  • The physical body is capable of anything as long as you put your heart, mind and soul into it. As long as you understand how the human body works and functions, you can mold and change your own! Never let anyone tell you that you don't have the feet, back, legs, or proportions for ballet, you can shape and improve your physical attributes in order to perfect technical and artistic aspects of ballet!

    Another nice one, especially: Most dance teachers […] don’t understand the difference between the instep and the arch (abridged). This is why so many gymnasts, and possibly modern dancers today, have crunched-toe feet (as illustrated).
    And this is because gymnasts (and probably modern dancers) no longer study correct ballet in earnest, which used to be a requirement! An important takeaway is to always stretch and not crunch the toes (as you pointed out), then you can see the changes you put into your work, and it will actually be a better gauge of progress.

    This was extremely helpful and im not even a ballerina (former figure skater). Would you care to do a vid on painful bunions and how to relieve that if you have any idea how to tackle that issue. Thanks🌸💐

    I'm so excited for your next video! Is it real that anyone can achieve hyperectension. I think I have 'under'extension and the problem is that my legs always look like they aren't fully straightened when they already are.

    Please can you do a video on turnout, I'm under the impression that turning out in attitude deviant stretches different muscles than turning out in attitude derrière? :)

    Hey Lara, I really love your channel and I have a question for you
    This is not supposed to sound offensive or anything but I just noticed that you lost quite some weight since your audition video. I was just wondering how you did it since my ballet teachers are asking me to lose weight...do you have any tips or ways to do it? Lots of love and keep up the great work💗💗!!

      L. D. I am a high carb low fat vegan! I eat lots of veggies and fruits and carbohydrates! And i eat very frequent so that i dont eat too much at once! And very low fat so less protein dense foods like tofu, fake meats, nut butters etc. Anything with lots fats is not good its just builds fat!!

      As a vegan I would like to add some advise to Lara's. If you are eating vegan without mock meats and tofu, be aware that these foods are often fortified with some vitamine B12, which is really important, and does not naturally occur in plants, so you would have to supplement that. (No big deal, it's just something to keep in mind) Also, some vitamins are only soluble in fat, so getting some fat is quite important, just make sure it is actually nutritious, so for example some nuts and seeds rather than chocolate. It won't immediately build up fat, don't worry.

      Amber: great points for discussion you have brought forth. So happy to hear from another vegan. There is no worries about built up fat on the muscles as much as bolt up of atherosclerosis and diabetes.As a health care professional and vegan for 7 years - I can attest and urge you to check out high carb and low fat whole food plant based diet. It is not only the current recommendation accepted finally - but the most adequate, one that requires no supplementation of any sorts. All vitamins and minerals water soluble or not can be obtained fully from whole food plant based No need for fake meats with added nutritional value to meet the requirements. Those are in fact to be used sparingly, especially when nuts, avocado is used in small percentage. Please check out dr Campbell, dr Mcdougall, dr Esselstyn web site. We use nutritional yeast and bit B12 HG iron and erythrocytes have never been below the normal ranges.

    What if you're in the middle and your arches are a little above average and your insteps are also average but not bananas?

    Hi I'm 15 and next year I want to try to audition to bolshoi academy, do you have some advices for me? By the way I love you videos and try to try every one of them😜💜

    • @VeganOnPointe
      @VeganOnPointe  7 лет назад +8

      mika levi of course! For your audition video make sure you have the best angle possible to make your extensions look at their highest point and your turn out looking the best it can! While training there: good work ethic, and display of passion is really appreciated! And portraying ballet as an art rather than a sport 😘 and of course take corrections and always remember them! Dont fix it one day and forget the next

    Any recomendations for arch nerve pain? Thanks!

    • @dpara22
      @dpara22 7 лет назад +4

      Theveganflower how do you know it is a nerve and not fascia, muscle, Tendon or ligament? Where is the pain experienced, when, how long, is it constant, how would you describe it in terms of quality, what makes it better or worse? Is it on both feet? Has it been diagnosed? It is very difficult to answer a question like that especially by nonhealth care professional, let alone to provide recommendations. Pain is really a signal of an issue that should be assessed, diagnosed, treat and not all the times is where we experience the pain. Have you seen a doctor, physio? Sometimes chronic muscle tightness used compensatory for altered alignment can lead to pain. Please see an expert.
