  • This video goes over capabilities that we've developed from the real martian and implemented into the Eden Grow Tower. This Aeroponic/Aquaponic system is the first of its kind and will allow individuals, families, and communities to grow their own food, no matter where they are at.

I love this idea, but the numbers are looking pretty problematic at the moment. The startup cost is around $4000 for one unit and a double decker unit is specified to use .54KWh. That's nearly 15 KWh a day in energy usage for a single 2-shelf rack! The average American home uses 30KWh total. At the average electrical rate $0.13 per KWh for the country, that's roughly $60 a month in additional energy expenses. If off grid that's at least an 3x 300-watt solar panels to provision for each rack and battery storage. I've been wanting to set something like this up for a while now, but I have a hard time justifying the energy and startup cost expenditure.

Scissor tail farms in Oklahoma. The main thing is cost effective. The Biggest obstacle is the costs up front for small farms, grant opportunities, etc education and training. So My Question is is this a colonizing mars only plan or a small and large scale operation. I also have a question regarding the shift from Aquaponics to aeroponics where you also produced a protein source?

Also, the protein content is not very high for most crops you can grow in these things. Need some algae production for protein supplement and higher efficiency, but algae doesn’t taste very good.
