This brings back memories of the summer our family gathered at the Bear Lodge Resort and then took a dirt trail to the top of the mountain to scatter my sister's ashes. Sang "I'll Fly Away" while my younger sister played the banjo.
You missed a great breakfast at Bear Lodge Resort! Food is always great there! Sometimes we will ride the bikes to the top from the Cody/Lovell side just to get bacon and eggs there. Enjoy your time here in "Gods Country" Russ! Be safe.
I was taking my dad and daughter to Minnesota for a reunion and out of Los Angeles we headed into Yellowstone then into Cody and over 14A. I remember we stopped at that Observation point and my daughter ran into the grass for a distance and pretended to be Julie Andrews. We noticed we were above the tree line as you can see from across from the pull out. My daughter and I sat next to that creek and ate Oreos together. One of my favorite memories of all time.
My family owns a cabin right across the road about a quarter mile down the direction you headed after stopping by the Bear Lodge. Very wholesome to be able to see something that is over 1,000 miles away. Thank you
I am so grateful I have you , Russ, to show me these magnificent high places. There just isnt any other way I could manage to breathe at these elevations. Thank you for sharing !
Beautiful! We camped for a few days at Sibley last September, almost a year ago and LOVED it. Awesome trails to hike! We are planning on heading out that way again in just a couple weeks! We can’t wait! Thanks for sharing!
I am Sharon from Texas I am glad I found your films on U Tub I have seen from your eyes and travels places I have never seen before I never had the money To go anywhere Thank you Russ
It's great to be following you. I am stuck at home with a car that wouldn't make the journey so this way I can see country I will probably never will. THANK YOU!!!
We just got back from Montana and Wyoming and everything is very dry and Montana has millions and millions of grasshoppers. It was really bad. We will have to follow this highway.
I wish i was there instead of being in the crappy air of the Bay Area today......Thanks Russ.

I was in the Bay Area last year about this time. At at place call Legion Park just south west of Golden gate there is the last mile marker of the Lincoln Highway behind the Bus Stop. The Lincoln Highway was the first transcontinental highway in 1913. The eastern route will take you to Time Square in NY.
It's good to be in the mountains where it is cooler than the valley. It was 93 here in Sheridan yesterday. Took my boys fishing at Sibley plenty when they were small. They each got a Saturday morning with mom and that's where we went and I taught them to fish. Youngest son goes ice fishing there still. That was Arrowhead Lodge that you took the first drive thru in. The motel rooms are new. I didn't even know those were there - that's how long it's been since I was up there. Don't even know if it's still called arrowhead. Years ago, early 1980's when I worked for the Chamber of Commerce in Sheridan, my coworker and I were sent over to Yellowstone to explore so we could tell people about it when they stopped at the Information Center just of I-90 at 5th Street. We took 14A. First time I was ever on that road and at that time it was just a "cow track" basically enough room for 2 cars to pass - barely - and straight drops down into the valley with no guard rails of any kind. I was the passenger and I can tell you it was pretty scary. I took my husband who passed away in October 2019 over there last August. He did not enjoy that drive at all and the road has been dramatically improved for a number of years.
🙋♀️Quite a few picture postcard moments here! The shirt looked good on you Russ. Color just compliments you. A beautiful sky, beautiful scenery, beautiful day for a ride through Big Horn Mountains.👍
Russ - love it! My favorite places of God’s creation are the heavily forested mountains and areas of many lakes - my favorite states and Provinces that I’d like to see more future videos from you are: Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Upstate New York (Adirondacks!) Western PA, Quebec, Ontario, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Upper Peninsula of Michigan, Northern Minnesota and Bemidji / Brainerd Lakes region, Dakotas, Wyoming, Montana, Idaho and just the mountains only in Washington. Would love for you to leave the dessert and get one of those super rugged 4x4 4-season class B+ or class C vans! You could relocate to Southern Wyoming! 👍🤠
Burgess, has a hard g like a j sound. Lake Sibly on the left is stocked and over fished. But fun for the kids. Good family camp spots too. The road to Greybull is a touch easier as the Lovell one gets closed during the winter, too steep. Careful going down it you can burn out your brakes.
Looks nice, hopefully it's cooler than it was at Lake Powell, we made it to 2 more places you shared before going into California, but we're back in Missouri now so, if you get back to the Ozarks, we've got room for you, Dave.
Thank you for showing us the details such as the sign at Burgess intersection. Google Maps blurs out most signage. The information on this one could be important to my travels Also the campground at Sibley Lake (has power) and other campgrounds and sights, good to know about.
Loving the drive right at the beginning. We're in the middle of several CA wildfires just S of SF, so it's really beautiful to see green living trees🥰 Beautiful mtn lake, cool blue waters. With all the camping spots we'll hv to come up this way sometime instead of going across southern WY. Loving the scenery & this entire drive. Can't wait to see what the downhill's like.👍
I live in SD/WY border... love your videos... of sturgis and and the rest... Bighorns need more.!! The Southern Route from Buffalo.. is awesome... Cloud Peak is the main attraction...
14A is a good road because it is only open 7 months a year. Snow load is incredible up here. Almost no trucking. It is almost as quick to drive around through Billings.
Hi Russ....I'm so glad you enjoyed the Big Horns...I'm actually from Greybull...I was a little bummed that you didn't head down that way..perhaps another time..(its so much prettier than the lovell side) but I am curious to hear what you think when you go down the Lovell side it is steep. ..You're going to be driving thru alot farm land now..Sugar Beets, Beans, Feild Corn...
Hope you get to go to the Bear Tooth Pass if you think this pass is awesome, you'er in for a HUGE SURPRISE...... Ooooo poop, cliff hanger, we are laughing our b's off about your comments on the altitude on the mountain, get prepared to jump off the world..... There's a reason all those cars are pulled over.....paper check...haha, Russ, your the man.
No gold in the big horns. Nickel mines. Have to go on paths to find them.
This brings back memories of the summer our family gathered at the Bear Lodge Resort and then took a dirt trail to the top of the mountain to scatter my sister's ashes. Sang "I'll Fly Away" while my younger sister played the banjo.
Clean air, big sky, beautiful terrain, no traffic, it’s postcard perfect 👌 Great job Russ !!
Lake Sibley is gorgeous.
You missed a great breakfast at Bear Lodge Resort! Food is always great there! Sometimes we will ride the bikes to the top from the Cody/Lovell side just to get bacon and eggs there. Enjoy your time here in "Gods Country" Russ! Be safe.
I miss this place. My family and I along with 17k lbs of truck travel there a few years ago and found wonderful people that filled us with hope.
Glad I found this vid, My most favorite area.
thanks Russ.. Watch those down grades..not to mention the sharp curves at the bottom
You've got me hooked on your travels, I wish they'd never end! Until your next post.. stay safe my friend! AWESOME!!
My family owns a cabin right across the road about a quarter mile down the direction you headed after stopping by the Bear Lodge. Very wholesome to be able to see something that is over 1,000 miles away. Thank you

I am Sharon from Texas I am glad I found your films on U Tub I have seen from your eyes and travels places I have never seen before I never had the money
To go anywhere Thank you Russ
Man I am starting to get the “on the road again” itch. Nice video. I can’t go on a road trip right because of my job so this is my therapy.
Beautiful blue skies, pines, .....the whole package.....thanks again for this video tour!
Bighorn is like our Sierra Nevada. I went back to Sturgis Hotel Main street cam last night and witnessed Oasis Bar caught fire.
Beautiful mountain range. Wow.
Amazingly beautiful country, Russ. Thanks for sharing it with us!
Man that's beautiful country! Thanks for the ride Russ! Safe travels Man!
Beautiful Big Horn ants! Beautiful Wyoming!😀❤️🇺🇸🚙
Russ....the name of that area where you found Bear Lodge, is called Burgess Junction with the "g" being soft, not hard. Like Burjess Junction.
Dry and 65...Phoenix? Dry and 115+. Yeah, you don't wanna come back this way anytime soon, Russ! LoL
Hey Russ!!! "VIEWS" very "RELAXING"" !!! Be Safe!!
Beautifully done! Video and conversation is great!
It's great to be following you. I am stuck at home with a car that wouldn't make the journey so this way I can see country I will probably never will. THANK YOU!!!
That's really Purty Country. Thanks Russ 🇺🇸
Goodmorning.,,, Russ,,, slow down , you're going to fast " slow down ,... Look at that big horn , omg , you missed it ,.. Lol ... Be safe
The Big Horns are always pretty, but it looks like a dry year in Wyoming. The grass is usually green and about mid shin in height.
Bear Lodge has an incredible chilli burger
We just got back from Montana and Wyoming and everything is very dry and Montana has millions and millions of grasshoppers. It was really bad. We will have to follow this highway.
This is one great drive, your easy manner helps not to much talk much left to the viewer.
Love your videos! Thanks again for sharing! Safe travels!

Still following with the map. Got Bald Mtn ahead at 10042 feet! Waiting to see that 10% grade!
Beautiful country love your videos
We are waiting for you to get to Cody. Curious to see what you think of the museum if it's open. Yay.

Great video Russ!
Watched on t.v. usually watch on phone
THANKS
I’d offer to drive, but you’re doing fine. Thanks!
If you had stayed on 14, there's a pretty waterfall in that crooked section.
I think 14 down through Schell is the most awesome drive in the Horns.....
And there are those red spires that everyone says look like penises
Lol...Shell.....
9400 feet I would be gasping for air!
Love the videos. Russ, did you say your van does not have A/C?
Hope you get to go to the Bear Tooth Pass if you think this pass is awesome, you'er in for a HUGE SURPRISE...... Ooooo poop, cliff hanger, we are laughing our b's off about your comments on the altitude on the mountain, get prepared to jump off the world..... There's a reason all those cars are pulled over.....paper check...haha, Russ, your the man.
On a clear day you can see Yellowstone from the viewpoint.
Wow beautiful drive. Does you van handle well in the wind? I'm trying to decide on a B or B+ rv 🤔
the sprinter is not the best in high winds
Make a point to get to the Big Horn Conyon
I don't see any beetle kill there! Unlike Colorado.
And Utah
Keith Pickering it was pretty bad a few years ago and so many brown trees but they got it under control and the dead ones have fallen
