This Senton definitely looks great. It seems to be more interesting than the Fury, although a bit more expensive, it should be the better option for me personally. I'm excited to this Senton run.
I really liked how most previous arrma 2in1 esc and receiver combos that I had, had an external receiver port. So I could add my own receiver without having to replace the esc immediately. @@DoRC I know the Gorgons 2in1 has an external receiver port. Also the senton boost 4x2 had one. I am sure more did, but those are the brushed ones I messed with.
Besides the added center diff, clip-less body, etc., the 80 amp 2 -in1 esc seems to be the trade off for getting a gyro equipped model for essentially the same price as the v3. However, it appears they placed the esc on a receiver box (empty) in the event you add your own.
@@DoRCI don’t think 6s sell as well as the Groms or less costly models. I called my LHS a month ago trying to get two Mojave Groms for my kids and they were sold out and had a waiting list of 35+ people on it for the next shipment arriving. I’m sure Arrma has data on what sells better.
The problem with this new power system is not necessarily it being a 2 in one esc but with it being in a car this big, especially if the esc fails then you have to get a esc and a receiver, not to mention that they already had more than adequate electronics that they could’ve taken from the vortex’s , body is nice though ignoring the loose latch

Awesome truck and great video, I have thought of getting one of these to replace my Slash 4x4 Ultimate if it does well enough when i buy mine the only thing that is worrying to me is the 2 in 1 ESC but it looks like they retained the older receiver box. But the center differential is a huge upgrade to this platform and is the main reason i will get this truck to replace my old Slash 4x4 as well as the quick release body system.

Still not a fan on body clip systems as they all seem to come off when bashing. Obviously if arrma has managed to make one that remains attached it's a good thing. I would have expected to see them already as I thought we would at least see something pretty quickly after the V2 EXB came out but nothing so far so it's anybody's guess at this point.
I was about the pull the trigger on the rwd vorteks and fury, but kept thinking they would release a brushless one soon. Im excited to think about the vorteks and granite, and even an updated gorgon with a tough body so might wait till we see whatelse they give us in 3s.
Yeah rear wheel drive will definitely be less maintenance in the long run just cuz there's less to it but the four-wheel drives are also pretty reliable So I wouldn't necessarily make my decision based on that
@DoRC Arrma sure isn't making it easy with so many amazing options. I had been eyeing a mt10 because it already has a center diff and is tough but I'm kind of excited to see what they do with the rest of the 3s line.

It all looks great except for the esc reviver combo, from past experiences the reviver being exposed to all of that heat makes them a lot more unreliable, I just wonder if it is to try to keep you on the spectrum platform or to counter the sealed receiver box patented.
@@IsaacSchultz-lz8jc I think it's more likely the other way around. They probably wanted the two-in-one and had to find a different manufacturer to do it. Who knows though. They could still be hobbywing ESCs but they really don't look like it
I don’t mind the idea of a 2n1 Esc / receiver but the big let down for me (correct me if I’m wrong) is the lack of DSMR support. I run Spektrum radios. I like having all of my cars on one radio. With any of these new arrmas I’ll have to immediately buy a new Esc and receiver should I decide to run my Dx5.
As far as I know the SLT and DSMR systems or not compatible. I know there was one SLT receiver that could be switched to DSMR but I don't believe these have that capability
Keeping my vortex’s 3s not gonna go to the 223s for a worse power system due to the 2 in one esc and receiver. I would just personally recommend getting a center diff kit online off of AliExpress for only 40$
I think it's really only worse if you want to upgrade one or the other. My guess is that most people who buy these things never end up upgrading the electronics so for them it won't matter
Yeah they're wording can be a little misleading. They did update the pinion gear to steal but the ring gear appears as though it's still going to be plastic.
Finally, a clipless body. Hopefully, it will be better sealed against dirt ingress. My god, is the Senton a dirt bucket after drifting anywhere not perfectly sterile.
I keep having trouble with my slipper in my Typhon 3S, that stupid nylon slipper nut strips out and you gradually lose power while driving until it’s dead. Then you have to disassemble the whole darn thing to get there. If they re-release the Typhon with a center diff, which it really seems likely, I’m grabbing a center diff and dropping it into my V3. At this point my Typhon 3S has 4S diffs and slipper (from the 4SV2 line). Might as well just buy a darn 6S next time, tired of spending money slowly upgrading things.
@@RcPlayer-tt2vw I'm not sure what you're referring to - are you saying to replace the nylon piece with a nut and wrench it down to essentially turn it into a spool? Also not sure what video to look for.. if you have any more information I would appreciate it 👍
Yea i like the clipless system but have to agree I prefer the more squared look of the first senton body not sure what version that is but its by far my favorite
Aesthetics is a very personal thing of course, but to me this new senton is proper fugly, sort of cartoonish. Will probably still sell in decent numbers though, and I seem to be in the minority not liking it anyway 😂
Yeah I bet that most people who buy these cars never touch the electronics so for most of their demographic it won't matter but for us enthusiastic would be nice for them to be separate
@GeorgieBud2020 I don't actually have this car. It's just a news video. Based on the pictures though I don't think it's much different and I have had a couple of rocks get jammed up over the years on this platform but I think whether or not you have that problem is largely dependent on the size of rocks in your bashing areas and I guess where I live rocks just aren't that size so it doesn't happen very often.
@@DoRC thank you. Appreciate the info. I live in the desert, rocks of all sizes. How would I contact the engineers who designed the Senton? If that's even possible.
@@GeorgieBud2020 No Chance. They have a bit more protection against rocks and so on. But the problem will be nearly the same. Arrma 3s is not for little rock areas.
It's entirely possible but it just doesn't feel like one. It's hard to put my finger on it but everything feels just a little bit different than hobbywing does things.
Hard no on the 2n1. Don’t like needing to replace the esc if you change radios to a non Spectrum set up. I’m sure that’s how they intend to keep more sales on Spectrum radios. Unless there’s a way to bind other radios such as Futaba and I am missing something. Otherwise I love it! That probably wouldn’t stop me from buying it. I’ve been a Traxxas fanboy a long time… but when I see what you get per dollar spent from a lot of Arrma’s lineup compared to Traxxas, yeah I’m starting to look at the Arrma site more often than not as I dream of my next 3s purchase. If I were to get a 4wd or 2wd SCT right now it would be an Arrma and I really REALLY love my Slashes. 🤷♂️
Not sure if I want this one or that typhon coming out sometime I am just going to start saving an Wait till the vortex an typhon get released before I decide which one I want I can only get one so gotta wait till I see the other two
The 2-in-1s seem fine in Groms but it’s a dealbreaker for me with the 3s line. Pushes me toward buying a roller on eBay or upgrading my current 3s via JennysRC.
@ that’s an off choice. Back when they were CNC, the teeth were like half the length on the metal vs plastic. Maybe they’re updated or maybe arrma just don’t care about having 50% tooth engagement
Okay nope don't work in the RC industry, but I like to bash, at a good price. , I don't remember if there's oil in the diffs. In my opinion there should be, and also if you don't upgrade cool, that esc combo will work with the gyro but what about us tinker's? I myself never seen a use for a gyro on a basher but hey these things do get turned into something else just for the fun of It, that might make use of a gyro. Say speed runs in damp conditions.
Hard to know for sure. I will say that most people probably don't ever put an aftermarket body on their cars so it's likely not a major consideration for them
Man, I dont mind the 2 in 1 on the Groms, even the Fury since its meant to be an entry point to the hobby, but its starting look like its going to be on everything going forward, and Im not a fan of that. If I want to use the same remote I use for everything else I need to replace the ESC on anything I might buy? No thanks. If they do the same thing with the 4s/6s line when it gets revised I probably won't be buying any new Arrmas outside of the Groms.
@billyjones589 gotcha. I'm not terribly surprised. These cars are specifically designed as bashers and there are probably a lot of cars that would beat them on a track.
Maybe. I suspect the vast majority of people who buy these things don't ever upgrade them So as long as they work out of the box it's probably okay for the target demographic
Arrma is just awesome but i dont like the 2 in 1 esc it's ok for the groms but not for bigger cars because i like upgrading all my cars. Also i don't think you can program the 2 in 1 esc and that sucks.
3:09, Nope, they´re putting metal ring gear differentials in there as seen on their website. And I´m glad they do because these plastic ring gears keep stripping out on all my 3s cars. :-)
Old trick, nothing new. Now the big plastik gear will strip first and you have more work to change that. But its ok. I have done the metal input gear "upgrade" myself .
@@DoRC This is not misleading, this is lying. Okay, they talk about "metal gear differentials", which would be true for the internals and input gear, but showing a full metal ring gear differential and calling it a "super tough transmission" is simply lying. Of course Arrma will have some sort of disclaimer put somewhere, where pictures shown can differ from actual. But no, I spent lots of money upgrading my differentials already, I´m not buying this one. I was holding of on getting the Mojave 4s, to see what Arrma would do with their 3s line, but now the Mojave it is. 🙂 Thanks though for the video!
@@DoRC No Center Diff looks completly different. They messed up the picture or something else. They have a picture and text with their metal diffs on it (same diff as arrma boost diff or arrma 4s v2)

I hate the 2 in 1. It’s fine in the groms but I think it’s a little ridiculous in the larger rigs. Now instead of buying a Futaba receiver for it I have to change the esc as well. And at the point I might as well change the motor out too. And now it just became a money pit
Yeah and for those of us that use our own transmitters it is kind of a pain. I suspect that Horizon has investigated this and found that the vast majority of their target demographic for these vehicles don't ever mess with the electronics so from there standpoint it's probably just not a problem.
@ i suppose you’re right on that. For me I’m just so used to immediately taking out the stock receiver and using my futaba on any vehicle I have that I forget that the vast majority might not do that
@AMM0394 same here. The second I saw the two in one I had the same thought you did but especially with these cheaper cars we are probably in the minority. If we weren't I doubt they would have done it.
I’d like to just say🤦♂️ I’m sure the world has been waiting for a v4 of these trucks as the v3 was so good but from looking at this it’s quite disappointing, yes it’s got a centre diff which may help with handling on the senton and typhon, pointless on a big rock or granite. The most ridiculous thing on this truck is the electronics, an esc receiver combo… really! Arrma actually going backwards! Bet it’s not cheap either
I actually think the center differential is most important on the bigger heavier trucks with bigger tires. It's not really so much a tuning feature but a drivetrain protection feature
@@DoRC so what you’re saying is the center diff is pointless as well? I totally agree! What they should have done is do all metal drive train and made it a 3s EXB , maybe put a bash bar on? That’s more exiting
@@se-rc-uk no I definitely wouldn't say that. I think the center differential is one of the most important features on any basher. It allows decoupling of the front and rear drivetrain which really takes a lot of stress off of drivetrain components while bashing. I just think it's the most important on bigger heavier vehicles
@ it eliminates the ability to use so many bodies that have been in production. Now you’re stuck only buying from armma which will mean $$$. Traxxas did the same thing.
@@ItBetterBeFast soon everybody will have clippless. its 2024. traxxas does it, now arrma. i dont like it, but its ok. The Gorgon one is terrible. The Fury one is a bit terrible. The new Senton one could be ok to use.
I think it depends. My guess is that the vast majority of people who buy these cars never touch the electronics so from that point of view it's probably fine
Alright it is a new approach with the 2 in one receiver/esc and I suppose that it would make the overall price more budget friendly, but why did they had to go with a cover that is similar to the FURY ? I mean that was the beauty and the cover of the MOJAVE was the beast ? Messier DO RC it is ugly !!!!! I mean really ugly. But it might turn out to be a great rc rig after all. Great but ugly.
The ESC sucks. The privios one is a 100A ESC. Now they pu a 80A one in it. And you don’t have the option to change the fan to a more powerful one. Seems like Arrma is going the same way like Traxxas. They don’t wan‘t that you live the Arrma world and you have to spend your money on their products.
I'd recommend giving it a try before being too upset about it. The same basic form factor is in the fury brushless and I really like it. I had no problems with the fan breaking and I think overall it's a decent setup. I do agree that the two and one thing is a bit of a bummer though
@@DoRC i hate them after a few years. After 200 packs with many of these cars i have changed way to many stripped gears. Its not too bad, but it is the Nr.1 weak spot in these cars.
Maybe though to be fair I'm guessing the vast majority of people who buy these cars never replace the electronics. My opinion is kind of biased because I'm always replacing electronics but I get the feeling if this was going to be a problem for a lot of people Horizon wouldn't have done it.

Will the v3 body fit without modifications
I'm not sure but if I had to guess I'd say if you get the body mounts it'll fit.
Hopefully we get a v4 vorteks
I'd imagine they'll update the whole line at some point
6s senton needs to come back
That would be sweet
They should bring back the 6S senton !
That would be awesome!
Hey the arrma site says this is getting metal Front and rear diff
Yeah they're wording can be a little misleading. They did update the pinion gear to steal but the ring gear appears as though it's still going to be plastic.
yeah they have a wrong picture and text in it !! only the small ring gear is upgraded to metal ! shame
Finally, a clipless body. Hopefully, it will be better sealed against dirt ingress. My god, is the Senton a dirt bucket after drifting anywhere not perfectly sterile.
It looks like they definitely put some effort into it
I keep having trouble with my slipper in my Typhon 3S, that stupid nylon slipper nut strips out and you gradually lose power while driving until it’s dead.
I haven’t done this myself but you though bolt it and just lock it up . Look it up here on YT
You can buy the center differential now. The 4S v 2.5 differentials fit with slight modification of the chassis
@@RcPlayer-tt2vw I'm not sure what you're referring to - are you saying to replace the nylon piece with a nut and wrench it down to essentially turn it into a spool? Also not sure what video to look for.. if you have any more information I would appreciate it 👍
Why would they switch out the original body?? It looks way better with the v3 body.
I think that's going to be a personal taste thing. I think the new body looks really good.
Yea i like the clipless system but have to agree I prefer the more squared look of the first senton body not sure what version that is but its by far my favorite
New Body looks way better! I have Sentons and the Fury. Fury is lower and more race-style. But less room for the Tyres.
Aesthetics is a very personal thing of course, but to me this new senton is proper fugly, sort of cartoonish. Will probably still sell in decent numbers though, and I seem to be in the minority not liking it anyway 😂
Should make the power button to be the arrma logo😊
That would be sweet!
@DoRC yep instead of just a round button 😁
I'd always prefer separate esc snd receiver systems. :)
Yeah I bet that most people who buy these cars never touch the electronics so for most of their demographic it won't matter but for us enthusiastic would be nice for them to be separate
What about the steering linkage? Does this one catch rocks and jam up the steering like the senton 3s blx? It's the one thing I hate about this truck!
It appears as though the steering linkage is similar if not the same
@@DoRC did you have rocks jam the steering while making this video?
How much will it be?
340
If they release a 3s big rock whith these specks i will sell my kidney for one 😂
I'd be surprised if they didn't
What about the Granite?
Not sure. I assume they'll upgrad it at some point
Interesting 🤔😎
Definitely some interesting updates! Thanks for watching :-)
SOLD.! SOLD.! SOLD.!! 😉 😉
Definitely some good improvements!
Pretty sure that esc is still a hobbywing esc.
I’ve been a Traxxas fanboy a long time… but when I see what you get per dollar spent from a lot of Arrma’s lineup compared to
Traxxas, yeah I’m starting to look at the Arrma site more often than not as I dream of my next 3s purchase.
If I were to get a 4wd or 2wd SCT right now it would be an Arrma and I really REALLY love my Slashes. 🤷♂️
Unfortunately no there's no way to bind it to any aftermarket radio that I'm aware of
Not sure if I want this one or that typhon coming out sometime I am just going to start saving an Wait till the vortex an typhon get released before I decide which one I want I can only get one so gotta wait till I see the other two
I suspect the vortex will probably be the most versatile option
The 2-in-1s seem fine in Groms but it’s a dealbreaker for me with the 3s line. Pushes me toward buying a roller on eBay or upgrading my current 3s via JennysRC.
Yeah there's going to be a group of people that feel that way. I suspect most people won't care though
Really baffled on the gear situation. Arrma preorder page shows metal and the input gear is listed as the metal one
The pinion gears are metal but the ring gears are plastic still.
@ that’s an off choice. Back when they were CNC, the teeth were like half the length on the metal vs plastic. Maybe they’re updated or maybe arrma just don’t care about having 50% tooth engagement
It's dumb how they mounted the ESC/RX so high to raise cg ala Traxxas philosophy (no power, so make it unstable to appear fast.)
Maybe though 50 plus miles an hour isn't exactly no power
Okay nope don't work in the RC industry, but I like to bash, at a good price. , I don't remember if there's oil in the diffs. In my opinion there should be, and also if you don't upgrade cool, that esc combo will work with the gyro but what about us tinker's? I myself never seen a use for a gyro on a basher but hey these things do get turned into something else just for the fun of It, that might make use of a gyro. Say speed runs in damp conditions.
I suspect these will have oil in them as the previous version differentials were oil filled.
Hopefully the 6s vehicules do not get clipless bodies. No longer able to use aftermarket bodies is absolutely stupid
Hard to know for sure. I will say that most people probably don't ever put an aftermarket body on their cars so it's likely not a major consideration for them
My only gripe is the insistence on using 2-in-1 electronics
For most people it probably won't matter but yeah it can be a downside
Man, I dont mind the 2 in 1 on the Groms, even the Fury since its meant to be an entry point to the hobby, but its starting look like its going to be on everything going forward, and Im not a fan of that. If I want to use the same remote I use for everything else I need to replace the ESC on anything I might buy? No thanks. If they do the same thing with the 4s/6s line when it gets revised I probably won't be buying any new Arrmas outside of the Groms.
They might do it on the 4S trucks but I doubt they'll do it on the 6s trucks. I guess we'll just have to see though
Now mojave 4s with clipless boddy
It's probably going to be a while
I race my Tenacity against the current senton and it gets smoked every race regardless how experienced you are.
Which one gets smoked?
@DoRC The Senton does.
@billyjones589 gotcha. I'm not terribly surprised. These cars are specifically designed as bashers and there are probably a lot of cars that would beat them on a track.
Looks like they have cut corners on the electronics.
Yeah I like that the two in one ESC has DSC but being two and one it definitely has some limitations.
Take a look at the exploded view diagram on their website. The way they work things is a little misleading.
Thanks though for the video!
@@RonaldVCg yep, one picture shows the arrma 4s v2 all !! metall diff. But its not true. Plastic with Metal is the one we will get!
Arrma claims Metall Diffs !! With picture of the Metall Diffs!! But exploided view leaves us unclear !!
I believe that picture is of the center differential. I think the exploded view is correct
@@DoRC No Center Diff looks completly different. They messed up the picture or something else. They have a picture and text with their metal diffs on it (same diff as arrma boost diff or arrma 4s v2)
jeez we were just getting away from the 2 in 1 junk and actually shaming the chinese about doing things that way...to jump in to the conspiracy esc power switch,i have a carisma that looks something like it.
Interesting I'll have to take a look at that. I did a reverse Google search on a picture of the switch and didn't really come up with anything.
@@DoRC & with all that being said I still preordered the new fury 😅
@AMM0394 I don't think you'll be disappointed. It's a sweet rig!
Idid a reverse Google image search and that power button looks like the power button on ARC-3 esc maybe 🤷🏻♂️ 😂
Similar but I don't think it's similar enough to be a match
And yet, they still use plastic diffs. Seems like they like drip-feeding upgrades every year.
they have picture with metall-diff. exploided view is unclear. we have to wait !!!
Press X to Doubt.
They really like designing fuseable parts in the most annoying place to service.
I didn't see that picture. The only all metal differential picture I saw was the center differential
Well they do have to keep the price down somehow
@@DoRC If look you at the part #’s, it appears the v4 is changing to a steel pinion gear while retaining the composite differential ring gear.
Nope. Just that ESC/receiver makes it a no for me.
I think it'll turn off a few enthusiasts but their target demographic probably won't care
The body system is what stops me from buying it. Nope.
Why don't you like it?
@ it eliminates the ability to use so many bodies that have been in production. Now you’re stuck only buying from armma which will mean $$$. Traxxas did the same thing.
@@ItBetterBeFast soon everybody will have clippless. its 2024. traxxas does it, now arrma. i dont like it, but its ok. The Gorgon one is terrible. The Fury one is a bit terrible. The new Senton one could be ok to use.
@ yea but now you’re stuck with only using their bodies. I can currently run pro line bodies and slash bodies on my senton
That 2 in 1 esc is the biggest deal breaker. This is worst than traxxas
Yeah most people probably never swap the electronics out so that's likely why they're doing it though for enthusiast it is a little frustrating
Terrible idea for 2in1 esc. Everything else is good.
Beauty is always in the eye of the beholder. Personally I think the new body looks awesome.
Not even close. Don't even compare traxxASS to them.
I'd recommend giving it a try before being too upset about it. The same basic form factor is in the fury brushless and I really like it. I had no problems with the fan breaking and I think overall it's a decent setup. I do agree that the two and one thing is a bit of a bummer though
I really do not like the 3 in 1 esc/reciever/gyro. It ia a huge downgrade that go very much against upgrading the car and makes it more expensive.
It just depends. I'm guessing most people who buy these vehicles never upgrade the electronics and that's probably why they're doing it
Plastic diffs. Dammit
They're not actually too bad and especially with the center differential I think they'll hold up pretty well
@@DoRC i hate them after a few years. After 200 packs with many of these cars i have changed way to many stripped gears. Its not too bad, but it is the Nr.1 weak spot in these cars.
@@runnerbaba they did switch the pinion gear to steel which will at least be an interesting thing to experiment with durability-wise.
No one wants to buy a rc that you need to replace all the electronics at once. What happened to bind and drive
Maybe though to be fair I'm guessing the vast majority of people who buy these cars never replace the electronics. My opinion is kind of biased because I'm always replacing electronics but I get the feeling if this was going to be a problem for a lot of people Horizon wouldn't have done it.
I’m more interesting in the clip less body.
Whats with it? It's 60 usd to replace from arrma and you cant use aftermarket unless you have body posts aswell. While at this time its unclear if the v3 body posts fit at all.
Does look pretty cool.
2 in 1 esc reseiver discusting 😂
I'm guessing most people never upgrade the electronics on these things so it's not a big deal but For some people it will be a bummer
First!
Thanks for watching!
