Ahh, I drove this in June 2022. Drove right through a blizzard (at the higher altitudes). A blizzard's go, it was't too bad. Snow melted as soon as it hit the road. Other than that, great ride.
I took Wyoming 14A westbound. This road was spectacular. Went up Medicine Mountain. Thanks for your many videos. I have seen most of them. Greg Patton, Cedar Hill, tx
Big Horn canyon is a must see. It's like a mini Grand Canyon. Very scenic. Wild horses and big horn sheep can be seen almost anytime. I hope you make it here. You will enjoy.
One of the best ways into Yellowstone is from Billings, MT...thru the bear tooth mountains...and thru silver gate...takes you right into the Lamar valley.....Stunningly beautiful!
Traveled 14A in 1968 when I was 15 car camping with the family on our first trip out west. For flatlanders, we were awed by the beauty of the Big Horns and this drive especially. And there were no barriers or guardrails that I recall.
Hi Russ, those are sugar bins that store granulated sugar for the sugar factory which still processes sugar beets that are harvested by local farmers every fall. The factory was built by the Great Western Sugar Company in 1916. My father was the chief design engineer for these bins and was the factory manager of the Lovell factory for many years. Many wonderful memories. Thanks for this video! DrC
I just found your videos on U-tube and love them. I like the way you pull out at viewpoints and look at the scenery. My late husband was a "Point A to Point B - X amount of hours in a day" and never wanted to stop and smell the roses. LOL
Just went through there 3 days ago, Camped on top of the bighorn for the night pretty much where this video started. We probably passed you somewhere lol
That was lovely, thank you. Small town USA with flowers hanging on lightpoles and going down from Big Horn Mountains, beautiful drive, but kind of scary at some points.😮❤😊
Yellowtail dam has some beautiful spots to fish for pike. Just be careful going down that hill. I have seen several burned down trailers from brake fires.
WOW, You missed Sibley lake, Arrowhead Lodge, and Bear Lodge. I lived in the area for many years, starting in 1950. That 14 used to be a wide one lane road, going up the mountain. That big rock, at the top, was called Steamboat rock. You video brings back many, many memories.
I felt like a passenger going downhill in awe of the landscape (most of the time I was the driver). Your window camera is perfectly placed. The drone footage at Bighorn Lake was fascinating on a big screen. I watched it as a moving canvas of color and patterns framed by mountains. Wonderful video!
🙋♀️Hello Russ! This was really nice looking over the flatlands. Driving through Lovell was warm feeling seeing all the beautiful hanging baskets. The best Virtual Vacation I've ever been on! 👍
This was a wonderful drive. Boy the scenery was beautiful. Thanks for taking me along on this journey. I am seeing places I may never see. I am very excited to see the next days video. This is a great tour. Thanks for sharing this with me. Stay safe and happy adventuring.
Big Wave Russ....was that road on that mountain run held up by a lego retainer. Oh my goodness, my teeth were rattling on that ride coming down that hill. Boy Russ that land is beautiful. I love the mountains. They are grand. However, when you peak over the edge, it can make your feet zing with Wow feelings of fear. Its a long way down. It's like a roller coaster ride. We have been on mountain passes of 1700 feet, and it is enough to make you teeth rattle for sure. I saw your new star, the little Graham the Gopher. Nice. When we were down in Cody Wyoming, it was a sweet little City. Have a great trip Russ. Keep care of yourself. We are watching. Your Canadian friends, Carolyn and Colin Hogarth from Osoyoos, B.C. We truly miss our friends. Stay safe.
Hi Russ what an awe some mountain pass. Wonder when they started to build it and when was it finished.. Hardship up there in Winter time must have been brutal, must have been some tough hard men who first crossed those mountains and of course lets not forget the ladies..Wyoming sure has it all and most important its still got its sanity.
If you think it was steep coming out of the Big Horn Mountains, wait until you drive up Sylvan Pass from Yellowstone's East Gate on Hwy 14. It's steep and winding with a shear drop off on your left with picturesque Sylvan Lake just past the summit. But it's still a beautiful drive. There are cliffs between Wapiti and the East Gate that are a rich chocolate color next to the Shoshone River winding it's way down the canyon. Amazing! Safe travels Russ!
Wow! I loved that ride. I will definitely have to rewatch a few hundred times. Can you imagine the wagon train days maneuvering up and down the mountains? Has to be breathtaking in winter covered with snow. That was much needed during this time in 2020. Thank you!
God Bless United States of America , Russ , RVerTV Fans. Thank you Russ for 2020 Virtual Vacation Journey. We Love RVerTV - Grand Videos - Grand Music - Grand Journey of Freedom. Happy Trails Russ , RVerTV Fans , Grand Video / Grand Views.
Hey I am 45 min south of Lovell in Basin Wyoming.... hit me up the next time you are here or in Greybull Wyoming and I will take you out to see the dinosaur tracks... no joke its a real thing
Red Gulch Road....I remember my grandpa showing me the dinosaur tracks back in the 70s. when I was 7yrs or so...He told me they were from a Giant Chicken...lol... we spent a lot of summers out there my grandfather was an avid Arrowhead collector
The Wyoming Mountain Road High Way14, like the Idaho 93 Highway, is a trunk road that runs through barren land, but it is a very good road despite the low traffic volume. It's a nostalgic land for those who have traveled a long time ago, such as Earlowston National Park, Tayton National Park and Jackson Hall.
Beautiful drive. Loved seeing the views as we descended into the Valley. Super trip. Loving my virtual 2020 vacation. Thank you Russ. Wishing you a super week. Stay safe. Hugs Susan
Love the videos When you go to Yellowstone go up north of Cody.Go across the mountains to Cook City and go in the Northeast entrance to Yellowstone You wont be Disappointed Cook City is a neat small town( mountain town)
Bill Varnet, in 2018 i was going from cody to great falls and went thru cooke city, you has a different experience than i did there, was going to get gas while wife used or should i say tried to use the bathroom she was told to go down the road and find a bathroom at the chamber of commerce the gas station one wasnt for public use so i stopped filling the tank, stopped at another place to buy some tourist stuff and a guy behind us asked about staying in winter and we got brushed aside so they could talk to him so we set our stuff on the counter and put that place in our rear view mirror and never looked back and will never go back there.
"Buffalo Bill Center of the West" Cody, WY... a MUST SEE! "Beartooth Highway" US Hwy 212 SW from Red Lodge, MT into Yellowstone...A MUST SEE!!!! "America's most scenic highway." Charles Kuralt. Please do not miss these!! I can't believe you drove right by "Medicine Wheel NHS" on Hwy 14A. Oh well...next time !
I’ve been up and down that road lots times in a car and pick up. You’d be crazy to drive down it while pulling anything! We go on other roads that are less steep. It is not a road to mess around with.
If you like that red that was in the mountains. You should see the other side of the mountain (the Greybull side.) Oh my gosh driving into Shell Valley absolutely stunning...
What fascinated me about the Big Horn Mountains are the rock formations. I'd love to have been with you Russ. You would have got tired of me real quick because I would have wanted to you pull over at a lot of those road cuttings so I could hammer off some rock samples.
Hey Russ, great video! Wow! One thing that strikes me about the last few videos you've posted is how wide open and sparsely populated the West still is. Anyway great video. Thanks for the cool virtual vacation trip! Take Care! 👍😃
You didn't mention it, but at the very beginning of the video, before you said "brake check area" there were several signs pointing to the right. This is the road to the parking area and the 1.3 mile hiking trail up to the Medicine Wheel, a very sacred Native American ceremonial site. I'm following this closely because I hope to be in the Tetons in two or three weeks and would like to return thru Cody and back this way, basically the reverse of what you are doing now.
S P E C T A C U L A R ! ! ! Thank you, thank you, thank you! Russ, you do not disappoint! The ride coming down off the Big Horn was stunning. And you are just so nonchalant about it all. :) That's what I love about you. This trek is now in my top 5 must dos. One of God's most majestic creations.
I can't believe how blue the sky is.
The big white silos are for the sugar beet factory where sugar is produced.
Ahh, I drove this in June 2022. Drove right through a blizzard (at the higher altitudes). A blizzard's go, it was't too bad. Snow melted as soon as it hit the road. Other than that, great ride.
Heading north through Wyo and stopping in Lovell. Noticed the price of diesel at $2.36 at the Sinclaire. Almost exactly two years ago!
Love the big horns. I live in lovell Wyoming about 40 miles from the big horns and I’m more than glad to call this place home!
I took Wyoming 14A westbound. This road was spectacular. Went up Medicine Mountain. Thanks for your many videos. I have seen most of them. Greg Patton, Cedar Hill, tx
Grew up in Lovell. Left after graduation in August 71. Spent lots of time in the Bighorns.
The grain bins at the end of Lovell was the sugar factory.... White , brown and confectioner sugar...
Wyoming is awesome
Big Horn canyon is a must see. It's like a mini Grand Canyon. Very scenic. Wild horses and big horn sheep can be seen almost anytime. I hope you make it here. You will enjoy.
Big hello from London UK, your videos are getting us through lockdown!
One of the best ways into Yellowstone is from Billings, MT...thru the bear tooth mountains...and thru silver gate...takes you right into the Lamar valley.....Stunningly beautiful!
Went that way on Sunday it was fantastic
That's my plan this summer
My husband and I love, love, love your videos. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for the video. I just had a cousin move to Deaver, which is near Lovell, so it is nice to see where she is now.
Traveled 14A in 1968 when I was 15 car camping with the family on our first trip out west. For flatlanders, we were awed by the beauty of the Big Horns and this drive especially. And there were no barriers or guardrails that I recall.
Those grain silos my have been sugar silos Grow a lot of sugar beets in that area, or used to
That's Exactly what they're for...
Hi Russ, those are sugar bins that store granulated sugar for the sugar factory which still processes sugar beets that are harvested by local farmers every fall. Lovell is home to Western Sugar Co
The American landscape is incredible.
I just found your videos on U-tube and love them. I like the way you pull out at viewpoints and look at the scenery. My late husband was a "Point A to Point B - X amount of hours in a day" and never wanted to stop and smell the roses. LOL
This road, blue sky, green pines, what a trip !!
WOW, Russ says" I can smell the trailer brakes". For a sec, so did I. 👍
Just went through there 3 days ago, Camped on top of the bighorn for the night pretty much where this video started. We probably passed you somewhere lol
It's not a grain silo, it's for suger. Major crop is sugar beats, it's part of the sugar factory.. I grew up in Lovell....
Great videos showcasing Wyoming! I want to move my family from Canada to Wyoming.
Big Horn was beyond awesome! Really looking forward to Yellowstone. Yippee. 🤗 Thank you.
Gods country!! Nice work Russ!
Just awesome.... i could never get enough of that view coming down. Thanks for the ride Russ. AAA+
That was lovely, thank you. Small town USA with flowers hanging on lightpoles and going down from Big Horn Mountains, beautiful drive, but kind of scary at some points.😮❤😊

On the North end of that lake is Yellotale Dam. In Montana.
I was a FedEx delivery driver being based in Cody.
Bro, I love Cody. All you can eat prime rib at Irma hotel is the best, worth the drive from CA. Never miss it when visit Yellowstone.
WOW - hoping to be on 14 in maybe 10/12 days - will be like you Russ, van only, no frills. Jay
There was an excellent view at Medicine Wheel. I hope to get out there this year before the snows.
We pushed our mountain bikes up to the top of medicine wheel and rode down one year. What a blast.
Bighorn National Recreation area on Yellowtail Reservoir on the Big Horn River.

The Hyart theater hosted Bob Hope when it opened in the 1930's
Love this old Theater...
That lake is SO unusual! And the town of Lovell is very nice!
I grew up in Ten Sleep.

Smell is from the sugar beet processing plant. Not Grain silos, sugar.
Big Horn lake has been very low for quite some time.
Thank you Russ.
Must say in my opinion the west side of the Bighorns are more scenic. All of Wyoming is beautiful, but truth is I'm bias since I love Wyoming.
Me too....💜💜💜💜WYOMING
Very nice!
Noticed the lack of traffic we love our peaceful state
What fascinated me about the Big Horn Mountains are the rock formations. I'd love to have been with you Russ. You would have got tired of me real quick because I would have wanted to you pull over at a lot of those road cuttings so I could hammer off some rock samples.
At the base of the mountains over in Shell Valley. There is the Dr Carl Vondra geology field camp. For Iowa State.
