Bernie I hope she’s a red a bow with the ‘Inexhaustible’ bow you get from the leonie linhardt paralogue, seeing as she has alts of the other colours already. Felix I want to be like rodrigue, a holy knight, probably blue tome. And Alfonse I want to take inspiration from Hel, make him an Axe flier and say that instead of becoming like Lif, he was able to defeat Hel and steal her power or something.
Male byleth and hilda gatekeeping engage units next year, take notes xD. Also, I think twitter just covered the post with the results from fe5 to 11 (i forget which number is awakening)

Alfonse finally winning after all these years really shows how he's coming up as a FE character. Nobody even remembers the twins from the first Warriors game, so to see Alfonse win CYL warms my heart. Also happy to see F!Robin win, and while I'm meh on Bernadetta and Felix, at least it wasn't Engage. Just a personal opinion, but I'm not ready to see any Engage units in CYL. Unless it's Zelkov.
I’m definitely part of this problem, but I think what happened is that people assumed “yeah Engage will probably win, so I’ll just throw my votes at other characters” I am personally ok with the results, it is a popularity poll at the end of the day. Not a huge Bernie fan, but I respect her fanbase for coming together and getting her redemption. Cool to see for them!
Sharena was robbed, and I hate the fact that Nel failed to make any showing. I want more TMS, but Brave Heroes aren't what we need so much as a full banner. Touma, Yashiro, Maiko, and Mirage Tiki. Either Barry or a villain can be the free unit. There you go.

If I have to guess, Sharena has the biggest chances of winning next year now that alfonse did it, and yeah I'm with you on this Tacho: Alfonse is the only of the winners I'm happy about.
I think the vote shows the Engage characters weren't as impactful to people -- story or lore wise. I personally found all of them boring one-note trope characters. Yunaka was the only one to me that was interesting. I like the designs of a lot of the Engage characters, but that's about it. I don't see them making it to CYL9, but maybe. With the new mechanic, I think Engage was made for Heroes specifically, so I'm not as big a fan of the game as I was when it came out.
You missed a few of the rankings by title I believe. At the very least, Blazing Blade. Surprisingly, that one had Sonia in first, then 2. Nino, 3. Ninian, 4. Athos, and 5 Loyd. (Also Radiant Dawn, Path of Radiance and Awakening seem to be missing)

I mean I remember seeing one comment in a bunch of feh videos saying they were asking people to band together to vote for alfonse. Was only one guy, but they did it for a month or two. Also I think most people can actually get behind a brave alfonse, as he’s not hated, he doesn’t have many alts, and it’s not a typical lord. Just my guess.
In CYL1 Fates as the recent game didn't get a winning spot either. The votes were spread out amongst the cast and littered top 20 results in the same way Engage did this year. I'm not so hot on this cyl but most of the popular female characters i like have already won so i don't really pay attention to the female side because no one i actually like will win (even the leading 2 engage girls I don't care as much about compared to other engage girls). There are still lots of popular male characters i like on that side, like 70% of the top 20 males. Basically the only one i care about this year is Alfonse.
Alfonse's win seems like a combination of him being a bad ass last chapter plus egging IS to use his JP VA again. I hope Alfonse voters jump over to Sharena next year and she finally gets the recognition she deserves!

ever since CYL5 when Gatekeeper won I have not had the best experience with CYL. i was really hoping Diamant would win, and I was shocked that he came 5th for the mens division. regardless, seeing MByleth in 3rd does give me hope that he may win next year!

So so so so so happy about all the winners this year (except Female Robin, but that's more because I just don't really care for her all that much). I think the reason why Engage flopped this year was because all the Engage voters were too split between multiple characters, whereas Bernie fans were all united together.

The way you feel about Three Houses characters is exactly how I feel about Alphonse and Sharena. I just don't get it. They are the most milquetoast, generic characters in the game. But hey, to each their own.

I know I'm in the minority here, but I don't know what annoys me more: the fact that folk laughed at Engage getting blocked in this, or that Three Houses/Hopes keeps getting all of this favoritism. Seriously, they have the most characters and alts, on top of the fact that a bunch of these guys already have the most CYL alts out of every other game in the series. Before you start, yes, I'm aware it's the best selling game in the series, and played it, too. The only difference, unlike the majority of folks, is that I moved on from it. I'm not fixated on 3H all the time. They need to reel it in to let other picks have a shot. The only real surprise to me was Alphonse; he earned this, and I wouldn't be too surprised if Sharena is next.
It needed a LOT of work. Definitely didn't deserve a CYL spot, especially when no one had the good taste to vote Zelkov into the top 5 for Engage characters.

Well at least Takumi still ended up in the top 20 so my votes weren't entirely wasted. Next year I'll come back stronger! Or I might try putting odds on Alcryst next time since he did pretty good this year. I'm so proud of him. :3
Diamant and Sigurd winning next year would be cool too but of course, a lot of things can happen between then and now. ^^
Anyway, I guess when the Brave Units come, I'll just take my free Alfonse and probably leave it at that. Depending on how they handle Felix I might throw some orbs for him too but I won't be too fussed.
F for Sharena though, it would have been so fitting if she won along with her brother. :(

ever since CYL5 when Gatekeeper won I have not had the best experience with CYL. i was really hoping Diamant would win, and I was shocked that he came 5th for the mens division. regardless, seeing MByleth in 3rd does give me hope that he may win next year!

So so so so so happy about all the winners this year (except Female Robin, but that's more because I just don't really care for her all that much). I think the reason why Engage flopped this year was because all the Engage voters were too split between multiple characters, whereas Bernie fans were all united together.
Yeah I agree if they focus on 2 characters from both list they could have a chance at winning just look at the votes on Yunaka and Ivy almost close to enter 2 place if they are combine

Anyways really happy for Alfonse he honestly deserves it he's story development is really impressive! :) and really glad for Bernie too she deserves it aswell and she's a good character and I like her not that much but she's a good character so I'm excited for both!

The way you feel about Three Houses characters is exactly how I feel about Alphonse and Sharena. I just don't get it. They are the most milquetoast, generic characters in the game. But hey, to each their own.
They were at first, but as the books progressed, they had a lot of character development

Usually Takumi and Leo can be seen in top 20 or you'll se Xander and maybe Ryoma. For me I don't care for Engage. I still haven't finished it.
Im happy that alfonse won, and female robin, but a little upset that three houses is still a thing in cyl, even after dimitri,edelgard,and claude one cyl once already, the three house bias is real..

I know I'm in the minority here, but I don't know what annoys me more: the fact that folk laughed at Engage getting blocked in this, or that Three Houses/Hopes keeps getting all of this favoritism. Seriously, they have the most characters and alts, on top of the fact that a bunch of these guys already have the most CYL alts out of every other game in the series.
Before you start, yes, I'm aware it's the best selling game in the series, and played it, too. The only difference, unlike the majority of folks, is that I moved on from it. I'm not fixated on 3H all the time. They need to reel it in to let other picks have a shot.
The only real surprise to me was Alphonse; he earned this, and I wouldn't be too surprised if Sharena is next.
Those other picks have already being pick as winners in other years also if this was Engage sweep would you be saying the same ?

It is clear the Weeb part of Fire Emblem fans is OK with gimmicky cliche characters all the time instead of characters who actually act like real people.
