Just in case you're wondering, the winter blades for the windscreen wipers are shielded to prevent snow from getting between all the hinged bits that keep even pressure across the blade. I can tell you from experience that bad things happen when the heat from the windscreen melts the snow, and then the wind rushing across the bonnet freezes it again. You quickly waste all of your washer fluid trying to melt the snow, followed by all of your time stopping every five miles to smash out the ice. Long story short, always spend the extra buck on season-appropriate wipers and tires.

Won't the stainless bolts make it rust faster? Maybe not such a big problem in Australia, but here in Norway stuff rust much quicker if you have different metals together!
Salt on roads in Aus is a rarity or more likely a never happens. We just have gum leaves and gumnuts to fall into gaps and crevices of cars to solidify and hod moisture and rust from the inside out. Yet you are very right for certain conditions, like don't use stainless screws to hold a bras tap to the side of your house, cos bye bye brass.
for anyone out there watching, take it from me as I learned the hard way on sound deadening mats: get the good stuff, Dynamat or Raamat. Yaris owner here :p 1) It's a slightly bigger nugget, you'll have *some* leg room! Some people think they used TARDIS technology to make it bigger on the inside. 2) It's super easy to dismantle and out back together 3) Fairly low-tech for its time, so not too many fancy parts to fail 4) Awesome aftermarket support (popular modding car here in Thailand, probably as many aftermarket parts here as you found for the Kancil in Malaysia) 5) The MK2 has been out nearly 15 years now, there are no major failure points apart from water pumps which can often start leaking, the car will probably outlive many of us 6) People look at it and don't expect it to be fast, so it's a surprise when one is 7) Pretty good handling out of the box, many US owners autocross them to great success And remember... You Are Riding In Style ;)
Something that helps when fitting parts held on with double-sided tape is to cut the tape too long. You then have a couple of pieces hanging off. Cut the extra foam and adhesive from the extra backing, leaving the backing. Fit the parts without removing the backing and you can get the fitment perfect. Then use your handy tabs to pull the backing off while the part is in place.

Good to see I'm not the only one who replaces every fastener with stainless steel when I have a chance. The heat, humidity and salt are not kind to fasteners around here.
I do hope you fly Tom Sato out to see the "scrap" car from Kei to the City. This has been such a transformation, from what it was to what it is now his mind will be blown!
Yaris: 1. Lightweight 2. Reliable 3. Doesnt rust 4. With suspension mods its like a go cart in the bends 5. Fuel efficient 6. Cheap to run 7. It can be a sleeper ,no 1 expects it to be fast
I had an 02 plate yaris for about a year, ragged the shit out of it and it never died on me, it went sideways more than my mates mx5, some old biddy reversed into it while I was at work and wrote it off though R.I.P yaris
I would love to see what MCM can do with a Yaris. I have only ever rented a 2017 Yaris but was actually really surprised. Definitely feels like a go-kart in the corners and was surprisingly responsive. Would take a Yaris over a Suzuki Swift any day as it's way more fun to drive.
The makers of PBlaster (a penetrating spray) make a product called PB RV Silicone. It works on rubber seals to keep them from breaking down. That on a rough paper shop towel is good for restoring plastic head light covers.
The rubber om winter whiper blades is to keep snow from jamming in all that loose space between. When you run summer whipers in winter around here in quebec, you sometime have to stop and knock the blades against the winshield to break the ice from them because you cant see through the windshield anymore.
This is my favorite build of the show yet. I remember crying when Moog told Marty it was on a truck headed to Import Monster. 12/10 bromance goals here. You guys are absolute legends.
7 reasons why the Yaris is the greatest car ever 1. It’s a Yaris 2. It’s a Yaris 3. It’s a Yaris 4. It’s a Yaris 5. It’s a Yaris 6. It’s a Yaris 7. It’s made by Toyota
@23:15, the rubber shield is to prevent the moving parts icing up and not flexing, making them not wipe part of the window. the new single piece "blade" type wipers are better IMO than those, but for a long time that was the option. Eventually the rubber cover gets a small hole in it, then the ice forms inside, and it's worse than normal because you can't clear them.

6) People look at it and don't expect it to be fast, so it's a surprise when one is
7) Pretty good handling out of the box, many US owners autocross them to great success
And remember... You Are Riding In Style ;)
ALWAYS TORQUE your seat belts to spec. NEVER skip safety.
YAWN...
Pretty sure they are torqued to spec
You mean finger tight, right?
@@TrashDeviant ease up there, don't want to over do it. Might strip the bolt
Something that helps when fitting parts held on with double-sided tape is to cut the tape too long. You then have a couple of pieces hanging off. Cut the extra foam and adhesive from the extra backing, leaving the backing. Fit the parts without removing the backing and you can get the fitment perfect. Then use your handy tabs to pull the backing off while the part is in place.
malaisia parts in a jdm car rebuild in australia sick !
Have really enjoyed the Mira videos. It never ceases to amaze me how awesome and polished your videos are. Keep up the great work!
Seems like the hard way to detail your car but hey, you guys always go the extra mile (or 1.67 kilometers down there lol) for your projects.
That's some funny shit lol that kilometer conversion had me almost in tears 😂😂😂
@@samuraitrappedinawhitemans9459 gotta post the conversion or tons of people will make time to tell you they don't have time to do the conversion themselves
The music reminds me of the late 90's in Ibiza! Great job with the car guys!!
You should make the water bottle/canister MOD-able into a catch can...
Good to see I'm not the only one who replaces every fastener with stainless steel when I have a chance. The heat, humidity and salt are not kind to fasteners around here.
Roadkill vs mcm part 2 please
Also what happened to the subarute
Forget Fryburger how about Tony and Lucky Hot rod garage and MCM

I do hope you fly Tom Sato out to see the "scrap" car from Kei to the City.
This has been such a transformation, from what it was to what it is now his mind will be blown!
Yaris:
1. Lightweight
2. Reliable
3. Doesnt rust
4. With suspension mods its like a go cart in the bends
5. Fuel efficient
6. Cheap to run
7. It can be a sleeper ,no 1 expects it to be fast
While no one would suspect it, Imo it's uglier and I would find a better looking car as a sleeper.
@@nathanblackman1063 its your opinion and your taste. Its like music everybody likes different music.
@@411nightnheaven Exactly, I just addeed the imo so no one would be offended ;)
The makers of PBlaster (a penetrating spray) make a product called PB RV Silicone. It works on rubber seals to keep them from breaking down. That on a rough paper shop towel is good for restoring plastic head light covers.
Shout out for the new head lamp from malaysia! Ayyyy 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤣🤣🤣
The rubber om winter whiper blades is to keep snow from jamming in all that loose space between. When you run summer whipers in winter around here in quebec, you sometime have to stop and knock the blades against the winshield to break the ice from them because you cant see through the windshield anymore.
18:48 I was cringing.... that Allen/hex wrench came pretty close to hitting the new paint.
This is my favorite build of the show yet. I remember crying when Moog told Marty it was on a truck headed to Import Monster. 12/10 bromance goals here. You guys are absolute legends.
I've been waiting for this forever!

7 reasons why the Yaris is the greatest car ever

3. It’s a Yaris
4. It’s a Yaris
5. It’s a Yaris
6. It’s a Yaris
7. It’s made by Toyota
I hate to be "that guy" but the yaris is a rebadged mazda2. Not actually a toyota.
