Is Logitech setting a new standard for web cams? I test out the brand new MX Brio webcam from Logitech! I'll break down the hardware, the specs and give you a test of the actual video so you can see it side by side with the previous Logitech Brio 4k. Thanks for a no-BS review. Straight to the point. This seems like it'll be the new standard for streamers or RUclipsrs between entry and pro levels.
I just got mine ... I like it a lot. I use this for Zoom and other Web meetings. This one does the job and looks great. If I want really high quality, I use my RODEX StreamerX and my Sony camera ... But since most people cannot see above 1080k this is perfect. It is also easy to address the field of view vs. manually moving my Sony camera which I need to do from time to time.

Can i mount this next to my lightbar? Not directly above but to the side of the bar and use the view mode?
What software do you use to record? I've noticed that several programs really seem to degrade the video from a good camera and make it like a blurry zoom call which is disappointing.

In your video demo were you using the built in mics? Any comments on the performance of the mics?
I actually mic'd that demo since I was trying to focus on audio quality. Audio quality is good but seems to be on par with other high quality webcams. Nothing amazing necessary but def good enough

Which camera you are using for recording this video?
You mean the part where I am talking? Believe it or not I'm using a Nikon d5100 slr. Over 10 years old!! I think it works pretty well considering the age.
This is the best review thus far, I don't know what the other reviewers are doing but they are making this upgrade look like a downgrade and from what I've seen in a few reviews is that it has better sound and picture than the older Brio 4K
I feel like a lot of reviewers go out of their way to be negative. I don't get it. That's just not me. I love tech and I'll call it like I see it. More importantly I think the real side by side demo speaks for itself. If you think the Brio 4k is a better camera than the new MX Brio you probably need to see an eye doctor. 😲

Nice webcam, the only downside is super wide angle. Why would someone need that? Very impractical, most of the 4K resolution will be lost after crop & zoom.
That's an interesting take, I think most people want the wide angle because their monitor is pretty close to where they are sitting. When testing it seemed pretty comfortable to me. Did zero cropping or zooming in my test portion of the video.
how is this camera compared to a dslr? does dslr still look better etc?
Yes, DSLR still looks much better. It's just a totally different type of "look" IMHO. Also, this camera is very wide and any option to change is only cropping a wide angle. I don't think it can replace a DSLR.

I have links to my gear in my description. I have pretty old gear. I use a Nikon d5100 as my main cam and Panasonic dc-fz80 for my "white box" broll. I think it all looks pretty good but I hope to get a new 4k Sony cam soon!! 📸

@@TechItBeforeYouWreckIt Throughout the entire video. You're facing the viewers speaking while the area behind you is semi-blurred. How did you apply that affect, because it's so well done?
@LEWfromdaHOU yeah, my shot with my main camera for the intro. It's not an effect as much as it's actual optics. I've found the "effects" in webcam and smartphone software never look right. I'm using a DSLR (Nikon d5100) with a fixed 35mm lens. Open up the iris a bit and you get the perfectly soft background. That help?
@@TechItBeforeYouWreckIt Oh so it's a technique with your camera. I'm used to it being referred to as effects that you do in post software. I didn't know particular cameras did that. Thanks for answering my question!

I wish these webcams had the shallow depth of field of my DSLR. I'm using an old Canon DSLR as my webcam.
Agree 100%. That would be nice. The simulated depth of field just doesn't cut it.
