Its not +10 to all stats, but rather +2 to all stats. Each merge is treated as if though they were dragonflowers. The stat bonuses are also added in the same manner as dragonflowers too. If it were +10 to all stats that would make it more broken than normal merging lol
Exactly this. They only say ATK/SPD/DEF/RES in the description for some reason, but you also get a boost to HP. So overall each merge is +1 to one of those stats. Thankfully. +10 to all stats would be disgusting, but they did word it confusingly.
the potent 4 description actually means if the speed check for a follow up was REDUCED meaning instead of needing 5 more speed, you could have 20 less speed than the foe to trigger the extra attack

Yeah, I had it wrong initially. It's worded really poorly, and they probably should've used another integer in a formula to make it easier to understand. I guess that's what you get when you read heiroglyphics late at night while sleep deprived.
It helps some of the older units with spd tiers in the middle of the road, but seems way overtuned. This skill seems to work in both phases, so it makes units like Lucia who can bait and be offensive really strong. Marth's weapon gives him a dive bomb effect that makes it seem like he can follow up before enemies can even in the enemy phase, so he might work well with vantage if we get it as a buff or seal. Really glad it can be used on Beasts, because god damn they needed something. Unfortunately you can't circumvent the transformation restriction since it's a B slot skill.
Someone already mentioned this, but Potent does not say you need 25 more speed. It says that the stronghold to trigger Potent Follow % needs to be within 20 points of the foe's speed.
This means that not only does this give fast units a potential 3rd follow up, but it can also give slow units a follow up that bypasses NFU
This skill is made even better by giving out it's DR for free. It might be 20% less that Close Call 4 type skills, but it ALWAYS reduces 30%, and is way more consistent against speed powercreep.

Ok I know I'm dumb but how does this skill interact with diamant's weapon? Do they cancel each other 25 spd thing out?
I have no clue lol, I would imagine the speed check on Portent is a separate check from his weapon, but I could be wrong

With the way the skill is worded I’d guess it would make Diamant’s speed check even harder for the foe, since it specifically says “the speed required to make a follow up”, not specifying or excluding Fair-fight blade. It would still be a bad skill on him since he wouldn’t make use of the DR and he’s unlikely to outspeed any fast unit even with both skills active.
so if i have 3 copies of emblem Marth can i equip them to 3 diff units?
No. It's one ring for the entire barrack, but it cost nothing to pass him around
Emblem Roy/Ike adding unpierceable DR to all specials, Emblem Sigurd adding holy knight aura effect for all specials, Emblem Byleth adding Requiem Dance/Light is Time to all specials…the possibilities are endless and it’s gonna get nasty, I can feel it.
I’m scared of how this year’s power creep will go, we might be shifting into 6th gear real quick

Honestly surprised beast get potent let alone cav and fliers, besides selkie I need to now think of other units to use this
Potent blows beast sense out of the water. It has less DR, but getting another attack and getting more consistent DR is WAY better than free transforming + Close Call
Potent 4 makes me want to whale on a Tsubasa build. The fact that melee cavs and fliers can combine it with Flared Sparrow...yikes.
Stinks that dragons got shafted again, though. It's like somebody at I.S. never forgave Brave Corrin for giving us Counter Roar.
Thanks for the Rally Luck, I'll need it. I'm salivating over Marth and Lumera, but I have only 50 orbs and I WAS going to start saving to merge up my bride and summer Tikis.... As if the fodder we already have wasn't tempting enough (Spd/Res Far Trace 4, Beast N Trace, Pulse Up Blades...).
To be honest, I don't read the skills anymore. I just assume everything is dangerous and will kill, so I play cautiously.
