Josephine's party is the perfect example where one is in a place surrounded by strangers but has the truest honesty of feeling like one is in one's real home
This show is very important. The word "gay" or "queer" is not mentioned at all in the entire show, yet the depiction of Josephine, Cole, and Gertrude is still incredibly powerful. It gets the message across-- love will prevail no matter what the world tells us. Always.
I'm like a whole year late to this video but I'm watching this in 2020, once more in a not-entirely-safe-to-be-out situation, and getting so emotional over how beautiful this whole episode/plotline was. I think this was my favorite episode of the series. I love how you narrowed in on this "love is love is love is love" thread here.
what a gift it must be to find search like-minded, non prejudicial, non harming but liberal and open to accepting one anothers' beauty-filled souls. Sometimes the longing to find such a place of belonging is so grate only to be followed by the somewhat greater fear and reality of never finding such a place with such people.
Girl: I like you're hair cut!
Anne: *lesbian panic*
Anne to be from the 19th century has a more modern mentality than many people today.

Aunt Josephine left during Anne’s speech. I would have been crying my eyes out. She really liked Anne, we all know why.
