CPI E should be used as a basis for Seniors receiving SS Benefits. Right now with the pricing of groceries have increased so much we could barely afford it. A lot of them almost if not actually doubled in prices. Now we have to dip into our little savings sometimes. We seniors needs the $200 increase we’ve been hearing about.
Absolutely need CPI-E. Utilities and car insurance went up at beginner of this year.

Thanks for your reports. This Cola chart figures are really opposite of reality. It features low inflation numbers which don't correspond with the hole in our pockets after Senior spending.
Why isn't there an immediate switch to CPI-E? They haven't the slightest idea as to what it's like to navigate Senior finances in 2024. Decisions are based on their whims and not for the advancement of the SENIOR and Vet population.
Okay, coming up next is a two and a half COLA. I heard of that 200 buck raise, also, so I wonder what's going to happen with that.

I don’t even worry about the cola I based my bills on my current income for January 2025.. ok say after Medicare I have a $20 increase ok fine .. $10 a month goes to savings off the top..and I don’t touch it
Do I get other assistance no.. I also use public transportation.. see I do things to help
Me along the way…. Every $ saved adds up….
People say they can’t save on benefits… yes we can but it’s a little at a time….But you have to be consistent.. one $ at a time.. I’m doing it now… and I’m on SSDI I’m not a senior and I pay medicare too.. I’ll take what I can get… we all need a cushion moving forward.. if it’s only $100 this may be some groceries……

Congress gives themselves a huge raise every year, working less. Congress is not going to vote for Social Security a raise. CPI, is not true inflation

I received $44 in EBT in 2023 and $51 in 2024. I received little EBT because my senior/disabled housing does not charge for utilities and utilities cannot be controlled.

The thing about it is that the money in the pot should Always have an excess. Millions of people never even draw social security and a lot never draw but for a few years. Government,in past years, was always taking money from social security for other places when the people in power couldn't get the money that they needed for other projects. Should always have an excess of money. Too many people who are getting social security never paid ANY money into it or never paid very much. Too many DEADBEATS getting money from social security that hasn't contributed to social security.
