Social Security is a different bag. Most people who are on Social Security Cannot earn more money. I’m on disability and cannot work extra. I was one of the “proud” middle class workers. 80+ hours most of my working life. It put my oldest 2 in college without the student loan trap. But physically I can’t do it. $200 is nothing to a working person, but it could make big changes for those on a much limited budget. So many people think Social Security is welfare; it’s not.

I am 76 but I am doing summersaults over the 200 dollar raise proposal that you have brought back to existence. That would change my life and many others. The elderly would be able to afford decent food and medicines gain. I was very upset when I heard that no one cared that we were dying before our time. Sounds great for folks on SSI, SSDI, Survivors etc. but the issue is they will cut your WIC/SNAP/EBT as many states took them away last time as they increased it. My niece collects $1.870 a month on SSI & some states will allow you to collect it up to $22k a year & some states still at 12k to 14k a year to collect that. The cost of food etc. rising so much & rent 3x the price now & many need it.

Which means that the SS increase can put a lot of us seniors behind the 8 ball. Why? Because now we may not qualify for or will get less benefits. i.e. SNAP, LINK, Medicaid, etc. On the Federal level, our rent increases for senior and low income housing. Other services can be affected as well. So unless it becomes mandatory to adjust these limits accordingly as well, the increase in SS can mean we see as little as nothing (or even minus) 😵💫 to our other benefits. 😢 Your thoughts, please! He worked with both parties and formed Social Security, created jobs etc. and lower prices on everything.
