You keep popping up whenever i search for bass tone videos. 🙂
THAT'S the tone i'm after.
Happy to help :) thanks for watching!
Hey Ivan, awesome video! Love those bass pedals. Cool sounds. 😎
Thanks for watching! 🙌🏽
Thanks for the video! Glenn Hughes does NOT get the respect he deserves as a bass player and singer!
Love his playing! Stay tuned. I got something cool coming up :)
Hey Ivan, nice video, great tone. Let me ask you: Are you really enjoying this NUX Mini? I was thinking about buying myself one of these but then I saw that Mooer Radar and I'm now I wanna know if it's better invest some more coins on it. Have you tried this one too?
Hola Lázaro! Btw i speak Spanish in case that is your native language.
I don’t use it much (specially since there are no shows happening at the moment), but it’s cool having an IR loader/cab sim in such a small package. I can load some of the impulse responses that I use while recording and have them in my pedalboard, too.
As an alternative, I’d like to get a Two Notes Cab M, which also sounds great but its more expensive
I haven’t tried the Mooer one.
IHey Ivan! Just wanted to drop you a message to let you know how much I enjoyed your rock bass tone video. Your explanations were clear and easy to follow, and that tone you dialed in was absolutely killer! You've definitely helped me step up my bass game. Keep those awesome videos coming - you're making a real impact in the music community! 🤘🎸
Thanks for the kind words, Paul!
Nice Tone!!!
Gracias, Sergio!
Hey Ivan, So the signal path is bass > YYZ > NUX > DI and then into interface? If so, sounds damn good!
Yeah, if I remember correctly :) probably added some compression to even out the volume in post production for RUclips, but that’s it.
@@IvanBassistthx man!
nice men I really like that sound! I use a darkglass vintage ultra and a dsm omnicab sim ans now I consider getting a yyz. Have you ever tried the vintage ultra? how do you compare it to the yyz?
Both sound great but they’re voiced a bit differently. You can probably get pretty close to this tone with the vintage ultra, though. Use an SVT 8x10 cab sim and try boosting some high mids. The mid control on the YYZ boosts around 2k if I remember correctly
Good broo
Thanks!
Hey Ivan, great video! One question: round or flats? Any comments on string choice for rock tones?
I used rounds in that video. I think rounds are definitely the safest bet to get more overtones and a growly tone, but flats can work just as well. It depends on the brand, of course.
Bright flats like Chromes should definitely do the job
Exc video! 👍🙌
Hmm, I wonder if you'd need the cab sim with Tech 21s dUg signature pedal? I also found it losing bottom. In fact, I'd be curious what Geddy would think of the dUg pedal!
I haven’t tried that one, yet.
I could’ve boosted bass to balance things out a bit, but the cab sim is a great solution when recording direct :)
@@IvanBassist To clarify then, your chain was the YYZ > Nux cab sim > Noble DI > Apollo Twin, correct? It seems like two units too many, as I thought the YYZ had a cab sim and was a DI. Mind, your sound was fabulous! I'm trying to build a mini studio to do my bass tracks at home and then forward the files to an engineer who can then mix and master the band. Any suggestions, please lmk!
Yes, exactly. That was the signal chain.
You could get the new Tech 21 2112 DI. It’s controls are more flexible than the YYZ and it has DI outputs.
You might not need the cab sim due to the added control over frequencies with it
today is monday
It’s already Tuesday over here in Germany ✌🏽
