They seem to be holding onto the 717 a bit longer, currently the worlds largest operator of them. Heard rumors of a retirement by the end of 2025, but with 80+ still showing in the fleet I doubt it. Mostly seem to find them on routes to their lower demand destinations such as TUL, OKC, HOU, DAL where they need more than a CRJ but not a 737.
@@tonymcmillan840 Would definitely make sense if they plan to keep them past 2025, can't imagine spare parts are getting any easier to find. Looks like Hawaiian is the only other big operator left with only 1 temporary brought of of retirement for Qantas Link. Would love to see them used on services to places like my home airport of FWA, demand is there most days, just about every flight I've been on this year to and from has been completely full and sometimes oversold, plus getting quite burned out on the CRJ-900 at this point.
@@WolfskyTravels HSV Is kinda weird with the 71's. The early morning flight to Atlanta is always a 737-800 or a a320. All the other Atlanta flights are 717
Wow, that looked steep!
Just a bit, have to love the climb performance of the 717's and the now retired MD-80's/90's.
Looked a bit turbulent on the climb. Was it pretty mild?
Mostly mild, rather hot day pushing 32°C/90°F plus made for a few bumps along the way.
I thought they retired all of their 717's just like the Maddogs

@@WolfskyTravelsI read recently that they're adding a couple of more to the fleet.

Difficult to accept US airlines are still flying these outdated aircraft. By now there should not be a DC or sn MD anything in the air
Go away.
@@RedArrow73The older aircraft are better quality than the newer planes.
That's because they actually perform their job when they're supposed to perform their job
