my stance with the mother. She allowed her creepy boyfriend to sleep with her daughter. That alone is more than disturbing. As I've watched more details I also question how much the mother is possibly involved. Her words and actions don't make sense and she always is defending and protecting her boyfriend instead of her daughter. It's sickening and at the very least she should be charged with child neglect/ and or endangerment.

Thanks G for providing us with these interviews. I really want to see Jen charged at a minimum with negligence and endangering Maddie if not more. There is zero excuse for her extremely poor judgement. My heart breaks for Maddie for having to live in a house of horrors. At a minimum Jen is a derelict mother who endangered her child and if it were up to me she would be charged as an accomplice.
I have never seen anything like this, she's a very selfish woman and mother, it's all about herself. She never once said anything nice about Maddie, and she blames everything on her meds, it's like that's all she cares about is her meds. Me, me, me, me, me. I'm so glad the detective went in on her, someone needed to wake this bad mother up.
Nothing nice. She reminds me of my mom. She also has an excuse for the factory reset in his phone and why He was parked around 192 … “flat tire” … and making her daughter appear forgetful … that’s why she left her phone at home ….this lady is trying to cover up his tracks … and to top it off crying for her birthday but not a tear for her daughter … that vile lady didn’t deserve to be a mother … Maddie was too good for her….
Poor Maddie. Surrounded by "adults" yet NOT ONE protected her. Not Mom or grandparents or aunts etc. They knew the sleeping arrangements and did nothing. They knew the unsoundness of Jenn and did nothing.

Someone (SS or JS) did something that night to make it different from other nights to end with her being murdered!

It's difficult for a man to hide an affair for years, but it happens, but to also not notice any behaviors by Madeline towards Stephen is very unlikely.

Jenn likely blamed Maddie and saw her as competition. Jenn was furious about something Sunday night. So bad that she called Stearns over to keep the peace and get the kid in bed before she even got home. If Sterns gave Maddie a benzodiazepine that’s like alcohol in a pill and it’s very disinhibiting. She might’ve stood up for herself. My money is on the mother for the injuries sustained that night. Maybe Maddie was so far gone that she had Sterns finish it. Why would he set out and plan to get rid of his golden goose? Makes no sense. He knew better than to engage in any neck stuff that would leave marks. The mother had to be involved.

In my opinion, the mother may have profited off of him selling pictures as I believe she knew what was going on. I also think he came back to the house because he was out of money and needed more content. So if they can find any records of her finances showing she received payments matching up to the dates he took those awful pictures, they can nail her to the wall. All speculation, but that is the only way I see them being able to charge her if they can find that evidence.

If it was my kid I'd be trying to murder him or torture him for what he did I would want justice for my child but honestly I think Jenn killed her daughter and stephen just dumped the body and got rid of the evidence cause Jenn was in a rage and strangled Maddie out of anger due to her bipolar and mental issues she has I think it may come out at some point as we get closer to his pretrial

If you listen to Jenn under the assumption that she knew Maddie was dead from the very beginning, then everything she says and does ends up actually making more sense. She displays no desire to search, no urgency, and asks minimal questions of the police about why they think she is de@d. This is all before her body was found remember…

Detective Kevin represented Madeleine better than Jen ever will. She could have pulled over at the school , called her mum and asked if Madeleine was there , she shouldn’t have cared what other parents thought about her holding the line and Infact she should have been screaming at them all to see if they have seen her daughter. She wasted time driving back and forth and the school was right there and she knew Maddy would not have passed by her car without seeing her . She is a liar and this one seems unbelievable too.

I got out of my car, walked halfway down the road & still didn't see him so I ran back to my vehicle & took it down that road bc that was faster than my feet. He went up the hill with his friend & stopped me as I was barreling down that gravel road thank goodness. But you dont leave!!! You don't care how you look, who you are inconveniencing, you find your child! & don't stop searching, inconveniencing, being chaotic until they are found! 😡

I thought the same thing, young ages can be prescribed hydroxide, but I feel like there has to be a real reason why 13-year-old would be taking it. I didn’t get prescribed it until I was in my mid-20s. And a lot of trauma i’m not saying that’s for every case, but she was still young to be on such a strong medication :/ that made her sleep too so disgusting to be taken advantage like that while on meds i pray for this poor girl it makes me sick

The detectives face when she said “the sex stuff was fine”. They were incredible. So patient even though they looked like they were done with her. Even though Detective Kevin said he was being an a**hole, he was actually still very calm and patient. They deserve raises and medals. Everyone who ever had to interview her does.
The detectives did an amazing job during these interrogations. You can tell they want Justice for Madeline.

I watched with you last night. I loved it. You are such a hard worker.
There is something very, very wrong with Jenn and her story. We can all see and feel it. She NEVER questions or acts suspicious of Stephan. In fact, she dedends him even at this point when she knows he murdered her daughter. If it was me, the police would have to hand cuff me to the table because I would be breaking down doors to try and get to Stephan if we were in the same building. It's not normal when the whole country is looking for your child, and she's at home holding her ex boyfriends hand , the same person you know was the last person to see her. She's guilty of something. But this is a very real lesson on how the American judicial and criminal systems work. Unless you have evidence of a crime, you can not be arrested. Even a very small amount of evidence. I wouldn't be surprised if, eventually, she is found to be complicit in Maddie's death, but only if they can find inconsistencies and evidence to incriminate her...
There’s more than enough evidence to arrest her. Right now they could book her for child endangerment and child neglect. The reason they haven’t is because I suspect LE is building a much stronger case involving much serious charges.
Unless SS implicates her and they find evidence, she will get away with this… How will she live with herself after this I wonder… But this is Jen Sotto. She will not even need to drug herself to forget (which she will), she will just disassociate herself from this and move on as a butterfly. Short attention span and no remorse if anything whatsoever.
It scares me the way Maddies’s mother talked about the woods, the lake which has ‘gators’ in it…… how did she ever get custody of Maddie & shame on those who never spoke up. This woman hadn’t an ounce of ability as a mother and SHE KNEW what was going on & allowed it to happen….. Of course they didn’t have a good relationship as I expect Maddie had long standing anger issues with a mother who, selfishly refused to protect her. If you offer the suggestion of a lawyer for someone, after photo evidence of CSA & can not justify why you did so, there was knowledge.
I think about Maddie crying about not wanting to go home, as she knew SS would be there 😢. I think about the reason that JS said Maddie must come home as she wanted to see her ( for 30 mins) before ‘sending’ them upstairs 🤔🤷🏻♀️. Why did SS tell JS that Maddie had been given a double dose? Why did JS mention drugging & strangulation first, as a method that SS used?
Jennifer is upset as it was her birthday the next day and said ‘ it was the worst birthday ever’. Maddie’s 13th birthday was also the worst she ever had. RIP Maddie, I hope you can see that we are all fighting for you 💜💜💜

This totally sounds like a practiced story. The way she is explaining everything, the phrasing... she's being performative. She acts at times like she wants to be seen as totally unaware of everything due to medication and mental health...and other times, she has everything down to the very last detail. When she stumbles and says "I don't know" and changes her story...it definitely sounds like she caught herself making a mistake in her story.

Thanks G for providing us with these interviews. I really want to see Jen charged at a minimum with negligence and endangering Maddie if not more. There is zero excuse for her extremely poor judgement. My heart breaks for Maddie for having to live in a house of horrors. At a minimum Jen is a derelict mother who endangered her child and if it were up to me she would be charged as an accomplice.

I have never seen anything like this, she's a very selfish woman and mother, it's all about herself. She never once said anything nice about Maddie, and she blames everything on her meds, it's like that's all she cares about is her meds. Me, me, me, me, me. I'm so glad the detective went in on her, someone needed to wake this bad mother up.
Nothing nice. She reminds me of my mom. Anything remotely 'kind' is still negative like 'Maddy has mental illness, so she was irresponsible' was probably meant to sound like a real mom but a real mom would be raging going on about her perfect daughter and how can I help the cops. My daughters have had issues in life, but they would have to make me tell them about mental issues.

Notice how she is now saying she didn’t wake up at 8?? She knows that her timing was off so now she is making it seem like she was heavily medicated and can’t remember when Stephen woke her up …. She also has an excuse for the factory reset in his phone and why He was parked around 192 … “flat tire” … and making her daughter appear forgetful … that’s why she left her phone at home ….this lady is trying to cover up his tracks … and to top it off crying for her birthday but not a tear for her daughter … that vile lady didn’t deserve to be a mother … Maddie was too good for her….

Poor Maddie. Surrounded by "adults" yet NOT ONE protected her. Not Mom or grandparents or aunts etc. They knew the sleeping arrangements and did nothing. They knew the unsoundness of Jenn and did nothing.
She is staying with family, that tells me they were OK with Jen sending her daughter to sleep with a predator . They allowed Maddie to be at risk at the hands of those freaks.

Who sends their boyfriend upstairs to sleep with her underage daughter? A blind man could see something would go wrong. I dont care what anyone says, she might not have known about the murder but she knew he was vicitmizing her daughter. He had hundreds of pictures of her and was obssessed with the girl for awhile. Seems to me the mom is doing her best to play dumb because anyone that is really that dumb shouldn't have children in the first place. Whatever happened to her daughter is completely her fault too and it makes no sense she wasnt charged.

Like the detective asked, “what happened that night with Maddie?” Maddie said or did something to set this all in motion. Why would SS get rid of her when he had this SA thing going so good for so many years?! Someone (SS or JS) did something that night to make it different from other nights to end with her being murdered!

It's difficult for a man to hide an affair for years, but it happens, but to also not notice any behaviors by Madeline towards Stephen is very unlikely.

She's been spaced out on pills. I think she knew something wasn't right but she was comfy eating her pills, bossing him around ..she didn't want to sleep with him but she knew where he was sleeping 😉
Jenn likely blamed Maddie and saw her as competition. Jenn was furious about something Sunday night. So bad that she called Stearns over to keep the peace and get the kid in bed before she even got home. If Sterns gave Maddie a benzodiazepine that’s like alcohol in a pill and it’s very disinhibiting. She might’ve stood up for herself. My money is on the mother for the injuries sustained that night. Maybe Maddie was so far gone that she had Sterns finish it. Why would he set out and plan to get rid of his golden goose? Makes no sense. He knew better than to engage in any neck stuff that would leave marks. The mother had to be involved.

The detective made a good point… she’s too drugged up to worry about Maddie being dead , but she’s not drugged enough to think clearly enough to get Stephen a lawyer

Absolutely agree. She’s xanaxed out and low functioning mental health and possibly low iq. Maybe spectrum. Probably a combo of all. I feel bad for her that she has to be a lesson from other mothers out there no matter how much you trust them. She probably shouldn’t have had custody of Maddie but she didn’t know what was going on.

In my opinion, the mother may have profited off of him selling pictures as I believe she knew what was going on. I also think he came back to the house because he was out of money and needed more content. So if they can find any records of her finances showing she received payments matching up to the dates he took those awful pictures, they can nail her to the wall. All speculation, but that is the only way I see them being able to charge her if they can find that evidence.
Yes! They should have an FBI forensic accountant check her bank and tax records.
Sadly I wouldn't be surprised! I think at the very least, she knew about it and was using Maddie as a sacrifice to keep him around smh
